10522891 No.10522891 [Reply] [Original]

Baby's new chocolate strawberry print looks like it is going to give AP's chocolate bear one a run for its money.

>> No.10522895

I genuinely like btssb’s chocolate print and I’m not even a sweet lolita. I would buy it except it’s completely different from what I already own.

There's something about the strawberries that make me autistic enough to want to put the dress in mouth, fortunately I don't wear chocolate prints

I agree with you and I'm so happy I managed to snag some pieces from this set......
But don't fucking forget to link the previous general in the OP.

I feel like I'm the only sweet lolita that hates chocolate prints.

Maybe I'm just salty because I developed a chocolate allergy as a teenager and haven't been able to eat it for nearly a decade.

I always avoid chocolate prints and doughnut prints. I don't know why but I have a weird hangup about it. I have no problem wearing other foods like Honey Kek or parfaits or cakes. But somehow I think I'd feel like frilly Homer Simpson if I dressed in chocolate bar prints or something like Melty Cream Doughnut.

fujiwara-san has posted a couple of tweets over the past months which really don't reflect well on her desu. i mentioned one here that she posted and deleted a few months ago where she said she "doesn't want to associate" with people who don't wear lolita, and basically gave off the feeling that she looks down on them. some japanese lolitas replied basically saying it was a shit take, and she deleted the tweet.

this new drama is because she posted a tweet saying she feels that there is currently a classic lolita boom, and insinuating lot of new people are casually buying pieces but will "graduate" from lolita quickly (suggesting these people aren't "true" lolitas). some japanese lolitas replied or posted on their own accounts that they were hurt by these words because they are the type who bought a few pieces slowly to begin with, either because they didn't have more money, or because jumping into something like lolita takes some confidence. others were upset because although they want to buy more, there isn't enough stock.

What I don't get is, if she doesn't want to increase stock, then just...don't? Just say, "I'm sorry, but we cannot increase production without sacrificing quality. As our brand is concerned foremost with providing qaulity products, we are unable to accept any more orders." And maybe have a system where people can say they're interested in a sold out item, and if there's enough people who want it, then hold a reservation for a later release date.

If she's worried about losing customers, well, AP has bloodbaths all the time and people just keep going back for more.

What confuses me even more is that IW has a Special Members program for the loyal customers who spend over $2000 on IW in a year and they already get priority in reservations. So how are these customers still not able to get the items they want?

I don't know, I just feel a lot of these are non-problems. Either way, the designers are getting noticed for their work and IW is getting money. Maybe there's more happening behind the scenes that we don't know of, but man, this is not a good look for Fujiwara-san and IW.

Lor threw her hat in the ring after the twitter trending furry debacle. As much as I dislike Lor's cadence and speaking habits, this video was high effort for her and I like the outfit changes.

Also kek at that jab at the UK comm again on the headstones in the section about football.

the problem with dreamwidth is we need a lot of people to make the move and be active, it's website is clunky and difficult to use, and the platform preferences rpers and their communities for games. uploading images is difficult but the one plus I see is how fun/easy it is to code and make beautiful tables for images/sources.

Lol denise hates the rp community, there's just so many of us that they can't ignore us, our paids keep the site afloat.

I agree with >>10529761 though, the site works for rp because LJRP grew into the format of LJ, not the other way around, making it all about dense text and formatting. A modern lolita platform needs something that's much less clunky for uploading and posting images. Even in the LJ days I hated using egl for image-heavy posts, lacemarket and the style of modern social media apps are way better for our purposes.

agree and it's honestly tiresome. i stopped browsing for a year, came back, and it's worse. i try to be decent in every thread but all of the lolitas screaming newfag (who themselves are probably newer to the fashion and have directly supported brands less than me) is getting old.

i think it's due to an unfamiliarity with general chan culture. a lot of newer gulls probably think 4chan === be mean, but board culture on smaller boards isn't necessarily like that. and when people are mean on other boards, it's usually in a funny way. hardly anything anyone posts here is like that. gulls just don't have bants.

WHY do you think there's currently a sweet boom?

I hav some ideas
1) there's more people coming into this fashion through youtube ,particularly Lor and Tyler, and since the majority of famous lolitas on Youtube are sweet lolitas, there's more demand for sweet
2) The sweet lolitas that joined the community during the 2010s when OTT sweet reigned supreme and old enough to have enough money to splurge

I'm not into lolita at all but I recall seeing someone say video game collection also boomed during corona. It could be something that's happening across many different hobbies. People who haven't lost their jobs have a lot more money than usual from lack of social activities and travel and are bored too so they deepdive into collection hobbies.

Yeah I had one EMS package shipped the day before the ban started, which took 3 months to arrive, but from May on I was ordering regularly and received items quickly. I know there are a lot of restrictions in California, so I’m sure it’s a bit in part of finding room to ship international shipments to the SF location, but also partially due to the fact they now have twice as many orders to process, plus dealing with their own local restrictions.

Oh yeah it definitely is. Not just collecting, but hobbies. Now that you've said that, I'm thinking about it. There's more new cosplayers, more new soapmakers, more new youtubers, etc etc etc. Basically every hobby I've seen that takes time+money to start up is suddenly having a boom of activity.
