If anyone has any sales horror stories, or "wtf" stories, weird shit on the fb sales group, general sales stuff that grinds your gears, post it here!

Oh and, anon who went through that really terrible ordeal with the French seller who kept all her payment plan deposits because she was hospitalized, a feedback mod finally addressed your negative feedback about a month ago, apparently they want more information before they add it, I highly encourage you to respond because that seller should have a negative on her account, definitely.

1. How do you even mistake those dresses for each other
2. When they say "max 120cm" they don't literally mean that you can max out those measurements, good lord

She probably got confused because on this brand list it -does- report that the thing can go up to 120cm. In fairness. And this tumblr is used a lot by plus size lolitas. What's more likely is that she's over 120cm and just doesn't know it.

My beef with people on these comms is when you give of shipping quote of 10-15$ and then they turn around and ask what's the tracking number is after you shipped but failed to ask about that during their PMs. Even though I specifically say, your cheapest option is.....

I sold BL Fruit Parlour Skirt and quote 15$ to ship and the girl didn't say anything till the day I went to ship it out and then asked me for the tracking number.... 10-15$ doesn't buy you a tracking number.....and it was under 50$....

Buyers ask question before you seller send out packages, this is the most annoying thing ever!

>> No.6738912

>>6738906
You really should ship with tracking though, to protect yourself as a seller. And be more clear to the buyer ie "the cheapest option is X, it takes about Y days, and it doesn't come with tracking"

>> No.6738915

>>6738906
Instead of just saying cheapest option, specify that it's the cheapest option because it doesn't have tracking. Or before getting a shipping quote, ask them if they want tracking or not.

Plus sized here. Well, very lower end of being plus sized, I just have big tits. I do use that guide roughly, and all the dresses I own are on that list.

At any rate, you have to consider that even though it may stretch that far flat, it won't look very flattering worn. Namely, because it's made to fit something closer to the smaller size in question, but with some ease to allow larger sizes fit into it as well. However, it's not really made with your typical western 120cm bust person in mind at least when it comes to tailoring and cut. Someone with 110cm bust may be able to wear it okay, but over that might be pushing it. Ideally most full-back shirred AP stuff works better when you are close to the 40"/100 cm bust range and below. I'm just slowly starting to get to the point where my bust doesn't eat up the entire space of the bodice on my brand.

I guess this was probably my fault, but I sold a skirt to this chick and she wanted to do a payment plan. Sure. I'd never done a payment plan before, so I just invoiced her the deposit and assumed she could pay every 2 weeks. I mean, why should I have to remind her?
Well, it was supposed to be a deposit and 3 payments. A couple days after the 2nd, she wanted her money back because I hadn't been communicating enough with her. I guess I should have thanked her for the payment, but I didn't realize she'd done it yet.
Really annoying, and I think she gave me neutral feedback.

Not that anon, but there's a pretty big chance we're dealing with people who think that "fitting" just means that it zips up. I'm not especially skinny either and when I give people my measurements they tell me that eeeverything will fit me~! and then I end up having to take things in or resell them.

>>6739556
That said, you can still give them your measurements and ask for the minimum, unstretched measurements of the garment. They can lay it flat on a surface and measure straight across, and while the measurement that gives you isn't the most accurate thing in the world at least it will tell you when something is several inches bigger than you are. It's not rude, I think, as long as you don't make a point of the size difference between you and the seller and keep the focus on the thing they're trying to sell. If they get offended by the fact that you're smaller than them, that's their problem.

I think it's pretty bad that some people feel afraid to be forthcoming about things like this out of fear what others will say. But I think it's better to be honest and get an angry vandetta-chan, than to be dishonest as a seller.

Original anon here. I guess it would matter if you're thin, but I don't really mind if it's someone a bit bigger than me wearing it as long as it's not severely damaged. A bit of stretched elastic just means it will fit me a bit more comfortably since I will probably not see anything smaller than a 98 cm bust. But for someone who is say, an 89cm bust or below it might really matter to them and be a big deal breaker as it's no longer going to fit them. That's sort of why I think it's important to be upfront, if not publicly, at least privately to the buyer.

