Before this thread gets nuked I just thought it was worth pointing out that eCheck don't signify a bank/card has been unlinked (you can't actually unlink bank accounts from Paypal within 6 monthd of a transaction.) It's most likely a security measure because Z's probably had a string of failed bank-funded transactions or similar, leading to negative paypal balances. Even "instant" refunds usually take a few days to show up in the buyer's account unless the person doing to refunding had a sufficient paypal balance and, let's be real, Z probably withdraws/spends every penny the second it arrives in her account.

If the eCheck doesn't clear, Paypal will just send it to collections. Buyer will get her money back, kinda seems like she's just trying to draw attention to herself for clout.

An eCheck only happens during a refund if there is suspicious activity with a seller's account, such as they have a high number of disputes, tried removing their bank/cc information, or didn't approve a refund.

So basically, if you get a refund via eCheck it means the seller was not willingly trying to refund you and wanted to scam you.
