Post your coord help questions here.

I have some difficult coord requests I want to see anons do!

I've devised a fictional lolita community made up of fictional characters that I think anons might have fun putting together outfits for. (or trouble, good luck with working with the tall ones!)

>A Lolita coord that can be worn by a 5'11 woman with broad shoulders and size 11 shoes. Every dress is too short on her and the waist of dresses hits her at the underbust. She cannot fit into one peices due to her shoulders, and blouses tend to give her trouble as well. She prefers sweet lolita, but would settle for classic. Is self conscious about her height and just wants to feel cute in her favorite fashion.

>An Ouji coord that can be worn by an a 6 foot tall guy with size 8 mens shoes. He Loves the look of Atelier Boz's clothes. He plays it off to his friends that he wants to dress like this to get "weeaboo pussy" but in reality he just wants to feel like a prince. Thinks wearing pumpkin shorts makes him look gay.

>A Classic or Gothic coord for someone with a larger chest. She's short and everything usually fits her but has problems with the bust. Tired of being sexualized and just wants to look refined and worship mana sama in peace.

>A character themed coord (anons, pick your character, any one!) for someone who's a big weeb, but also wants to look good at the same time. she's been struggling trying to get the theming right for her favorite character without looking like trash, and hopes to impress her crush with her styling at the next meetup.

>A straight up Ita showed up oh god what is she wearing (up to you anon) She's the embarrassment of the comm and its amazing how she looks so terrible. Loudly talks about being into DDLG while everyone sinks in their seats while she talks

have fun!

hey, I'm the same height. i went for skirts initially because i figured i can wear the blouse untucked and then it won't show that i hike down the skirt below my natural waist, but then i feel like the blouse bust darts are still high up and the skirt is still short and the waist isn't cinched so i just have an elongated lumpy torso inbetween. if i wear the skirts at my natural waist then i feel like it shows too much leg for sweet, and the underskirts i see are too OTT for my casual skirts. so I've started going for adjustable-strap jsks instead. how is the length of the mam blouse? do you wear it untucked? do you do anything about the skirt length or you're at peace with it?

NAYRT but I’m >>10463527 and I’ve heard MAM blouses are short even by average person standards so I’ve stayed clear.

I’ve personally accepted short skirts since skirts are typically casual. BUT most of my skirts are hand made so it’s not an issue for me regardless.

You can get a super simple underskirt from MeLikesTea. I throw it on when I’m feeling self conscious and it just adds a simple chiffon ruffle that’s a few cm.

White/ivory/jewel tone
I think you should go for something with a pointy collar like a lot of Boz's blouses. It's just a black skirt though, so as don't overthink it. Anything that isn't seethrough and goes with your coord is fine.

>>10467479
The JSK is super pretty and overall the coord seems really solid! I'm not a fan of that underskirt(?) though. I also think that you might want to go for a different blouse and shoes. Neither of them is terrible, but the shoes are very sweet compared to the JSK and the blouse looks like it's kind of cheap. It doesn't even lay nicely in the stock photo. This is mostly nitpick though.

>> No.10467497

>>10467495
Thanks for the advice! So the colors are at least fitting? I can stick with gold shoes but maybe get a different pair? Another idea was looking for black shoes and adding gold clips to them. As for the blouse, how can you tell? I don't doubt you I just want to be able to pick up why it looks cheap so I know what to look out for when looking at other blouses.

>> No.10467528

>>10467479
nta but while this star lace actually works here you should know that it has a negative rep for being shoehorned into coords it doesn't belong in and you may get shit for it at some point
on the blouse - it looks cheap to me personally because of the ricrac-like lace, the way the fit looks kind of frumpy even on the mannequin, the button spacing looks a bit uneven betweens sets, and the fabric just kinda has a vibe. it looks wrinkly despite the blouse overall appearing steamed, at least.