This is what I do as a buyer - it's a lot easier for a buyer to find the feedback page, since it's required to even have your sales posted.
So I leave my feedback, then PM the seller saying "hey, I got the item today and left you feedback! I'd appreciate it if you could do the same for me, here's my link: xx"
It can be kind of time consuming to find peoples' feedback pages, so I know as a seller, I usually don't bother unless the buyer gives me the link. And again, as a seller, I wait for the buyer to give feedback first, so that I know they're satisfied and the transaction can be considered complete.

Why can't you just leave them the neutral/bad feedback and keep the dress? The point of feedback is so other people know how good/bad the seller is, so if they don't get feedback they might just keep sending out unwashed dresses. I think the stimga of 'neutral' is way too strong in the sales comm, anyway, but it's not difficult to let the seller know that you weren't pleased with the condition you received the dress in, but that you were able to take care of it yourself, therefor they get a neutral but you still want the item.

I have a story of a really annoying seller earlier this winter over the fb sales. Nothing bad happened but it was incredibly annoying.

I was contacted about a pair of boots with general questions like what is the insole size, max calf size, etc. Responded with all the information and even measured my own calves and feet again to give more examples about the fit. I also got her measurements from her to double check since she was so worried they wouldn't fit.

Didn't hear from her until a week later when she decided she wanted the boots. Now, she asks me if the boots can be delivered by X date...which happens to be 4 days later. I tell her if she pays today for 3 day shipping I can mail them to her and they *might* get there. Then she sends me her pp address really late and then asks if I can ship them today anyway (it was already past post office hours) and that she really needs them for an event this weekend (you contacted me 2 weeks prior but you only try to purchase 4 days before you need them so desperately?)

Since there was no way they'd get there I just offered her a refund. Then she asked me if I could hold them until next month where she would apparently buy them again without a deposit... I told her instead that I'll send her a message if someone wants to buy them so she'll have the option to buy them first if she's not going to do a deposit. The next month is filled with frantic messages asking more questions about the boots and if I've sold them to anyone or blah blah.

>> No.6740958

She pays for the boots on the date promised. The next day I get a message asking if the boots will be there on X date...which is again 4 days later. I'm kind of wondering at this point if she's ever ordered anything in the mail. Send the boots anyway...

Few days later get a message frantically asking if she can return the boots and a story about how her calves are too fat for the boots and that she feels ugly and that her relative is in the hospital and she's so stressed out. I'm confused since we apparently had the same calf measures. Check out her profile and see that she is heavily plus sized...should have seen that one coming.

But yeah after 1.5 months of bullshit nope... replied my policy is no refunds sorry. I should have told her flat out no from the beginning and sold them to someone else.

Unsurprisingly, it depends on who you ask and what country you're in. I will say this, though: most Americans live in very small worlds. Especially those who have never gone abroad. They have a hard time dealing with differences in time zones or politics. I once had a girl ask a friend if a nearby town being called "Blacktown" had anything to do with African Americans having lived there. It was kind of hilarious how PC she was trying to be while asking something stupidly racist and stupidly American-centric. Fortunately, this is more the exception than the norm for Americans abroad.

I originally wanted the JSK more than the OP.

OP + Headbow is £30 on taobao before shipping costs, but JSK is £42 on a sales comm without shipping.

The real one had a massive price crash and you can see it pop up frequently for cheap on Japanese auction sites. If you can fit the original sizing, I'd just go for the original JSK.

If you are really set on the DoL replica though... expect some disappointment when you get it and just ask for a JSK to be made.

And don't order the "matching headbow". It's a crumpled up piece of fabric on a bent random wire covered up in more random fabric.

I ended up doing research on my own and some of the things I found out are beyond fucking disgusting. And that's not even touching the massacres that occurred later in the north that I read about. Sorry, I have no respect for the horrific cycles of abuse southwest Indians perpetuate. Men beat their wives, wives beat their children, and children beat their cats and dogs. There are still strong, proud Indians (sorry, we call ourselves Indians, not Native Americans) and well-organized, successful tribes out there. There is no excuse for hard work and self-respect. Peoples of every race and creed have had to stick together to lift themselves out of poverty, and in 2013, why the hell is it still happening? No decent Indian blames the government anymore, not with what we've been given. Life is hard. It is hard for everyone, and if the soul of their people are dead, they should get the fuck out of the reservation.

