I didn't watch this release, but that's highly suspicious. The 5-minute cart system means that even if people clicked quickly, the quantity would still show up until people finished checking out.

I also find it hard to believe that every color of these would instantly sell out. They aren't popular pastel colors. I'm a sweet whore and I scrolled over them in the release announcement. I would bet either Paris screwed up correcting the quantity when listing them, or maybe they forgot to withhold stock for the general release? But again, I still doubt the sashes were even that popular. I'd honestly keep an eye on the page because Paris might "restock" them in a few hours.

Just saw this on Rufflechat/FB.
What the fuck did AP do? This is basically my worst nightmare.
I was under the impression that AP makes more as extras to avoid things like this (and it's obvious that MTOs like Toy Doll Box and Toy Fantasy had extra made because of how many times they were offered for store renewals).
I'm wondering if this isn't the only person who got an email too.

What could have happened that AP has all but their dress? What a bummer and one of the worst dresses this could have happened with. Scalpers will be panning off their fulfilled mto orders at above retail pricing on lm and fril and this person somehow missed out on their dress.

I’ve never met a person in SF who exclusively spoke Japanese unless they were old. Most people visiting the shop speak English or Chinese. I'd love to know what people who say this shit do. Every job requires some basic knowledge of the product, every responsibility of operating a retail business falls on the employees. Especially dealing with customers with rancid personalities who genuinely believe they have more inherent worth than them.

They have to order product and find ways to deal with garbage product sent from corporate, deal with invoices and shipping, make sure orders are fulfilled, keep track of inventory, loss prevention, make sales goals, make displays, manage the employees themselves, their pay and schedules. It's basically a small business, which are generally not easy to run.

But yeah, everyone who works in retail totally deserves to live in their car and if they were less stupid they would pull themselves up by their tea party straps and get a better job. What dummies.

99% of people can work retail jobs. That’s why they are entry level to the workforce jobs that pretty much any high schooler without any work history can get unless it’s a managerial position. Retail isn’t hard to do, it just sucks to do. Most people grow out of it, and those that don’t don’t deserve to be paid more if they don’t have a skill set worthy of a higher paying job.

It's because people don't realize that there are different jobs within retail with different pay structures and responsibilities. They think everyone is a sales associate only.

Although generally, those other positions do get paid more because they do require more specific skills, but depends on the company and scale. I do think boutique workers like brand shopgirls get pretty robbed unless they're making commission, because as you said, it's way more responsibilities than say a sales position at H&M or whatever. If you had space in your brain to spare after projecting your insecurities, you might have some room for some critical thinking. I don't work in retail. Everyone who works in retail isn't a pimply teenager, plenty of people with advanced degrees have to work in retail, and retail, like literally any other profession, has more than entry level jobs, and even the entry level jobs vary depending on who you work for. And yes, some positions even require extensive knowledge, skill, and experience!

>>10677163
It would be a good incentive to pay them commission honestly. I don't know what their in store inventory level are like, but really fug garbage seems to eventually sell or disappear from the website. So maybe they're doing something.

Like it makes no sense to me to disparage retail workers. The foot soldiers that enable the brands you love so much to actually make money and exist?

Clothes can be too big for someone, yes that is possible. But the few cm size increase is not the kind of thing causing a dress to hang off of someone. As someone else said the only place where the smallest end of people truly got sized out on a re-release is HC which was an outlier for a lot of reasons and they still re-released a lot of other cuts in smaller sizes too.

People often explain brands doing multiple cuts is a workaround for only offering one size. Idk if that is totally the case but since the JSK supposedly fit the same as the old one if people knew the OP was going to be a little bigger they can also buy the JSK. That's what people who have issues with measurements being too small or cut poorly for them do. It's normal. No one is entitled to the cut of a dress they want in a particular size. Not the fattasses and equally not the thin or particularly small and/or short people who are supposedly swimming in a dress with the only difference being a couple cm more shirring either.

If you're sized out by most stuff do you just take things in or never buy anything even slightly big? And by sized out do you mean you're regularly smaller than the minimum measurements? Not trying to fight, just curious as someone who has things fit a bit baggier a lot and takes mine to a tailor.

>> No.10678442

For reference for everyone discussing SC sizing, remember the 2009 OP had these measurements:
Bust: 88-98cm
Waist: 69-78cm

And the new one had these:
Bust: 90-102cm
Waist: 74-82cm

In order for someone to be sized out on the small end given that the shoulder width is supposedly the same, someone would have to be significantly smaller than the minimum measurements. Which are only 2cm smaller for the bus (which is a bigger deal for fit and could be harder to adjust for) and 5cm on the waist (which is easier to fix with waist ties, corset lacing, etc. and the shirring helps.

2cm difference is not exactly "sized out" and that 5cm waist difference gets made up quickly by the waistband of your bloomers and petti anyway. The biggest issue is that AP has potentially gotten the measurements wrong. Someone talked upthread about another brand having trouble with sizing and what they did to fix it. If AP really did get the sizing wrong that's an issue which bigger and smaller people alike have been trying to say.

It's not about whether the dress should fit someone big or small or not. It's about brands who sell primarily online not having accurate enough measurements for people on the top and bottom end of the size range to be able to shop with correct information. It also kind of hints at quality control concerns people have been having or suspecting with AP lately.

Most people buy assuming they need some space for ease. So yes, it is sizing out of customers by changing the measurements that much. Your assumption is that increasing the high end isn't just increasing the ease for another group of customers.

>> No.10679342

>>10679321
If you were so far below the old minimum that 2-5cm in a shirred dress with corset lacing and waist ties makes it somehow soooo huge on you, they were never catering to your size to begin with. Being sized out on the small end has nothing to do with the max measurement changes, only the change to the minimum.

Stop larping as an uwu smol bean and take the L. If you don't like that fatties are wearing the same print cause you like the moral superiority of excluding them just say that. It's kinda cringe but say it. I'm like 4'11 and thin and have more issues with length than other sizing from AP so all the pretend petites or ana chan larpers are getting old and sound dumb as fuck. When stuff really doesn't fit just take it to a tailor poorfag.

>> No.10679355

>>10679342
That's my point. Before 5 cm before was no big deal. But they've added onto that for the minimum. I do fit older dresses just fine so I was part of their market before.

you were not sized out because you were never sized in to begin with. you just happened to fit it based on the measurements. if you fit older dresses just fine and were not too small the 'i got sized out by this extra 2cm in the bust' is not true anyway.

ap has similar sizing on most releases but that can fluctuate between cuts and some pieces fit some people and some don't. that's not being sized in or out every release that's you having a size and the dresses having a size and picking sizes that fit or altering it.
