HAPPY FEEL!! I took a long time off from dating after my previous relationship landed me in a psych ward for a mental breakdown (years of emotional abuse from one partner).
During that relationship I clung onto lolita in order to have some sense of self. Naturally when things ended, I attached bad memories to lolita and put it away for a long time. I decided to focus on myself instead of trying to “get over him by getting under someone else” like I usually do, and started reflecting on what I needed to work on for myself. I’m still not in the best shape mentally, but I’m trying to own and overcome my trauma. I started new hobbies I wanted to get into but he wouldn’t allow, I have control over my money and I’m damn good at it, and lately I’ve been feeling healthy enough to dress up again!


Everything has been going so swimmingly that I seem to have attracted a really cool guy too! I’m so happy but I’m horribly afraid

There are a bunch of lolitas in my comm who don’t have much going on in their life aside from lolita. They live with their parents, work dead end minimal responsibility jobs and don’t really have any other adult responsibilities aside from paying their phone bill. It’s not a sustainable lifestyle but still, sometimes I envy them. I wish I could fully indulge in my hobbies like that, even if just for a little while.

I regret deciding it was a good time to rearrange my wardrobe and trash my room in the process. I ended up missing the moitie tea party because of it like a dummy.

My mom took it upon herself to give one of my dresses to my cousin for some party she was going to without asking. I tried getting it back but by the time I was able to, the damage was done. The waist/bust was completely stretched out, missing two of the buttons to "give her some room", as well as a mysterious stain on the skirt from what I think is bbq sauce. No one in my family is on my side with me being pissed about it because they think just because we're related I should share my things and told me not to waste money on, and I quote, "things that can get damaged" as if that makes any fucking sense. It was one of my favorite dresses and was extremely difficult to get a hold of especially since they don't usually have the print I bought.

I know some of you hairless whites and Asians can't relate, but I can't post on insta because my threader STILL isn't open. And my ethnic unibrow/moustache/sideburn genes make me too unruly to take cute pics in lolita without getting threaded. Can't wax because retinol will cause my skin to tear from my face if I try. How thick/dark is your hair? In the reviews for these kinds of razors I see a lot of women talking about using it for exfoliation and "peach fuzz", but my hair isn't quite as fine as that.

What do you mean? Epilating is by far my favourite way to get rid of leg hair. Don't see why it wouldn't work on the face apart from perhaps being too painful.

i'm whitey but i have a lot of super thick, dark body hair, can you rec a specific epilator/talk about your experience? how painful is it? does the hair regrow back slower?

I just bought a cheap epilator off a friend who found it too painful so I can't really recommend a brand, mine has served me fine for years. How painful it is depends on the location but I find that the calf isn't painful anymore for me at all, it's more of an annoyance than anything. I also use it for the back of my thigh where I have darker hair and that hurts a fair bit more but it's fine if I take it slow. In my experience there's definitely less and thinner hair in places I epilate regularly, at least compared to shaving, and once you epilate the whole leg once, upkeep is less time-consuming because not all the hair comes back at once.

Shaving is useless for me because you can see the dark hair against my light skin the day after, but epilating is both easy to do at home and lasts a long time.
