I know multiple people who got scammed by Americans, who would let their creditcard company withdraw their payment to PayPal once their stuff had arrived. Instead of putting the buyers account in the negative, PayPal withdraws the money from the sellers account or puts the seller’s account in the negative. (Also after the seller had already won the initial dispute.) PayPal’s seller protection doesn’t protect you against creditcard claims. Sadly doing Friends and Family payment doesn’t fix this either, as they can still undo these payments through their creditcard companies.

In the case of a close friend, the person in question had a lot of good feedback. It wasn’t until they contacted comm members that they found out this person had a bad reputation. So I still wouldn’t fully trust someone’s LM feedback. I also know one instance were the sellers negative feedback to the buyer got changed by the LM mods, so the scammer remained with good feedback. After hearing so many horror stories from comm members, I rather don’t sell at all unless it is in person. But I can definitely understand the friends and family payment for more expensive items or non-refundable deposits.

PayPal fees are there because of credit card fees though. This is a normal cost for a business. An SS I used switched to only accepting PayPal so they could avoid paying cc fees (they used to accept cc directly).

If the SS didn’t charge these fees they’d be paying money out of their own pockets to cover the costs of the items buyers want. Companies do write of CC fees but those fees are also built into the item prices- the only difference with an SS is that they’re transparent about it.

Before they started messing with it I was consistently getting 800-1.2k likes on posts with 4,000 followers but every time they change the algorithm it fucks up the reach. I have noticed multiple accounts that I follow, that have around 20k-30k followers, only have 1k-2k likes on posts. It might have something to do with the Instagram algorithm, which everyone is complaining about in their stories. Yeah, I bought it and while I like it, the print does look a bit like taobao. I think the main reasons are the mismatched colors between the lace, front lacing, print, and belt. Aside from the print tho, the construction is a little messy, the lace on the straps of the dress are completely unfinished, just cut off at the ends; the bottom lace hangs a little long; and the stitching is a bit wobbly along the edges. For what little it cost I do like it, but it shows how little Tyler knows about construction and quality by not bringing up any of the issues it has.
But I was also surprised about the attached petti and honestly that alone would make me support that brand again, I just hope she gets her color matching a bit better.

As someone who prints fabric this is not the case. first of all, even in China, for a nice fabric, you are looking at LEAST $7+ a meter unless you're ordering 500+ meters. And that's for factories where you have very little oversight about where the product is coming from, and who is actually making it. Plus, you have to pay customs duties and any company doig digital printing is using the same equipment that spoonflower uses. If you want screen printing or rotary printing, the price goes up to account for the cutting of screens, and the minimum quantity skyrockets.

People use spoonflower because it's consistent, local, and pretty easy. You dont have to have a relationship, or try to navigate customs and language barriers to get what you want, plus spoonflower is well known for re-printing in the case of errors etc.

I know the pic you're talking about. The blacklolitacommunity instagram was trying really hard to find it a month or so ago and finally did. It's on their page. They said it used to come up a lot when googling black girls in lolita fashion but was lost for a bit.

I think when they do runway shows a few brands have used black models before (even Meta did in like 2018/2019 with one of their plus sized friendly tent dresses I think and people complained the girl looked ugly). I doubt for most of them it is any sort of genuine disdain at large for black girls.
