They had everyone line up to go meet Mana and he gently held everyone's hand and then gave them a rose it was 10/10 I'm still in awe of the fact that Mana held my hand for a few seconds. Also almost everyone looked amazing and the coord contest winners were wearing actual good normal but solid coords it wasn't just a "who is the most OTT" contest which I appreciated.

Mama seemed so dissassociated the whole event. Like during the guest coorinate contest he just seemed to state off and didn't even look at the outfits. The best coorinate contest was chosen by his interpreter and Rubab, not himself, so that was kind of lame as well.

On a positive note I was happy there were so many fans and friendly people to talk to! Plus there were a ton of raffle prizes.

I'm mainly a sweet and classic lolita but wanted to attend to pay homage/support the iconic brand. I wore their socks, headwear, and a bolero. I expected more of a selection in the booth but didn't see anything I liked more than other rarer pieces I'd rather drop the money on. I just wasn't able to track any down before the event.

"Within minutes" is plenty of time for a diehard fan to have grabbed tickets if they seriously wanted to attend. I mean, I doubt that one girl's boyfriend who was wearing blue jeans was trying harder than any of them.

I do think it as disrespectful that some bought tickets for an uninterested +1 and threw a random accessory on them. So many girls couldn't get tickets. When the ticket release was delayed I'm not surprised some missed out. I was lucky to be in a position to camp the website.

Another Moitie fan here who could have totally made this trip, but I was focused on a lot of other events at the time of ticket sales and didn't think I'd be free this weekend. I ended up having the whole 4 days of the con free and thought of going last minute, but it would have been disappointing without a tea party ticket, so I just stayed home and did a bunch of Halloween stuff instead.

Disappointed to hear about SOs taking seats from people who are into the fashion. This is often an issue with limited seating events in my local comm, as well. It's great that you can spend the money to bring your boyfriend along, but if you think about it, it's kind of selfish to take a spot from people who would really like to be there.

This whole attitude is gross. And the most OTT coord shouldn't automatically win! It comes off as, "I'll be mad because I think bunnies are cute but fuck other animals because I want to be righteous about this and this alone". I'm a vegetarian but I guess I don't care all that much. “Artistry” or not, it’s still a poorly color balanced coord with saggy boots and lumpy cicada drag makeup. I think people are generally tired of others piling on half thought out OTT and feeling entitled to winning. Nobody expects her to be perfect and to feel no feelings about losing, but this coord, while ambitious, is not fully polished and she comes off super attention grabby, which are two things notoriously unpopular on cgl.

Her reaction to the public on Instagram made her come off a sore loser and a bit creepy (with all the odd obsessing about Mana), so I can understand the criticism.

NAYRT but the white boots throw it. If you cover up her legs and feet the top half looks much better because the large block of white doesn’t balance well with the stripes and blue of the yukata. It would have looked a lot nicer to use platform shoes instead of boots with blue details and some sort of legwear that uses the blue, black, or gray.

>> No.10285775

>>10285725
I disagree. Your suggestion would leave the yukata standing out for too much white. The boots are balanced just fine with the make-up. Black is an added color here, so it was a good idea to carry the white from top to bottom, particularly as it is used for the shironuri function. I'd personally even add white lace gloves to this to finish it off.

nayrt, but the Yukata is actually pretty grayish in person, not white. Changing the boots for something on the actual color of the Yukata would surely improve the color matching of this coord.

The legs do feel a bit naked for my taste. I'd arrange for some blue roses around the legs, embroidered of sewn, I don't know.

We have a very full top and a completely naked bottom.

But yeah, wearing stuff like this in the West pulls you at risk of getting paint thrown at you. It really sucks as I barely wear my coat with fur collar because of this. It is a pretty coat that cost quite a bit, but it is just gathering dust. Like we eat the meat anyway, wouldn’t it be more sustainable if we just use everything the animal has to offer instead of trowing the leftovers away as waste?

