Big eyes, small muzzles/noses, big anime eyes, big ears, round features, exaggerated proportions

All in all, they look more like stuffed animals while normal fursuits are more anthro and look like something drawn up by an amature for a drug campaign or school mascot with human like limb proportions and more "realistic" head proportions but with cartoon eyes.
They usually fall into uncanny valley. Neither cartoony or realistic enough, just some creepy in-between.

Comparing mascots to fursonas just makes fursonas look worse imo. Mascots come with a very solid reasoning of being part of a money-making machine, the resources spent on building a fursuit will be recouped with better brand recognition and better sales.

Which just directly highlights how weird it is that someone is pouring time, energy, resources into making a fursuit for zilch, nada, nothing in return at all. Or maybe they get high off being stuffed inside a fursuit, which again when you need to hire a wage-slave to suffer inside a commercial mascot suit, really makes you wonder what's wrong with this person that they actually want to build the fursuit in order to suffer.


And we're not even touching on how professional mascots built on sales data are generally more appealing (because that's their whole function) rather than someone's slapdash homemade fursona.

Shiro isn't really a substyle so much as just a white coord. This dress could be used in a shiro coord but the basic style is sweet. So if you used coloured accessories, it would just be a sweet coord.

Sweet CAN be colourful and rainbow, but it doesn't have to be. It can also be muted or plain. If you lurk moar you'll get a sense for the distinctions between the substyles.

Trying to compare a fursuit to a mascot is more like a fashionista trying to tell you she's a fashion model for her own self and she's poured her entire life savings into buying the most expensive designer things for her wardrobe as she needs to present a good image. You'll definitely get a honest opinion with no pullback to what people will say, but your problem is your suit looks like a cheap chinese mascot you buy off of ebay after being fooled by the photos that look far better than what you get, or something a mall would buy for easter because they don't give a shit and it was cheap. It doesn't even register as a fursuit looking at it.
I'd say scrap what you have and completely start over. Find LOTS of reference of how furries make their fursuits, both in terms of photo reference and construction techniques. Get a feel for how they make them both physically and aesthetically, building off of a pre-made head base may help with making sure the final product at least looks ok in the end. There's also plenty of makers who make fursuits on commission if you're not steadfast on doing it yourself, but you seem willing to put the effort in.
AFTER you have a decent suit to build off of can you start to think about what coord will look good with it. As a heads up, if you're intending to wear clothes with your fursuit, you need to make sure you pay attention to how big your head is compared to the rest of your body, as wearing a head meant for a full on fursuit doesn't look good when you then only wear the head and hands with regular clothes, because it throws the proportions off.