What's your headpiece?
I think the shoes are fine. As for the blouse I'd try to think ahead to future coords. You don't need to plan your entire wardrobe right now, but would black x gold be something you foresee wearing with other dresses in the future? You may want a black blouse just to be more versatile.
Same thing with the petticoat, it's better to buy a generic petticoat or you are going to have to buy a different one basically right away.

I haven't figured out the headpiece for this in particular yet. I'm thinking of gold star/moon hair clips along with a black KC bow but it's up in the air at the moment. As for a plain black blouse, that's what I'm looking through now. The black and gold just stuck out at me since the rest of the coord went with that.

Here, I tried my hand at the tall girl with big shoulders and feet who wants sweet but can deal with classic. The JSK stock pic is lav, but pretend its the pink colorway as shown on the print pic. Jsk has adjustable straps, full back shirring ~112cm and length 107cm (68cm skirt). The underskirt is also 68cm, but she could wear it lower on the hips to add more length or find a better one than I did. The cutsew is stretchy and has longer short sleeves which I assume would ride up and look sort of like a regular length short sleeve. The shoes go up to 16US.

There are some cute black blouses for <4,000 yen on closetchild, anon. You don't have to buy brand to look good, but it is a safe bet for a newbie worried about quality.
If you want a taobao blouse, look for one from a well reviewed shop that has some drape to it. That was a big part of the problem with the blouse you picked out, the fabric looked cheap. You can see it in that the ruffles on the one in your pic stood out really stifly, but you want ruffles to lay a lot flatter to the body.

Tall people clothes

-shoes? if you have a size 13 shoe go fuck yourself lmao

it's weird that you assume all short girls are skinny and have tiny feet

>> No.10468665

>>10468633

If you're fat and short you still have options and can just take things in or have them hemmed. Also much of the time though not all shorter height can mean smaller feet. At least every short person I have met has had smaller than average feet and every tall one a little larger than average. I've been short and fat in the past and having to deal with moe sleeves or long pants legs isn't that bad conpared to having skirts and dresses hit uncomfortably short or pants turning into capris I am guessing. Plus petite plus sizes are a thing; fat people have tons of options nowadays irrespective of height. Being short and healthy weight is easier as well cause you can shop kids section or just wear Asian or jfashion. Though for me my body type limits me to dresses and skirts since boobs and hips make it harder for stuff to sit right.

Being tall as a girl comes with other problems and insecurities too especially in a fashion all about femininity. I'm annoyed at my size making it hard to reach things but everyone babies me or tells me I'm cute or wants to help. Tall girls deal with more insecurity socially when they are young I hear being "less feminine". Even runway models tell those stories from their childhoods about being picked on for being lanky abd tall, etc.

(You are right that a lot of short people are fat tho; just look at half of all western sweet lolitas)

Apologies for bumping. I'm at a loss with this coord. What legwear and petti would work best?
Are there any A-line pettis that aren't too huge?
Would a beret with cluny lace work? If so, what color?

Your coord is pretty basic right now but I could easily see this going in an academic look. Picture as vague inspiration.

A navy blazer to match the skirt would be cute. A beret for an academic feel would be good as well. A square style school bag. I dont have any particular suggestions for legwear but something simpler would probably be alright.

>> No.10471825

i haven't got any petti recommendations, but a beret seems nice in theory. are those shoes navy or black? white OTK frill top socks would be one option. the type with textured patterns on them help them not to look too plain. you could also use navy tights with the typical crown pattern. i think a cardigan would be very cute with this.

Alright, here it is. Clothing is from fanplusfriend (the first suggestion people give bigger oujis, custom sizing), hat is from Historical Emporium (easily googleable), boots are Demonia (one of the first results for "goth shoes" and they go up to women's 12), and everything else is from Ebay with search terms like "man mask" and "man goth ring". I recently got this dress in the mail and want some ideas of what I could wear around my waist for a more gothic look. I usually do sweet or sweet-classic type looks so I’m a little out of my comfort zone with this piece.

