Are there any of school pieces made out of quality linen, has vm made any pieces? I feel it would be suitable for simple monochromatic pieces especially with cotton lace, surprised it's not really a thing. Way better drape than some of the full cotton pieces which can be a little crinkly sometimes.

I already acknowledged the shirring isn't for fatty sizes, but it's both aesthetic and functional. No one has to be obese to realize a full shirring garments does things like negate the need for a zipper or allow various sizes of (non fat) people to still have a fitted bodice look without having to make smaller sizes for smaller people. There are sizes besides petite and obese, and full shirring accommodates the petite and below-obese range people without having to make multiple sizes. This is just a well known fact about lolita garments that shirring is intended to help with sizing flexibility.
