Also, taobaotrends fucked up my order. I know my package was repacked in Beijing's customs, and things are missing - that's not their fault. In the last thread, an anon asked me to review this wig. It arrived yesterday, so I took a bunch of photos! They (and my comments) will follow this post.

My background: I have never worn a "proper" wig before (only cheap ones), so I might comment on things which are general to wigs. I apologise in advance.

First impression: I loved the colour, very true to the photo. It did look shiny in the light, though very natural outdoors. The brown fibres of the wig were much less plasticky than the coloured ones, and of slightly better quality, in my opinion.

First reaction on opening: OMG SO PRETTY. I was a bit wary as it was slightly shiny.

Here is the wig in the mesh, freshly unwrapped. This is the "shininess" with my flash on. It's not quite as bad as this; the flash on my camera is really aggressive - you can see my pale white skin to see what I mean in a bit.

So I got it out to play with, and straightaway it started doing that wig-fibre-tangling thing with the blue/green hairs underneath - like, where its so fine it just starts to clump and attract dust like a motherfucker.

I quickly and gently combed it out and then assaulted it with hairspray to combat this. I took a photo whilst still tangly.

So I recommend you style/protect your wig as soon as you get it. Once I hairsprayed it thoroughly, it behaved itself.

Now, my first reaction on putting it on - grumpy from being woken up by the postman - was "shit, that is a LOT of hair." I felt kinda ridiculous. It's really, really thick. I flattened it down for the remainder of the pictures, which looked better, but yeah, I plan to take some thinning scissors to it.

I took 2 pics next, one with the curls in front, one where they are behind me, to try and show how much hair there is. It's quite heavy in the back - I had to use 4 bobby pins at the front because it kept slipping back on my head...! I resized it a bit and that helped. This could be down to my wig n00biness, though.

This is me with the hair hanging down at the back - the front (brown) layers are shorter, and so this is how it naturally hangs.

That's what I've always learned, but I started out as a cosplayer... Buy those V shaped hairpins and pin it in next to the skintop of the wig with the prongs facing forward (so the tip of the V facing back). Two at the temples helps, too.

I don't really have a tutorial on hand because I always figured it was Wig 101 common sense when you're first getting into cosplay or w/e...

Also you should try cutting bangs into it maybe, it doesn't do your face shape any favors.

See, I've never worn a wig for cosplay... I used my real hair. The only time I've worn wigs before were for fancy dress parties, when you just shoved it on your head and called it a day.

I knew I needed a wigcap and to pin the wig, but that's all I knew before getting one.

And yeah, I am planning to cut it - I only got it yesterday, so I reviewed it as-is.

I don't want bangs though - I plan to thin it out throughout the brown part so it looks more like my real hair, which should make it follow the shape of my natural hair as well.

I am from US and never have had a problem with knock offs (NOT TALKING LOLITA BRANDS) ever. I am also the one asking for proof that Chinese customs opens every packaged. Because if they DO then why haven't any of my counterfeit items been destroyed (items not hidden at all) since the point of opening each box would be to find the counterfeits? I googled this and couldn't find anything... So far we have 1 screenshot in this thread of a package going to the UK that has an entry 'opening' on the breakdown and that's it...

I mean really... imagine how many parcels go through Chinese customs. Think how many people they'd need to employ to get packages sent out in a timely manner.

I don't think you guys understand the meaning of Opening.
Opening does not mean they dig out everything and thoroughly search through it.
If they dig through everything, that is called repacking. You will receive a tape on your box that says it has been repacked.
Opening means they open up the top and look at the TOP of the items. I Emailed Taobaoring about this months ago. This is only with boxed packages (so not that little $.99 free shipping shit you got off eBay) and usually only occurs with SAL shipping.

I'm a reseller, so I almost always ship EMS, however one package I shipped SAL because it was a TON of extra stock that wasn't needed urgently. It was super slow by itself (about 5 weeks) then customs held it for 12 days, then slapped a $185 dollar fine onto it.
My EMS packages (about 25+ thus far) have never had a fee/delay.

Depends on how much you're getting from the same store.

If you're getting a lot of heavy items from one store, domestic shipping will be cheaper compared to buying them from individual stores.

For one item, it is best to not exceed 2 kg unless it's really worth it.

1 Package. ALWAYS with one package.
The first kg is always more than every additional kg!
The only time Taobaoring has to split into 2 packages is when you use SAL and it's 30kg or more, they will split it into 12kg's, 14kg's, or 16kg's.

I didn't know it until I saw it in a screencap James (taobaoring) sent me cause intmail web doesn't work sometimes.

All packages via SAL on Chinese tracking says "Opening." It doesn't stay there, as another anon says it gets replaced when the package is about to get discharged, and from there, the tracking will show up on USPS's website.
This is a picture of my last two orders from Taobaoring.
They arrived in perfect condition (sorry for tearing up the first box, I was angry).
I had customs from China take items out of my package. I could NEVER get a hold of them, even through Taobaoring. I contacted my local as well as the USA customs department and they did not look through it. China's customs did.
All China post via SAL is OPENED.
This DOES NOT mean it was dug through and searched!
Please understand the difference!

ALSO! Taobaoring DOES NOT USE yellow tape. They use CLEAR tape on their packaging. So the yellow tape is from China post.

THIS is the tape that says "Repacked by China post". This means that this package was dug through and searched thoroughly.
This DOES NOT happen to all packages, but all packages are opened (notice plain yellow tape with no text on it).
If your package looks suspicious (mine had a bunch of sex toys AT THE TOP), then yes it will get dug throughj.

My top package has A LOT of yellow tape on it, because it was searched thoroughly, as mentioned before, and yes - items did get taken out of it. My package must have looked suspicious when they first opened it, which led them to dig through everything and find things that were replicas/illegal to them.
