Oh ho, my favorite genre of convention lore. The two that stick immediately to mind are the bucket and sharpie bath incidents.

The Bucket Incident gets bonus points for being documented and available online.
To recap the comic canon, Trolls find buckets embarrassing because they're used essentially as condoms to house reproductive juices. I've seen them likened to condoms. This quickly became a meme within the community online and... unfortunately irl. The joke was even well known by people outside the HS cosplay community at conventions because HS cosplayers would scream, hoot and holler at the sight of one. I heard whispers that someone got hit in the head by one from some dumbshits throwing them around. This leads us to the titular incident. A table full of goobers go to a restaurant (presumably around the con) in full costume and start spitting in a bucket and passing around, all while giggling and making a scene. Here is said video for your viewing pleasure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXM7uFKz5yE

And one of the original posts recalling the tale of the Sharpie Bath is actually still active from 9 years ago, so I'll link it instead of typing it out myself: https://cancerously.tumblr.com/post/19022310014/homestuck-sharpie-dying-horror-story
Supposedly there were pictures, but it was unclear whether they were fake-for-funnies recreations or the genuine photos. My heart is with the poor hotel staff that had to clean it up. I would love to hear their story.

Anywho there is much much more history to be told and much of it is available online through retelling or the occasional gem still active. Homestuck "Confoolery" as one tumblr blog put it, has largely died out -- which is perhaps a good thing for all of our sanity -- but the legends live on.

I was super devoted into Homestuck. I made so much fan content, even had 21 fan characters.
I did my best to ignore how bad Homestuck was declining. Every Homestuck 2 update just continued to devastate me and Pesterquest wasn't doing any favors. By the time they cancelled 2 I wasn't even fazed anymore, just bitterly happy that they failed. I sure as hell wasn't gonna read another thing by Hussie after all that and, from what I heard about it, sounds like I dodged a bullet.

There was the funny one that showed up on the Sci Fi speed dating show. I hate HS cosplayers just because I had a pretty decent cosplay ruined by body paint of one of the POS when it was being chased by another. It grabbed a hold of my red jacket and cape which smeared this paint all over it because they don't understand sealing.

Homestuck got banned from my local small-town con from 2012-2014 for several reasons. The cosplayers were just cretins all weekend. Paint everywhere, broke the escalator, inappropriate tackleglomping, hitting everything with metal buckets and dumping a bunch of green jello on the convention hotel floor. I still think the sharpie bath story is bullshit. While I wouldn't put that kinda stunt past a Homestuck cosplayer, there's not enough evidence to substantiate it being true. And some people have pointed out some of the logical improbabilities in the story - like the fact that the girl was somehow soaking in that solution for two hours and was still conscious when they opened the door, the fact that sharpie ink is purple when diluted rather than gray, and the fact that people claim to have a photo but no one has seen it.

Same, although what soured me on Hussie is the epilogue that just shits on the fans that made Homestuck what it was because Hussie is an overgrown pretentious manbaby who was pissy that everyone liked his comic for the wrong reasons.
That is, they liked it for its humor and characters, rather than its nonsensical story. When I was a teen I practically worshipped Hussie as an inspiration, but now as an adult I realize he had his strengths and weaknesses as a writer, and he's a little bitch baby that people liked his characters more than the story because he's better at writing characters than plotting.

There was a trend in the fandom for a while of panty-shots thanks to one cosplayer who did so in a photoset for a particularly perverted character. It was in-character for the cosplay, but after one popular cosplayer did it for a set, it became the thing to do forever.

Was part of a local homestuck cosplay group for a few years before I stopped going to cons. Seeing as most of the people in the group were teenagers at the time, who lived and breathed Tumblr, there was the general cringey stuff that one expects from those types of people, but I had a few interactions with truly unhinged members of the group.

Became friends with this one girl I met at the second meet up I went to, was friends with her for a few months before I stopped associating with her all together. She was absolutely mental, Endlessly clingy to anyone who gave her attention, constantly talking about suicide and depression among other things, and didn't react well when I told her to fuck off and to stop expecting everyone to deal with her problems. She spread endless rumours about me to other mental cases in the group and new people who joined the group, that resulted in a few messages telling me kill myself; she also stalked my social media and IRL at later cons.

A few smaller incidences happened later with people who associated with the previously girl once I left the group all together.

I think pornstuck would have continued to be a thing had the people who partook in the sub-sub-sub-culture remembered that people want to see ATTRACTIVE porn stars and starlets, and it wasn't enough to just be naked.

person that read homestuck here.
Close. Trolls reproduce by both of them jizzing into a bucket, and then that pail of goo is dumped into a big queen egg-laying grub thing because trolls are technically drone insects. This is the ONLY thing trolls use buckets for (don't ask me what they carry water in for mopping, knowing them they just use some kind of slug roomba instead) so it is an inherently sexual object to them, like a fleshlight, if people used fleshlights specifically as breeding phantoms rather than just to masturbate.

presumably before trolls were a galactic species spread over lightyears, the pair would just cum directly into a mother grub. But it's been so many millenia since that was last the case that the only real surviving evidence is still having the term Motherfucker despite not having a concept of direct parentage anymore.

then again, since so much of troll tech is bioengineered bugs that it's possible mother grubs are just an in vitro fertilization cloning vat sort of dealie, and Trolls lost the ability to naturally reproduce long ago.