>Moitie is still a high quality brand
On what standarts? TaoBao maybe? AP/BTSSB/Meta/IW not.
I´m a Moitie enthusiast and own/owned a lot of pieces over the years and I hate to say that but the quality is decreasing since 2011 or even before that (I look at you Iron Gate). At least for the print pieces. It feels to me like the designers slap a print on a dress or skirt and think this is enough to sell, which obviously is. I owned the first release Silent Moon OP and there was so little lace and details on it it was so disappointing and on top of that they didn´t evcen bother to put a logo tag in it.
The Harpsichord Trio OP had super cheap lining like the fabric you use for Halloween costumes. Not to mention how bad all that polyester is in the first place.
The solid pieces are much better with lots of details and wonderful fabrics. Maybe that´s the reason why Mana chooses the winners with "simple" and older pieces over overrated prints because he knows they are shit.

>>10286825
>Like we eat the meat anyway, wouldn’t it be more sustainable if we just use everything the animal has to offer instead of trowing the leftovers away as waste?

I would kinda agree if the human kind didn´t start to breed animals specifically just for having one purpose either fur, meat or eggs/milk most of the time you can´t have both. Did you ever ate a chicken which was used for efficiently laying eggs? I can tell you that the meat is really aweful. While this doesn´t apply for all animals which provide meat or fur it does for the majority. Even boars and deers get bred this days. Not that wild nature life from hundreds of years ago.

And when it comes to fur/pelt you can´t eat all species which provide that. Would you eat a fox, cat dog and such because they are used for fur? I rather not.

Fanny just...doesn't look great in Moitie and she doesn't make Moitie look great, I think she only got the job because they wanted a white girl. I don't know if she was ever an actual model prior to Japan but her posing and facial expression seems really flat and you can see how much she relies on one or two go-to poses. Even with the editing she looks really average.

The skirt in black was 1st by a big margin, then the nun blouse in black and white as well as the black high neck top in a close 2nd, then the red skirt and nun top In blue as a close 3rd

I expected the nun blouse to well but not that the red skirt quite behind in demand.

...the size DOES matter, because moitie rarely makes items with shirring? I think there's only been 3 main pieces with shirring since the revival, 2 of which were rereleases of dresses that were popular before because they could stretch. I asked because revival moitie now makes two sizes, one being much larger yet there's been claims that both sizes are much larger than their typical sizing (which varied anyways).

I just got the nun cape cutsew and lord, I'm disappointed in the quality. Idk if I just have high standards, but it looks like shoddy dollar store quality. It came wrinkled as shit, the collar looks like it's about to come apart at the seams and drapes horribly. It's also huge on me, super baggy, definitely not as slim fitting on the torso as the pictures made it look. I want to comment on how dull the blue looks compared to the stock photos but I have really bad lighting right now so maybe it isn't (kinda also looks shiny, maybe my eyes). I know the material is supposed to be thin but this feels thinner than my cheap taobao tshirts. I cannot believe I spent this much on this, this is the second time I got burned by new moitie too. Did anyone else get one of the new releases?

>> No.10295855

>>10295845
I skipped them all--the knit top looked too thin, the nun collar top was ribbed (not my style), and the skirt has 0 support.

But I'm planning to order the Baroque collab piece and am crossing my fingers that the tulle portion isn't too delicate.

>> No.10295858

I feel the same about the three releases, I talked myself into the nun collar because it was the only one I kinda liked and I wanted a nice quality top (so wrong). I thought the skirt looked super cheap and the knit was way too generic.
Does Baroque allow for overseas orders or do we have to wait for Wunderwelt to stock it? Hopefully that release is much better than the quality of the last three releases...

Alright, back from the post office and here are my thoughts: I don't think it's dollar store quality, but it's not $150 quality. The material is definitely on the thinner side, though not see-through or anything.

The sizing is weird and it's very top-heavy due to the combination of the bishop sleeves plus the weirdly-draping nun-collar - unfortunately, I have a slightly above average bust (32DD/E), which just makes it look even more unbalanced.

The rest of it fits me very comfortably (28 inch waist); I think someone a bit bigger could comfortably wear it as well - but again, you'd have to have a small bust for it to be actually flattering. A very petite person would be absolutely swimming in it though. The nun cape also seems very prone to wrinkling,
