Why do some women go to cons like this?

Honestly not trying to judge, just confused. 99% of men at cons are undesirable, so why do they want to get attention from them? Seems like a weird place to want to flaunt your body.

Uh idk big brain maybe because they aren't doing it for men????
It's fun to get to walk around half naked in the middle of a city using the excuse that's it's for cosplay

Because women actually like wearing it.

It’s not about wanting dick, it’s about them being confident, scrote.

Is it though? Why a convention and not, you know, the beach? Going to a con with a "slutty" version of a character seems as though you'd want attention from the other congoers.

>> No.10393089

Does going to the beach also means that people just want to grab attention?

And, do you have easy access to a beach all year long in every single place of the world?

The same could be said about anyone wearing anything slightly different from a T-shirt and jeans if we follow your logic, dummy.

Let people wear whatever they want if the rules of place allow it. Don't be a dick and let them enjoy life.

But cosplayers literally cosplay to get attention for it. They like to be approached about the cosplay. It's not like at the beach where you're going because it's hot or you want to play in the ocean or something.

You don't have access to cons all year long either. I just don't understand why so many attractive women want to show off to a bunch of 1/10 dudes.

>>10393092
I'm not being a dick whatsoever. I'm not insulting her. I'm just curious as to the logic behind highly revealing versions of normal cosplay at cons. Pretty much none of the men there are on her level.

No, anon. That's not it. Some people do enjoy the attention, but that's not the main reason most people do cosplay.

Stop it anon. Men think everything we do is for them, so when we don't give our bodies to them, they get upset and make threads like this as their way of getting attention from women. Negative attention is the easiest attention to get for men because they don't have to work for it or address any of their flaws.

>> No.10393124

>>10393119
You’re the one acting obtuse. We’re telling you people don’t do it for attention. Let me rephrase it to be about cosplay: cosplay isn’t for getting attention either. People cosplay because they like the character and it’s fun. Some people like dressing sexy to begin with, which is like wearing any clothes you like. So they wear sexy versions of cosplay because it combines the fun of cosplay and dressing the way you like.

>> No.10393127

>>10393119
NAYRT but i'm sure you can make the logical step here that people wear what they want because it's fun and makes them happy. Also, while jfashion is everyday clothing, let's not pretend that normies always see it that way (wearing lolita to the grocery store isn't every person's idea of daily clothing outside of the community.) Cons provide a space to wear costumes and have a good time in a setting meant for costumes, it's not about attracting a partner

>> No.10393129

Most people don't over analyze all of their actions. If it's fun, it's fun. If you can't write an essey about why you enjoy a certain thing in relation to human condition as a whole, why would cosplayers?

Attention whores want attention at all times. It doesn't matter from who, or from what. There is an effort x attention coefficient that can be observed through Twitter and social media. The more attention a whore receives, the more she desires. However, each thot has her own restrictions and guidelines on what is an is not an acceptable moral event horizon to achieve that attention. Some go full literal prostitute porn star, where others justify anything up to that point.

As the roastie approaches the wall, you will see her lash out in new and bizarre ways to achieve attention as it dwindles. Many will have children and live vicariously through them or feel sustained by the attention provided by said children. Everyone else in this thread saying dumb shit like THEY LIKE IT, and JUST WANT 2 FEEL CONFIDENT IT'S NOT ABOUT THE GAZE OR AN AUDIENCE are full of shit because these people could just dress up like this at home if it pushed the dopamine button in their monkey brain the same.

tl;dr women love attention, not the SOURCE of the attention

>> No.10393172

>>10393075
OP you'll understand a lot more about women when you understand that a lot of them want attention without actually wanting to fuck anybody. Men seem to think that a woman wanting people to admire her body means she wants those people to fuck her. Some women enjoy the feeling of withholding that from admirers, but for the most part they genuinely don't believe that their appearance is sending the message that they are available for sex, because they forget how stupid and single minded men are.

>> No.10393173

>creates a thread on a board filled with women

I mean, let's not pretend that there's only one kind of attention one can receive and that it's limited to people wanting to have sex with you... I can go to cons and appreciate the hard work people put into cosplays, skimpy or otherwise without going feral. Some cosplays just have less clothing and it's really not that big of a deal

>> No.10393178

>>10393175
I didn't split hairs over types of attention or sources, as I mentioned.

The man that goes dressed up as a giant cardboard mecha with LEDs in it that has people constantly running up and going OOH and AAHH is sucking on the sweet teat of attention as much as short skirt Shimakaze cosplayer #40453.

Why do you keep implying/fixating on the "fact" that these outfits will mostly attract the attention of "undesirable" men? This is either b8 or it sounds like you're trying to bury the lede and make a comment about men at cons instead of women.

It's a mutual relationship of pleasurable looking. The reasons for each case varies but in the end they know that they look good, and that others (not necessarily everyone) want to look at them.

Anyone that gets upset is usually a vocal minority :^)

All cosplay is for attention. This is an undisputable fact. The difference is that some people want attention for their craftsmanship or their dedication to a character and their design, and some just want any attention they can get.

It's not a complicated concept.

>> No.10393251

This is a bad comparison because clothing is context sensitive. Swimsuits and beach attire is normal at the beach, it is the standard. Slutty cosplay is not the standard attire at cons. Wearing a bikini to the beach doesn't mean you want to grab attention, wearing a sling bikini at the beach on the other hand...

>> No.10393266

>>10393089
If you want to go to the beach in a skimpy outfit for the confidence boost then it is still to get the attention of others, isn't it? Otherwise you wouldn't need to go out and do it at all. If you truly just want to be naked without garnering the attention of others, then sit naked at home

Men can be such easy targets. It's hard not to have fun toying with certain ones.
It has nothing to do with wanting to sleep with them, the point is that they don't have a chance and that showing off/wearing skimpy clothing isn't the same as consent.
