Replica Definition Reminder Post [newb slide]
>Print Replica
Re-using a copyrighted original print without permission; as much of a copyright violation as art theft. Actually illegal if brought to court.
>Design Replica
A legal loop hole; an object that duplicates the construction of a copyrighted object without an original print or copyrighted color (those exist). Not illegal or else someone could copyright the idea of pants.

>Brando's problem with Replicas
They hate them showing up at official tea party events because it causes "brand confusion", which is the issue of people mistaking an item having been made by a different company. Replicas tend to be poorer quality then the originals, so attributing a poorly-made replica as the real thing can affect their sales and reputation.

>>10293689
... Honestly I just wish we would move on to "evolving" the tea party shoe into something new / different. It annoys me how impractical they are as actual shoes and yet they seem in-trenched into the look

I'm just tired of people having to pack sneakers with them and changing out either halfway through the event or as soon as the event ends. Spending the rest of the day in converse with a full coord is not cute, desu. Also it's not cute when your correct-size tea parties (replica or original) cause sores so you bleed on your brand OTKs.

btw, would it be a good idea for "veterans" to post tl;dr short reviews of bodyline pieces in this thread?

Wait, do people really find tea parties to be uncomfortable? Over the past 2 years I've worn ($10 taobao replica) tea parties every day, to a point where I've worn completely through the soles of two pairs. And it's not like I was just sitting around in them all day either, I don't drive so between walking to bus stops, around the city, and around campus, I'd walk about 10 to 15km in them per day

Even if fhe quality was good it doesn't even match well and it makes the dress look tacky. That print has zero noticable white accent in it. For contrast from the light pink or ivory, a brown lace would have looked much nicer. And the bodice looks like a sloppy oversized half assed attempt at princess seams. Bodyline has had better constructed bodices than this in the past even if the materials were cheap. The design of the dress just seems lazy and like they're trying to let the print carry the piece rather than putting in effort. They could have just made it a full shirring jsk with some extra bows or a corset lacing panel up front and the bodice would have been better.

Atleast from what I know there shouldn't be a size L, just M, 2L and 4L. So pick the best size out of the three and ignore the L. To calm your mind, there has also no size L ever been sold on LM (opposite to a shitton of Ms and 2/4Ls) and their rakuten page says the same.

All of my dresses from brands are cotton. I don't wear prints though, just older stuff, so that might be why. All I know is that compared to my bodyline solid dresses, the bodyline fabric is better than costume shit, but it's still not comparable at all to brand. Because it has shirring on the front and back, it can stretch a ton. I usually wear 2l in bodyline (i'm not obese, just tall so the length really helps) and I'm swimming in the 2l when it's usually loose but not horrible. The m fits me great (94cm bust, 26cm waist) but it's above my knees a couple inches, whereas the 2l is knee length on me, more or less. The straps are stretchy though, so the m can vary a bit if I pull it down more.

Now I'm seeing some of their shoes are available in size 260 and on a great sale, but I'm worried they'll be too small. Any advice? > Both are the same price

I had that petti when I started out a few years ago and it wasn't too bad poofwise with some stacking, the waist band is very thick and strong so it isn't hugely forgiving, you might end up feeling the squeeze of the waistband after a days wear and the lining isn't as long as the petti either so the petticoats material may tend to fuzz up your tights or be scratchy against your leg as well as it isn't particularly soft.

I've seen this fabric before.

I guess they're leaning into using basic easy to find Japanese fabric and doing minimal effort in cut and design for their prints.

Nostalgic feels gulls, really happy bodyline is carrying on for the next generation, when stock dwindled and then mr yan sold it on was sure it was a goner, consigned to be a piece of lolita history. I remember in 2008 getting tons of bodyline crap in the sales and thinking its better than I expected, most people would have 3 or so brand items they wore to death back then and a wardrobe of handmade, its & bodyline. Pouring over bodyline reviews on egl on livejournal, looking for the gems amongst the rubbish. There are lots of options nowadays but I am glad its still around.

re: weebs, that's what I'm saying. It's always hard to tell what kind of illogical conclusion their birdbrains have made, like if waloli is an ita staple maybe they'll wear qiloli instead. Hence my guess is Bodyline is doing MTO instead of going into full production and avoid possibly stocking a dress that weebs aren't interested in.

I'm another anon who ordered these shoes, and the bows definitely aren't as nice or sturdy now. I ordered them in dred, pink, black and brown. I already own the older style in the winexbeige colourway so I compared them. (sorry about the mud! I've only recently been wearing them and haven't had time to clean them yet)
The back bows are no longer completely secured to the shoe, and are just held on with a piece of sewn on pleather, so they've kind of curled up at the corners. The black pair are already slightly torn at the top of the bow and in fact the brown pair arrived with one bow hanging off (advice on reattaching it well are welcomed, I may attempt to sew it back on). The front bows aren't stitched at the edges now and are glued instead, the glue is kind of messy around the bows too. The edge on the pink pair had unfolded slightly so I had to press it back into place. They are definitely not as neat or defined as the original bows were but it's not the worst thing I've seen. The construction of the shoes themselves still feel solid and well put together. The branding of the Bodyline logo on the inside has changed as well. I think it's still wise to order them half a size up as the fit is still the same. They all arrived in thier own individual boxes and also came with extra insoles. Images (1/2)
