That's a refund policy, which is usually used to denote if you can buy and then refund a ticket before the event for no reason.

Since the event has been postponed, they will legally have to offer refunds to people.

The problem with Sunnycon and the refund policy was simply that people asked about refunds and got repeatedly told NO REFUNDS by their team, until somebody pointed out they'd end up being sued if they didn't offer refunds to customers who wanted them.

As far as I am aware, Hyper Japan have not told anybody they will not be issuing refunds and the refund policy simply hasn't been updated. If you ask them I'm sure they'll offer you a refund without the bullshit that Sunnycon tried to pull.

Last year Sunnycon ran in both Newcastle and Liverpool. VAT limit is £85,000, if you divide that by the £22 cheapest available ticket is 3,860 tickets they can sell before they’re over the limit

That doesn’t even count money from dealer tables, their merchandise, or the after parties, so realistically it would be less than 3,000 tickets

So either he’s lying about being under the VAT limit or they didn’t even sell 3,000 tickets between TWO full sized conventions

And the only way for them to actually have that 10,000 he claimed while also being under the limit would mean that Sunnycon gave away over three quarters of their tickets as free to the under 12s.

That’s not exactly realistic so they’re either:
1. Have a business model where over THREE QUARTERS of their tickets are given away.
2. They're lying about their attendance
3. They're committing VAT tax-evasion

So, in other words, Sunnycon are either idiots, liars or criminals. It's honestly difficult to figure out which at this point.

Its not worth to travel up as far as london. It's an average con if you're local, especially when the con scene in the north-east is shite tier, sunny is more or less all we have. Anything more than an hour drive i'd say give it a pass. If you do go never wear any cosplay that you can easily overheat in.

Some are attempting to put together events that combine discord, streaming video, games/virtual environments, etc. Some people in the discord are very keen on a game called tower unite that can accommodate about 60 people in a server, I mean it's not con numbers, but I think even running stuff on discord will be lucky to get more than 100 attendees

Disgusting con, awful staff, questionable motives, and everything else that's came out about them lately I would be surprised if there wasn't a boycott planned for next year.

The only way I can see the con surviving is if the people running it step down and pass it on to people who aren't shitbags.
