I love tea sandwiches, but they're so much last minute prep I think they're easier for smaller groups. I was thinking more like bringing proteins, toppings, and some spreads. That way, whatever your dietary needs or tastes, you can have something. Things like onion jam, roasted tomatoes, grilled chicken or pork, grilled veggies, etc.

It looks like a pie crust, not puff pastry. Would hardly call a hand/mini pie a danish. The point of the envelope is that it looks cutesy, and the main thing doing that is the heart cutout on it, not whether it's special or unique in any other way.

I'm also a lonelita but don't mind it. I like doing things on my own or with my (non-lolita) friends. A picnic with other lolitas sounds nice in theory but I'm too intimidated and anxious to ever show up to one. I plan on wearing nice coordinates and going on walks to the park myself instead, and maybe I will make a few small cakes and have my own tea party.

I don't know if this will be helpful for anyone, but I am lactose intolerant and I miss having clotted cream for scones. I found a recipe for a nondairy version. I have not tried it yet but I will once I get my hands on some lecithin.

Might also be good for anyone who has comm members who don't or can't have dairy.

Ah, is this you? If you're looking for vegan versions of foods, I'd really recommend https://thegentlechef.com/
He's got some recipes on his website, and I have bought a couple of his books as well. I find it worthwhile personally as he really does try to make foods as close to the non-vegan version as possible, rather than just approximating stuff with blended cashew nuts everywhere.

Personally for tea parties I like to make stuff like veggie sushi, which is relatively non-messy for people to eat, and which is served at room temperature so doesn't need to be kept hot for a long period of time. Charcuterie-style boards with crackers, crudites, houmous, tapenade, lots of olives and dried fruit, are also lovely. Platters of fresh berries and fruits are a nice break from the usual sweets and cakes (though if you want to make vegan sweets, most of the time you can substitute aquafaba for eggs, even in meringues and macarons)
If people want hot food, soups with bread are popular in my comm.