Indians in the northeast learned trades and worked for their money. Half the fucking buildings in NYC were built with the help of Indian steelworkers. There are thriving Indian-owned businesses and plenty of opportunity for people who want to build themselves and their cultures up. It pisses me off when people think Indians are helpless, pathetic and forced to sponge off the government. Indians in Canada are doing just fine.

I'm not sure how you paid, but usually at that point I would write a message giving the seller the ultimatum of either shipping the item at 'x' date/time or that I will be forced to open a Paypal claim. A week without an update is pretty irresponsible on their part as far as communication goes, and I would make them aware that it's not appreciated.

However I suppose the "weather" could possibly be a legit excuse, so I would probably start the message off with something like "I understand you've been having issues with the weather but...yadda yadda..." Bad weather isn't an excuse as to why she can't respond to you.

I think the problem with plus size sales is that no one has anything to sell because if it's a nice item and of good quality the girl won't want to lose it as items like that are few and far between
The only opportunity really to buy nice items is if a lolita has lost weight and can now fit average sized clothes - this is how I get most of my stuff but it doesn't happen regularly at all
Hence we end up with replicas and terrible handmade shit

>> No.6754486

That and most plus sized brand really work better when you're on the small end of the plus size scale (size 12-16 or thereabouts, a bit higher for full shirring, give or take). And at that point, I just lurk around in the regular facebook group and find things that way. But when you're on the higher end, it becomes really hard to find loliable items offbrand, and most larger plus sized girls I know make their things, but some are better at it than others.

Also consider with shirring, most brand that fits a smaller-end plus size lolita will fit after a person loses weight, unless it's a dramatic change. So unless items are custom-made to fit their measurements, they're probably not going to part with them. I have a few things that I had custom made which I'm considering getting altered now that they're too big for me.

>> No.6754524

Oh definitely. You need to go greater lengths to find it but lately plus size stuff hasn't been selling great on the comm so there is quite a few things available for the people willing to pay. Some stuff is up for weeks before it sells so the tiniest bit of effort will do. So it really does come down to being too cheap for it most of the time. (for reference I'm 6'1 and a size 20 and I'm making IW and AatP work for me with a bit of altering, underskirts and basic dressing skills)

It's against the rules to do that though, even though she posted it...you have to actually physically have the item.

She's really just trying to save herself some money, not paying for shipping and all that.

Being honest about it doesn't mean you can just ignore the rules. It's a rule for a reason. I can vaguely remember a huge explosion of wank over someone selling shit that was still with Mai's SS and Mai doing one of her disappearing acts. It became a big pile of 'who has the money, who has the item, who needs to refund who'.

I didn't even know this was against the rules but I know now to not make the same mistake this girl had (not really sure what the point of the dress with her name next to it was if she doesn't own it..)

>>6756636

I got unmoderated posting after only like a month of selling. It's not hard.

It was more of a confused than angry 'wtf'.. I should really actually apply for unmoderated posting, waiting 6-10 hours can be a pain sometimes.

Seagulls, I need help!

In the middle of march I sent out a package to a girl in Texas. A week after I sent it she suddenly tells me that she forgot her apartment number in her address and I'm just kind of like well that means it's going to get returned to me but I'll go ahead and mail it back to you. She whines about wanting a refund because now she doesn't want to wait for the package anymore. I just tell her it should be a few days because Texas to where I live is about a 5 day mail trip and the package was already on its way... It took me 4 months to sell this item and so I don't want to deal with trying to sell it off again.

She keeps going back and forth on wanting the item and wanting a refund and insisting she didn't do anything wrong and that she gets packages delivered all the time without including her apartment number (dafuq).

In any case it's been 9 days since the package was marked on the tracking as undelivered. It said on the 6th that it departed the sort facility of a major city about 1 hour from my town. It's the 9th today...still no package and no update on the tracking. I'm getting insanely stressed out with this buyer breathing down my neck and I just don't know what to do or why it's taking more than 3 days for a package to get here from a location that's 1 hour away!

I tried calling USPS but they said all they know is that it left the facility on April 6th. Is it worth filing a claim at my local post office or is this normal when packages are returned that they taking motherfucking forever? I just wanna get rid of this thing!

