I think it makes enough sense for quickly discerning outfits/aus, since the -stuck makes it easier to recall (as opposed to an actual title).

That being 'bloodstuck' is silly though. It's not an AU or special outfits.

Since someone was asking about Jane earlier, I figure I'd ask my question too. I'm trying to find a good pair of oval glasses with a light blue rim, and they're really hard to find for some reason outside of kids sizes. I was thinking one of these two glasses, especially since the site does prescription. Thoughts?

Because the fandom is larger. Assume 1% of every fandom is batshit insane for whatever reason or another. If you're in a fandom with 300 people, 3 of them are batshit, you just ignore them. Homestuck has what, over 2 million fans? That's 20,000 people. That's a whole fucking lot of batshit insane people. Most people are awesome, but that's still 20,000 people who are out of their fucking minds.

Okay I personally just wanna be able to track what I post now, pfft. Serious question here. Who would you recommend for commissions? I don't have enough Skill or time to learn the skill of sewing right now, and my mom's not really available to help me make any cosplays. I was just wondering if I should do my best to make it out of clothes I can find or just give my money away and commission it? Or should I just try my best to sew it?

Both of them are talented seamstresses who put a lot of work into their cosplays. You won't run the risk of getting a piece of garbage that's been hot glued together and has loads of raw edges and thread hanging off.

Whatever you do, don't commission Heaven.

And be prepared to spend a decent amount of money. A single person is not a Chinese sweatshop churning out eBay cosplays. It is one person handmaking clothes specifically to your measurements.

If you wanna start cosplaying in a...well, serious light (even though dressing up as a bunch of alien and kids from a webcomic isn't serious lol), you gotta practice with sewing! Start out simple, like with hand sewing simple parts of an outfit. Then as you go on and can get a machine, use patterns for simple outfits.

If Rose, you can go a bit heavier on upper-lid eyeliner and dark lipstick. Most cosplayers go for black lipstick, but a dark plum also looks very nice. Fill in your lips beforehand with a lip pencil (can someone verify if it's okay to use an eye pencil for this?) so you don't get awful cracking when you move your mouth.
For eyes, I want to say to reference the Heaven picture in OP, but there's something really off about that to me. Is it the smear of shadow at the corners?

despite not wanting circle lenses i would probably still recommend pinkyparadise? depending on the diameter of your iris, if you get them in smaller diameters (i.e., 14.0, 14.2) they shouldn't have the same effect as circle lenses would if you got them in 14.5 and 15.0 sizes. Hey CGL I have a generic circle lens question. I've worn regular contacts for years but this is my first time wearing contacts that I keep for more than a day. I want to pull out my Aradia costume again but what should I do to make sure the lenses are safe after a few months? I use an all-purpose solution to store them in.

They definitely need disinfecting. I'd suggest getting the travel-size Clear Care. You put the contacts into the special holder it comes with, run some of the solution over the contacts, then just submerge them for /at least 6 hours/.

I use it on my regular contacts (I have two-week contacts), and it's wonderfully simple to use.

Cosplayers for the most part want attention to some degree. You put effort and money into something, and get recognized for it in turn.

Female cosplayers already have a bad reputation when it comes to the girls ready to make out for each other for the sake of their ships.

I can't even say that bothers me. It has to do more with the fact I don't enjoy seeing people sticking their tongues down each other's throats. Better to just find a more secluded area that is not where everyone in the gathering is looking to.

Anyway, I haven't heard that rumor. But that rumor is kind of applied to the cosplay community as a whole, so it makes sense.

Okay so my cousin is going with me to a con next year and she wants to cosplay dog-tier jade. She doesn't have any previous cosplay experiance and the design looks a little difficult. Im very unfamiliar with homestuck so are there any other versions if jade that are easier? Also tips would be appreciated.

BIG TIP: Please, please, please. Make sure she doesn't do the buck teeth thing. Jade/John/Jane cosplayers have a tendency to stick their two front teeth out on their lower lip, thinking it's an overbite. Overbites do not work like that at all. If she's gonna do an overbite, the teeth should be partially over the lower lip, but not completely out. Google images for reference.
(Sorry, my biggest pet peeve with Jade and etc cosplayers are the damn OVERBITES and how wrong they are).