>> No.10486757

i think since it has an oldschool feel you could keep it simple and do the bag+shoes in either white, red, or black as a starting point. With the pattern, you could stay with country strawberries for warm weather or lean into a more preppy look for cold weather with something like a crown necklace, cardigan, and beret. I wouldn't try to match the sparkly stripes with full-on gold(?) bag and shoes because it's not that fancy, but you could match the jewelry to it.

I'm wondering how well those items actually match - on my monitor, it's showing me a deep chocolate brown bow, yellowy ivory blouse, mid-brown dress and off white/chocolate brown socks. The first thing I would replace is the blouse if you're going to match with off-white, since at least the hair accessories and socks sort of match the waist bow and trim on the dress. The default choice for shoes with this dress seems to be dark brown, which would work with what you have so far. If you're keen on adding gold in the accessories, you might be able to get away with gold shoes.

If you have some blouses in different colors (or even just normie shirts) you could try them on under it and see what color combos look good. If the stock photo isn't very accurate it's going to be impossible for any of us to tell you what will look good.

I agree with the other anons that mustard might look great. Either a bright mustard or a darker brownish one. Beige might look good. Navy might look good. Green might look good. Dark teal might be an interesting contrast. You can also go matchy matchy and look for a blouse in a similar burgundy.

I would like to hear other people's input, particularly regarding if the fur collar is a good idea, what headpiece I could use for this, whether or not the bolero looks good with this dress

I was also wondering if grimoire tights, particularly Verum Dr. le Dossier de Gilbert Tights, work with this dress or would it look bad? I have the idea of putting some brooches on the fur collar (and I could put a brooch on the collar of the blouse if I decide to not wear the fur collar), but I'm not sure what it should look like

>> No.10506306

>>10506296
i think the cross tights thematically match better than the grimoire tights. are you planning on wearing the bolero and the fur collar at the same time? you might end up with too much stuff stacked on your neck with both of those and the high collar blouse. all of the worn pics i've seen of this dress makes it look very black. i would be more inclined to go black/ivory instead of brown/ivory with it (though admittedly i usually wear gothic)

The dress, blouse, headdress, and socks are all fine! The bag is okay too, it's not personally to my tastes but you could make it work.

Absolutely ditch the boots though. I saw someone wearing something similar a while back in person and they were really awful. If you want to go for boots, change them for something more like pic related. Sorry I forgot to put socks in my version but the OTKs you chose are fine. Personally I went for a more traditional headbow as kuro coords always bring to mind more oldschoolish times for me. Got lazy with the jewellery, sorry, but it was just to give an idea of a style you could go for.

That’s a technically a nice idea anon, sadly the dress is much more dusty and warm irl and would horribly clash with lavender.

If you're going for royal, then pull from the golds and whites and blues, with echarpes and rosettes and crowns. There are also brown items that aren't necessarily chocolate themed, like brown blouses or boots.

As an Acup I can verify you’re just being really ugly, petty and jealous right now. Or a male larper, either or.
Big tiddies can, and if anything should be celebrated by those who have them.

Please excuse the terrible editing, I'm on my phone. Getting this for xmas, but it isn't my usual style. Need help styling it. Not pictured is the long sleeve white blouse with a peter pan collar, a blonde shoulder length wig, and a headbow in the same print of the dress. Couldn't decide between a collage or sloppily shooping it all together, so have both.

Or since I have the pink shoes already, should I not try to shoehorn the red in and only have pink or mint accessories?

i personally think the red could work beautifully if you limited the accessory colors to pink and bright red exclusively! you'd be hard pressed to find a "dusty" red that matches the stock photo. i would suggest red footwear, a red beret, pink blouse, and opaque socks with a pink x mint or pink x red design. the headwear, brooch, and socks you've picked may "underwhelm" the coord. this dress does look difficult to coordinate with bright pastels, so you should opt into muted pinks rather than baby pinks. last thing is that red jewelry would really balance out the harsher colorblocking you're looking to do. sorry for sperging and word vomit but i hope it helps!
