What's the general consensus with sanrio coords? (with sanrio collabs and with coords inspired by saniro characters as I've seen a lot on social media)

Is it ethical to buy a replica to use the fabric to make things like pillowcases, masks, coin purses, etc.?

How safe is the annual secret santa on cgl (like from scammers who doesn't send out anything or do lower than the minimum) and how does it work?

How does someone iron/steam a dress if the lining is attached and there is a built-in petticoat?

>> No.10574205

>>10574201
Do you have an actual steamer, anon? Or just an iron with a steam function?

I would highly recommend buying an actual steamer for lolita in general, but especially for dresses with special construction like that. Even small handheld travel steamers can work wonders.

>> No.10574208

>>10574205
I do have a steamer (3 actually because my parents go crazy at the thrift store for some reason) I have a handheld, "my little steamer go mini" and then 2 regular steamers. The hand held one looks grows because of mineral deposit but I'm going to clean it out with white vinegar like the internet told me i should.

I'm just scared of 1)burning myself because it said not to tilt it on the directional video but some videos I've watched online have people tilting the steamer and angeling it with the dress 2)steamer residue? I've heard about them online idk how bad they are tho

>> No.10574210

>>10574208
Oh, I have that same steamer! A personal one and one at work, I used to use it at work pretty regularly when my coworkers were taking up all the Rowentas lol. As it says, definitely do not tilt it- it's basically a glorified teapot. You're best off hanging your garment from a door hook or something similar to steam so that you can keep it upright.

Also I've had the mineral buildup issue as well, it's pretty common. My larger steamers tend to get very little buildup even when I use them regularly but when I notice the water getting a bit grody I fill the water tank with a bit of vinegar (at home) or soap (at work) and shake it up and then give it good rinses until it's running totally clean. That should clear it out pretty well.

If it helps, I've not had any clothes be damaged or have residue left even when I steamed them when I was too lazy to clean out the buildup, but it does give off a bit of a gross smell sometimes if you don't.

update: I put white vinegar in it and turned it on and it started spraying at my wall (like pew pew pew.) My guess is that it would do that with water so I think I'm going to have to throw it out unless there is some way to fix it and I don't think I'm qualified.

it has to do with the acidity and the amount of water in the vinegar, you can dilute it and do this though, but you want to do like 1:10 ratio or so.

>What's the general consensus with sanrio coords? (with sanrio collabs and with coords inspired by saniro characters as I've seen a lot on social media)
Misako does it, and AP released a Wish Me Mell collab this season, so I don't see how it could be wrong. Mostly people say you need to make it a regular coord inspired by a character rather than a costume of the character, so no props or anything normie/costumey. Pic related.

>Is it ethical to buy a replica to use the fabric to make things like pillowcases, masks, coin purses, etc.?
No, because it still financially supports the replicamaker. If you had already accidentally bought a replica as a noob, then you could repurpose it, but I'm sure the brand designers would not approve of paying for a replica if you're aware of it.

>How safe is the annual secret santa on cgl (like from scammers who doesn't send out anything or do lower than the minimum) and how does it work?
There is a squad of volunteers who send gifts to the people who got scammed. To sign up, you fill out a Google Form when the link is posted. You can go find the past year's form to look over it and find the link to the rules inside it. If you miss the sign-up deadline, that's too bad. If it's your first year, you will be limited to lower tiers. If you have proof of good seller feedback, that's a plus. If you are afraid to lose money on the exchange, save your money to buy yourself your own gifts and sign up only for postcard tier. The fun of secret santa is in the giving.

You might not fit MM. They're cut for titty even less so than the other two.

Yes, I always try to keep in mind that people have lives but it also isn't that hard to drop a package off at the post office or set up pickup. Especially after more than a week.
Her TOS says nothing about shipping. She doesn't have a ton of feedback either but all of her seller feedback says she shipped quickly.

And yes, I messaged her last night but she hasn't seen the message yet.

>>10575841
Thank you. I'm verging on leaving negative feedback at this point but don't want to be too severe just yet. I initially (after buying) asked her to ship so it could get here before the 20th and she said not to worry and that she would do it long before then...
Whatever happens I will mention the amount of time it took her to ship and our interactions so other gulls can see as well.

It's supposed to include skirts and salopettes, otherwise it'd just be written as "dresses" for jsks/ops.

Think of one of AP's releases. The items most gulls will be paying attention to will be the dresses, jsk, also the skirt that has the main print to it. Those. Those are the main pieces. Everything else is "matching", eg- matching headbow, matching socks, matching blouse to the release, and so on.

1. Has anyone ordered from mintymix lately? I placed an order on Thursday last week and haven't heard anything since then. My last order was several years ago and the shipping was always within a day or two. Just wondering how long is normal to wait?

2. Anyone ever had a "Scheduled for delivery as agreed" on DHL tracking? I'm in the US and the order is from ClosetChild. My delivery date was estimated as today, but instead of an "out for delivery" scan, I got the above message. I didn't reschedule delivery or anything. Their shoe quality is great. I've owned six pairs and all of them have held up very well, even to daily hard use. For stuff like creepers and platforms I'd recommend them over other brands like strangecvlt and demonia. I've had issues with the platform soles cracking on both those brands even after minimal wear, but never on my killstar ones.

If you have a very wide or high/thick feet (pic rel) I'd recommend going half a size up, though! Some of their styles are pretty tight through that area of the foot, especially the heels.

For other stuff, everything I've bought has been good quality but mostly way overpriced.

My graphic tees and other printed type items have been really durable and look nice in person, and I've not found alternative sources for those styles that are equal quality for a lower price. So if you want something like their tees or leggings I'd go for it. Howoever, the socks and other accessories I've bought have been basically the same as Dollskill or any taobao/ali brands. Not total garbage but def not worth the Kiillstar branded mark-up. Also the quality of their dresses and other "fancy" items is pretty trash, but that's obvious just from looking at the pics.

