I like a lot about this, but I’m think the sleeves and collar mainly are what isn’t flattering. She’s a little on the larger side and the sailor collar draws a lot of attention to the shoulder area, which is something that looks better minimized in lolita. Also the sailor collar looks pretty bad quality in general and cheapens the look. As a general cookie cutter sweet look, this dress might look better as a jsk & paired with a long sleeve peter pan collar blouse or poofy short sleeve peter pan collar blouse and some wrist accessories. Perhaps some better quality plushie bags could help as well, but they’re not too bad. It doesn’t look terrible as is, just my thoughts on the look

Boat chan here, normally I lurk here and occasionally post in places like the mail thread but I'm so charmed that plenty of you seem to love the fact I'm on a boat save for my sweet vendetta chan so I thought I'd give a brief on my boat to save some debating and thread derailment!

The boat is a ex working canal boat in this style and is from the 1930's, it's a little over 70 feet in length. It's got a fair bit of history to it and when we bought it we completely stripped it out to restore it completely. It's still rough around the edges as it's taken time to have it renovated and we're (parents and I) yet to have work on the inside completely finished so there's untidiness here and there. Normally I take and post coord shots when I'm out and about because it's not always the most photo friendly place especially for lighting and the like, but since this was just a coord I was trying out and sharing I figured the front room would be decent enough haha.
I do have a full sized wardrobe and set of draws in my room which is big enough to store my dresses, shoes, blouses, coats, legwear as well as my normie stuff. As long as you know how to utilize space well everything is easy to manage! Eventually I will to move out into my own place (a home on solid ground lol) but that won't be a reality for a little while yet!

I couldn't say exactly whether it's completely better or worse than an apartment since I haven't lived in one (We moved out of our house when I was a kid onto a more modern boat which we lived on for a good 15 years or so before moving onto this one) but I'd say it's probably more favourable if you have the desire to live on a boat and are willing to handle things that are an easier convenience in an apartment (water, fuel, gas ect). My parents always dreamed of living on a boat, were prepared to handle it and at that age I had no choice and just got used to it and adapted haha

The difficulty of tasks vary depending on the situation of the boat- if you're paying to live in a Marina and basically moored there permanently you'd probably have a constant supply of power, and very easy access to gas, water and fuel ect.
If you pay for a permanent mooring (your own bit of land that you buy basically, which is what we have) you normally need to move every now and again to get those necessities or be able to drive to get them, or if you don't have permanent residence you normally have to constantly move, which could be inconvenient in terms of travelling for work and the like. All boats have licenses and need tax paid on them too annually. Maintenance is probably fairly easy, only having the bottom cleaned and serviced which varies by boat, because of the age of ours it needs doing every two years.
You can generally have all your usual appliances so long as the energy consumption isn't too powerful.

I'm afraid the boat will never be pink haha, my parents are keeping the exterior and interior faithful to a 30's/40's kind of style, though I have freedom in my room and have the walls that can be painted a pale lavender, one wall is pale pink and all my furnishings will be white once everything is finally finished, hopefully this summer!

All of my wardrobe I keep hung up along with blouses, cardis and coats, and have managed to have about 50 main pieces at a time, however since my wardrobe has recently transitioned from a mostly pastel sweet wardrobe to more jewel and chocolate tones I'm at about 30, and will hopefully settle comfortably around the 40 mark. I only really have time to wear lolita on weekends and holidays since having a full time job so a lot of pieces were being left unworn. My shoes are kept in a space underneath the wardrobe and on a rack which also holds my bags. I have hat boxes in various sizes for storing hats, hairbows, clips and brooches in various styles- socks go in my draws and jewelry I put in small cosmetic organiser type draws. I used to be a fairly frequent cosplayer and made my own costumes at one point, so I also have a sewing box and machine. Costumes and bulky normie winterwear I vacuum pack and store and just bring out when it's needed. As long as everything is well organised getting ready is a pretty standard routine.
It's probably an easier life if you're more of a minimalist (which I'm definitely not haha) but as long as things are well organised it's easy to continue with larger hobbies.
