I'm wondering if Candy Fairy will be next, with a late summer release date. It's a solid piece with fairly simple construction, so the manufacturing should be faster than for SC where they have to print all that fabric.

Nakayoshi Bunny makes the most sense as a winter release.

It seems like the fabric printing would be extremely time intensive, especially for a release that huge. There's a good chance that SC is the largest release AP has ever done, after all. Plus if you think about the logistics of fabric printing, it makes sense that it would take a while. We're not talking about graphic tees, we're talking about multiple yards of fabric per dress in multiple colorways. Printing probably doesn't happen in the same factory as construction, so add in some transport/shipping time as well. And when it's time to make the garments they have to cut and line up the print properly and there's a lot more fabric waste.

For a solid release they can skip all that entirely.

It's not AP's fault people scalp but the claim that anything they could do to combat it would definitely hurt their business isn't inherently true. Maybe not these ideas exactly, but I'm sure AP like a lot of business could do things that would work out better for customers but just don't, not because it would ruin them financially, but because they just aren't fixing what to them isn't broken since they make profit either way even if they change nothing.

It is a perfectly fine business choice for AP to keep doing things how they've been doing things and makes sense for them to not change if it works for them. Unfortunately, this is just inaccurate. If they're offering anything in colorways, printed or solid, it will take roughly the same amount of time to print. So even a solid pink two yards will take about the same amount of time as two yards of a detailed print to make. You're right that it probably wouldn't be in the same factory that construction takes place, but this is true for printed vs. Solid colored JSKs. Construction may take a bit longer, but the actual printing isn't any more difficult.

We're already doing it. To begin with western market lags so far behind Japanese and Chinese market because western lolitas don't even buy firsthand. Most of them buy secondhand, and then the dumb ones and the fat ones already buy replicas -- you can always see some in the ita thread, there's always a steady stream of people willing to take shortcuts.