I've heard killstar shoes are horrible quality, especially their boots. I'd buy from antania, angelic imprint or even dearmylove instead. As for their clothes, as somebody who has bought them and kept nothing, it's the same quality you would get in forever 21. I've been lucky with sizing personally, but many people have had bad luck with size m fitting like xs or m fitting like xl. I would only buy from killstar when they have a sale, which is very often, never buy from there full price.

It's a fine dress. Just make sure you're wearing a nice headdress, a-line petticoat, good legwear and shoes. I find that usually it's not the dress, but the way you coord them that makes it "ita". Sure, there are some terrible dresses out there but if you get Nameless Poem from a legitimate source (whether it's secondhand, reseller, from the actual shop via SS), you shouldn't have any problem.

Also, don't worry about the ita thread. Stop browsing if you get self-conscious while going through it. It's just a joke thread with some "badly dressed" people with a range of silly reasons being from the wearer is too fat, the colour doesn't match to a tee.. etc. I would also suggest keeping the worn photos to yourself and not create a public presence, if you're paranoid about being posted.

Many fatties sell things that didn't fit them so they either saw it and knew it was too small if they're smart or if they're borderline standard sizes they likely tried it on and knew it wouldn't zip so nothing got stretched if they didn't try to squeeze into it. You can usually tell from photos and you can always ask for more pictures. The one I'd definitely say avoid is idiotinkorean cause she seems like the type to squeeze herself in and she is always doing those annoying "urgent" sales at prices that don't make sense for the market and never sell unless it's really desirable.

To those with experience ordering from Meta, particularly their more recent dresses.

So I recently pre-ordered this JSK from Meta, in plus size, but I'm freaking out that it's going to be too loose. I am actually slim, but have a 97 cm bust (hourglass figure) and most Lolita dresses don't fit around that area.

However this one has loads of shirring. I have seen actually fat/plus size lolitas try on other plus size JSKs from meta with almost the same measurements and they fitted well, while still looking kind of tight, so idk if the dress will be too loose or just right.

Do meta dresses run bigger/smaller/true to size? Is their shirring really that stretchy? I had an Innocent World OP that was fully shirred, with almost the same bust measurments and it was way too tight.

Meta have told me that I am able to change the size in the order before it is shipped.

Regular size bust is: 86cm - 120cm
Plus size bust is: 94cm-140cm

Should I go with the regular size or plus size?

looks like they're just a taobao reseller? Taobao will ship directly to certain countries and even if you don't live in one of those places, do the math and a SS is probably cheaper

Is it looked down upon to remake waist ties/removable items from dresses into accessories?

>> No.10583016

Has anyone ever purchased from Kitty Wood Designs? I purchased an item and have not received any communication from the seller. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback from them. They also go by katticake on instagram and no response there either. Thank you in advance.

Thank you, anon. If you don't mind me asking, what is your bust circumfrence and what regular size dresses do you have?

Do they just fit nicely without being too tight?

only by retards. they're your clothes, do whatever you want, just don't whine if the resale value goes down as a result. I've made waist ties into headbows before.

NAYRT but the regular size says 120cm but usually meta's full back shirring can go to 130 comfortably. you'll be fine with the regular one, but I don't think the plus would be too big either, just unstretched.

btw, the plus size is also longer, good if you're tall.

Thanks for that. Yeah I'm aware of the length. It's 103 cm long. I'm not tall lol, so I'm leaning towards the regular.

I used to own this OP from Innocent World. It was fully shirred and the listed bust measurements were 85cm-119cm, but I had to sell it because it got too small.

The measurements are nearly the same as the Meta JSK (bar 1cm) so that's part of why I thought regular size would be too small, initially.

I guess IW just runs a lot smaller, especially the older dresses.

Is it a bad idea to wear Rococo Bouquet if I'm a deep autumn?

>> No.10583378

>>10583139
Even full shirred IW is still cut for smaller people (the shoulders, the bust darts etc) so it still isn't a very good option for plus sizes. Alongside that even with items like partially shirred skirts, their supposed max measurements are rarely accurate, usually at least 6cm smaller because the elastic tends to be very tight.

How rare is ap jewelry? Is there limited amounts they produce? I’m looking for two specific sets but can’t find it anywhere on the damn planet

Have any of you ordered secondhand from France before? I did two weeks ago and my package hasn't moved an inch and I'm curious if this is normal for France post.

Also, what are your fav places to order lace topped OTK/UTKs from?
I'm thinking of ordering from Meta but don't want to pay that much for shipping just for socks if there's a better option.

>> No.10586841

Do you mean lace topped ones?
AP/Btssb us stores ocassionaly have some in stock. Outside of that you're probably better off just ordering online.

I entered a reservation lottery for BTSSB recently, but hadn't recieved any updates on whether or not my entry was picked. About how long does it take them to let people know they won? Do they send out rejection emails, or do I just wait indefinitely?

I just replied saying I want to keep the second release items. I imagine due to the release date, they're afraid of people forgetting about them and then backing out.

Ok. I ordered from Meta last night and the auto reply says “ If your payment is not confirmed in a day, your order will be canceled.”
But other parts of their website indicate that their customer service department is closed on the weekend. Is my order getting cancelled? Do they mean only during business days? I’m nervous.

I always heard they run very thin and small. You may want to go a size up, unless you have particuarly thin and dainty feet.

I own 2 different styles of Bodyline RHS and for me they fit true to size. You could get a half size up if you're worried. Their heels on the other hand run a half size or so large.
