During the last release of the Topping Heart jewelry I got a necklace and a ring, then panicked when I saw that it wasn't in my order history so I kept refreshing to see if some came back in stock and it did, so I made another order, necklace and ring, same color, which showed up in my order history. First I got some data related to Candy Fairy OPs and head bows that didn't mention JSKs at all. I took a mental note of it, but at the same time thought my info might just be incomplete. I later got some other data about the 20th Anniversary MTOs. The wording in certain parts was pretty particular, specifically mentioning CF OPs but yet again omitting JSKs. I think AP expects and wants a certain amount of releases to "fail" like this, particularly these basic/solid pieces. The OP sold out, and I'm sure they sold plenty of JSKs as well, so I'm sure from their perspective it was a big success. The "sell out every item instantly" model is actually really really bad, and has led to a lot of small jfash brands failing. MMost customers won't fight through bloodbaths or wait for rare restocks. You lose the majority of customers when they can't just go to your site/store and buy stuff.

AP knows that some releases won't be best-sellers and uses that to keep their inventory in good shape. rn AP USA has 20 different series in stock, which is good. More variety = happier shoppers = more likely to actually sell those dresses.