>>6756910
The buyer honestly sounds like they are not worth further trouble, but if you had that much trouble selling the item and need the money, you should have a no returns/no refund policy in your terms- did you?

I posted it through eBay for her is the problem. She filed a case against me at first but then dropped it after I explained to her that I could only use the address they provided and offered her free shipping back (originally I asked her to pay for the return shipping and she flipped a lid.) She actually admitted it was her fault at first but suddenly she's insisting it's not her fault and... well actually I can't understand her. Excerpt from said buyer:

can just get my refund (anon) in i didnt mess up my address i left one thing out my apt.ment # in this not the first time ive left my apt.ment # off of a purchase i made because every website different some ask for apt.ment #s in i realized that in some sites dont like even when i got shipments to my house w/o apt.ment #s i cud track my purchase in go pick my purchase up at the post office if it dont get to my house they ship stuff to tx if it dont get mailed to there doorstep it dosent get shipped alll the way back outta state never happened as long as i purchased online orders it gets shipped to the post office in you pay high dollar money in you cant even track purchases ive already tried long time so clearly i didnt i mess up my address

>eBay

That was a really bad idea. Ebay is pretty known for screwing sellers over.

>> No.6756946

>>6756910

Some googling says it might take up to 2 weeks to return to you. That said, she is gonna get refunded anyway if she opens a case again. I'd just refund her now to get her off your back and keep an eye out for that package and look up after how many days you can file a claim. She is gonna get her money back anyway, so you might as well get it over with and not have the hassle of having Ebay and PP frozen over that package in limbo.

>> No.6756952

>>6756925

Reading that...just wtf. People that retarded should not be allowed near a computer, let alone trusted with money.

If she filed a claim and dropped it though, hasn't she fucked herself over in that she can't now turn around and try and fuck you over? At least you've got that safety net.

I'd like to think that the cgl sales thread would be void of such retardation. Perhaps that's something we can take away from painful stories such as this. i.e. that we need to invest more in cgl based sales threads. I have a feeling people would either be too scared of us or assume we're going to scam them (because we're evil bitches).

And by that 2nd paragraph, I meant she can't reopen a case now, can she? One of the golden rules with using PP is don't close a case because the seller asks you to, because you can't reopen it.

She sounds retarded
Wait till the parcel arrives back to you - 3 days isn't a long time and returns seem to take longer in my experience, refund her the item cost but not shipping because it's her fault she cocked up the address. Regardless of her moans and excuses as a buyer it is her responsibility to provide correct information and be able to receive the parcel at the other end - if parcels get delivered to her "all the time" without an apartment number then why is this one on it's way back to you then? She should of collected it from her apartment office if that were the case, it's her fault for not bothering

I seriously wouldn't bother with her anymore also name and shame please I want her on my blacklist

>>6756733
I mean it's right there with the rest of the rules, plain as day

It creates a lot of "who is responsible for this" issues like other anons have said.

I assume she thought she could get around the rule by having the SS make a "fake" proof sign for her

Awesome I was hoping it was just a returns thing not a my package is lost forever sort of thing... Hoping it comes this week so I can shoot it back out to her before she gives me anymore bullshit. If not I'll just do the refund, finals are coming up and this anxiety is sending me through the roof.
Look out for shawnae from TX I guess.

Like said, if she opened a case and closed it, ball's in your court. Tell her there will be no refund and if she doesn't pay return shipping then you're not shipping it again. It's her fault for not knowing her address.

Has anyone ever bought anything that was sent via Australia SAL? Does it really take three months like I am being told?

I know that other countries SAL shipping is usually pretty expedient but I don't know if it's different/slower for Australia

Actually I do. I have two of the same skirt. I bought another one via the frill people and it's also now damaged.

If you're interested in a long green Ornamental Regimental Stripe by Lief skirt in L, I'm selling a bnwt one with a couple of pulls in not so obvious places.

Fuck. Literally kept this stuffed in a bag for several months after buying it and just taking the tag off. Because I had to go to work.

People who run Frill, if you're reading this; YOU DON'T PUT A POINTY PRICE GUN BARB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GODDAMN FABRIC YOU MASSIVE RETARDS.
