But, could I get some opinions on a Roxy cosplay I'm putting together?
Do you guys agree that her skirt is white, and her legwarmers are grey? I know those are the canon sprite colours, but I've seen pink skirts and pink legwarmers. Even pink shoes on occasion.
And one more thing, are off-shoulder shirts considered alright for Roxy if they're reasonably fitted?

I think pink skirts work really well too, but that's up to you. I dislike off-shoulder shirts because they aren't canon but are so overdone that looking at a roxy with a canon shirt would be way better.

though her shirt is a T-shirt in canon..so if you're going to avoid the fan-colors, I'd avoid the fan-style shirt as well.

Not a problem at all, dear. I tend to like Roxy's that have white skirts, but I don't think I've seen one that did the legwarmers grey. Really since the sprites aren't colored, I'd say go for what color scheme you would like to do.

A lot of people here tend to not like the off the shoulder, since it's not in sprite/pages, but if it's a fitted shirt, I'd say go for it.

No, seconded. Neat, even application of makeup, good highlighting of the eyes, no fraying edges. The Vriska's hood stays up because she put stuffing in the end so it looks pretty damn good from the front, her horns are lovely, and she's wearing fangs. The Aradia's hood actually has the buttons for utility.

It's a really interesting effect and canon sprite-wigs are nice to look at, but in the long run, it could do to be styled just a little bit more naturally. The fringe is great and so are the spikes, just need some... I guess blending where that big fault line is to make it a complete style. I suspect there's very little going on on the sides and back, and this photo is posed to minimise cartoony or uncanny valley effect. That's not really going to fly in a convention scene, but it could be nice for photoshoots.

I made my horns with a soft wire skeleton. The wire was a bit longer than I wanted to make the horn. I made the horns completely, with the wire bit hanging through. I just thread the wire through my wig, adjust the horns a bit, and they stay on just fine!

okay, my own personal freakout over the update aside, it looks like she threw it together quickly.

The wig is far too of a solid blue, the pink streaks aren't visible at all, and the shirt's inaccurate because the drawing itself lends into the style the WP shirts are and it looks like she just swapped out the sleeves on a regular tshirt.

As for Murtunacaptor, I've seen his Psiioniic in real life, and it's actually really poorly made and badly fitted. His makeup is a mess too. The only reason people like it so much is because of photoshop and good photography. Same goes for the other two in his ancestor group, actually.

I met him at Otakon, and while his cosplay isn't the absolute best in terms of construction (personally, friendleaderp's Psiioniic is the most well-made I've seen), it fits him great and his makeup was perfectly fine. The other two in his group aren't bad at all, either; the Disciple could probably use new horns, but honestly they're all pretty good.

also, cowbuttcrunchies is the cosplay blog for the fancy dreamer Rose and Dave (the Rose with the big dress and the Jaspers cameo). She also did that Jadesprite with all the ruffles recently. no idea who aniilaugh is, though.
