A friend of mine has a similar issue, though his traveling is because his main job went remote and it's literally cheaper for him to travel the world living in Air B&Bs than to live in California proper.
What you probably need (and I agree, will be a little difficult to pull off) is a woman that's willing to either A) work remotely and travel the globe with you or B) give up her career to be a housewife on the go.

Photography is the worst way to meet women at cons. There are a billion other guys trying to do the same thing and at this point so many CosPhotogs have been exposed as creeps that it's just the default assumption about photographers these days, and even in the best cases you just end up being a tool that cosplayers can call on when they need good photos.
I'm a former photog who kinda bucked the trend because I got into shooting cosplay after I was already dating a cosplayer but was already a pro photog in real life, and I became reasonably well-known and was able to avoid the standard cosplay photog stigma and become friends with a lot of cosplayers because they knew I had a girlfriend and wasn't doing it to try and get laid, but even with that much better start it still didn't help me one bit after I broke up with that GF.

In my experience the best way to get a cosplay GF is to be a cosplayer and do your thing, and meet women organically through it without going out of your way to look for them, it's how I did it with every cosplayer I ever dated. I'm not sure how easy that is these days though, it's been almost 9 years since I broke up with my last cosplayer GF and I haven't even attempted to date within the con scene since.

What worked for me was learning how to flirt first. From a social perspective, there's two barriers to flirting with someone:
- Recognizing an appropriate moment to flirt
- Actually choosing the right words
Dating apps solve the first problem, since flirting is appropriate there by definition. I know that for a lot of men deciding to flirt is a huge barrier, much bigger than choosing which words to flirt with.

Those kinds of clubs and activities were illegal and heavily shunned so even though it occurred people would not be as open about it. We also don't have porn search data from back then to compare because internet porn didn't exist yet so you can't say they weren't. Plus women were busy actually being genuinely raped by their husband's at that time anyway which was legal for the men to do. Even with that there WERE women who engaged in kink stuff and men.
