It's just the end result of a bunch of bad hair choices. For most unnatural hair colors, if you fuck it up you'll end up with the same result as everyone else who fucked it up.

Basically they're aiming for cute blue hair and failed. You have to dye your hair to near-white (which really requires lots of salon visits and $$$), or else the blue will just fade to green. Then, you have to constantly retouch the blue color, and use special shampoos for it (also more $$$$). These people are lazy slobs so they just slap some manic panic on their shitty hair and think it'll be cute, and then don't do any maintenance.

The same people who are too cheap and tasteless to put together a nice outfit are also to lazy to manage such high-maintenance hair colors.

What you're saying about bleaching has nothing to do with what anon was talking about, which is natural fading from poor care. Most likely these started out as more of a miku aqua or teal, but usually people dyeing at home will refresh it before it gets bad. Also everyone knows that you can't bleach out hair dyes most of the time, especially these unnatural semi-permanent ones, so if they are bleaching it to remove it, that's on them. For what you're saying, not really correct. Certain aspects of green dye do stick to the matrix better since green is just made of blue and yellow pigments but they are generally just ugly yellow and blue undertones from the base color and that has nothing to do with the overall pigment sticking. If you do a little research you'll find that green is notorious for fading a lot in a short time, and most semi-permanent dyes in general need constant reapplication to look good. I actually have been dyeing hair for years professionally and dyed my hair green a few times, so please educate yourself a bit before acting smug.
