SOOOOO WHO IS GETTING IT?

dang, now that I see the jsk in that lavender gradient... I want it... oh well, maybe second hand.

>> No.6707913

It's really nice, but there's just something a bit off about it for me? Don't know. Think I'll head in and check it out first hand if I can before I make a final decision. The art is really nice, though.

>> No.6707912

I got a hold of a ss too late :( I bet that it is going to sell for higher prices than Sugary Carnival, second hand.

I've got the JSK from that series, and just from the pictures alone AP's is a lot nicer art and style-wise. That, and it won't be crazy thin/will fit well/won't eat 2 decent pettis.

>> No.6707946

>>6707933
Well yes... but when I first saw the scans I thought it was the Bodyline print... had to do a doubletake. The framing around the horses and the lines up the skirt, just looked so much like the Bodyline one to me that I couldn't get too excited for it.

>> No.6707949

>>6707921
do you mean ivory or lavender? there is no pink colorway.

>> No.6707956

It looks more like the JetJ carousel print or Sugary Carnival than Bodyline's. Daydream looks like a more grown up version of SC. I like that they are rehashing SC with a twist instead of just re-releasing it.

>> No.6707965

>>6707949

Sorry, yeah, I meant the ivory. I was googling something with pink in it a second ago and had a derp moment.

>> No.6707968

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but is the AP English website and AP San Fran going to be stocking this series on the Saturday too?
I always get a little confused.

Really sucks because I'm attending an event that Saturday. Now I feel really paranoid about having to constantly refresh those websites. It would be nice if they didn't necessarily stock that day, but then it's anyone's guess as to when they would.

>> No.6708052

I'm going to try. I like all the colorways, but I only like non-halter JSK. I really like the sax colorway, but I'm guessing that and lavender will be the first to go. I have an alarm set on my phone to remind me. I'll be at a convention this weekend so I'm praying the internet is actually reliable.

>> No.6708056

I reserved a spot with an ss but it's not guaranteed. It looks like AP is going to make this a restricted release of only max 2 per customer as they did with chocolate rosette? We won't know for sure until the day before. I'm hoping it'll reach the AP intl site on Saturday. AP SF may be getting it too, but they are usually a week late. Last resort is buying it from a scalper on Mbok, the prices would be ridic though

The thing is, if they did that, while they would gain some money on re-releases, they would lose some of the hype on the fact that desired prints are limited. Japan Lolitas take their shit for granted and now have other properties such as cult party, Mori, otome. Lolita is just dying out. Hopefully brands can stay afloat but its going to be hard. I'm a truer Lolita than you silly burrando chan:

I'm obese and sometimes I like to buy really rare prints with my government assistance money, like the nordic Lotta jsks, and force them over my massive sweaty rolls of fat.
I listen closely at the seams pop and I hear the sounds of 1000 lolita's heads exploding and bursting into treats.
Afterwards I help myself to a cheddar cheese block that I bought at Wal-Mart for tree fiddy and proceed to wipe the grease on the front of the dress.
Later on I call my girl Oo Jia and ask her if she's made her blood sacrifice to our replica-chan goddess which requires the blood of 666 authentic Milky Fawns.
While my cheese is converted into lard in my belly I like to coordinate my ripped Lotta jsk with bodyline bags and headbows and go shopping at my local mall because I'm so stylish like that (no wig of course).

Then...at the very end of my day anon...do you know what I do? I boil the dress and eat it. I am one with the Lolita.

Never mind the fact that the American dollar is still shit compared to the Japanese yen and thus makes new dresses all that more expensive.

Ten years ago when I got into lolita I could get roughly 180 yen per dollar. Now you'relucky to get around 95 yen per dollar (which honestly is me rounding up.)

There's more into play than just replicas. Sure replicas are available and people purchase them. But the quality is crap compared to real brand and will not satisfy, construction and feel wise, someone who already owns brand and knows a good quality dress.

I would say it's less to do with replicas and more to do with the Japanese economy tanking. The bigger brands are doing well enough because of their popularity, but it's always good to support brand. Those brands are less popular, and it's always the less popular businesses to go under in a bad economy. Stores for expensive frivolous clothing close because when people fall on harder times, they spend their money on needs instead of frilly dresses. It's not because fatty-chan, 5'9"-chan, and minimumwage-chan bought a replica.

ETC-loving fatty chan here. I'm actually large enough that even the larger shirring items won't quite work. (In some cases they would "fit" but still not look good and I don't want to be THAT girl.) I am right on the borderline of a few recent prints - it's good to see the brands making larger stuff but heartbreaking that I still don't quite fit.

In the meantime I buy a lot of brand accessories to support the brands I love and wear handmade dresses that hopefully fit me properly. I refuse to buy replicas as I feel it's art theft, and I think it not only hurts the brands but if my fellow fatties weren't always running off to Oo Jia I'd like to think that we might have more viable plus size indie brand options by now.

I'm not sure if it helps but I just tried on my whip showcase ones and they are definitely tight tights, could use a wash for sure to try and loosen them - or some prolonged wear. the fabric goes thin at the knees and less opaque but the print 'snaps' back into shape after stretching around the leg so it isn't warped. I'm 5"1 and there's some wrinklng at the knee joins so it can stretch to fit a taller person. I would advise against maybe anyone over 5"5-6 though as the material is...well don't use your nails pulling them up much because they feel fragile enough to start pulling with little effort.

it all comes down to a lottery to see who gets in first anyway. if you use a shopping service you know that it's a risk you take ( your ss may just draw the last number) not much you can do but wait and see, pretty sure Cadney is aware of this and is a lot more dignified inthe way she handles her shiz than octavekitten.
