Medium weight interfacing, make sure it's iron on and washable. You should also make sure it's the kind that is still a little flexible and that you can sew through. When you go to your fabric store to get your stuff you can ask someone who works there which one they recommend. And they're called lapels.

Tailoring canvas and interfacing are used in shirt collar and lapel construction and are sandwiched in between the shirting material to give the pieces shape. I think you might be confusing it with something else, or I guess you went to a place that sewed their own shirts?

3DMG part is all finished. Took nearly all week, but its finally done. 100% wood, weighs about 5-10 lbs. Entire ensemble is now nearly complete, just have to make all my blades.

In other news, ironed my patches to my Levi hoodie, finally. I'll have to stitch it down since it's stretch fabric, but I'm pretty happy with the iron-on adhesive. The reference only has the front patch, but I figured why the hell not. This'll be a late night casual outfit, anyway. Hoodie's super comfy, too.

Also finished cutting and shaping the belts (for now) so I finally started sculpting the harness pieces. I made a plaster wrap of my upper leg and am sculpting directly on top of it to get the curve correct. It's sulfur-free clay with foam and a thumb tack on top. The bevel's not quite there yet, but I'm going to let it solidify a bit before touching it again.

I'm casting in Task 13 resin, which is semi-rigid and impact resistant. Once it's cast, I'm going to dremel in some slots for the belts to sit in snuggly so they don't shift (and possibly rig some elastic in for a tiny bit of flex).

The 3DMG box is going to screw directly into this, so it needs to be pretty sturdy. I've got an internal elastic harness that's going to help hold everything up.

That's the problem, hun, my friends who are gonna cosplay SnK are all teensy just like the characters they've chosen so far(one is doing Armin, one is doing Annie, and one is undecided but might do Levi), and they're all within two inches of the height of everyone they've chosen so I tower over them between 4-8 inches. What is everyone else doing makeup-wise for characters?

I was planning to go for a very natural "barely there" makeup approach since you have to balance the "in the military" aspect with still looking appealing as a cosplayer. Would anyone be willing to share what makeup they used for their character?

I'll be cosplaying as Armin and planned on using foundation, brown eyeliner, and maybe a hint of neutral eyeshadow for some contouring for nose and eye definition. Is there any other product you think I should include for this?

Foundation, mascara and blush, of course. Lipstick in a color that's similar to my lips. I'm only using a little bit of eyeliner at the edge of my eye so it just makes my eyelashes seem a little fuller without making it look like I have eyeliner on. A little bit of brown eyeshadow in my crease to give some depth.

For my crossplay I used concealer, foundation, brown liner, a lighter brown liner, black liquid eyeliner that was thinly applied to reshape my eyes (that was then taken down in intensity by blending eyeshadow over it), bronzer and some eyeshadow for contouring.

I find that mineral powder foundation covers my lips without looking like shit or getting cakey like concealers. I went heavier on eye makeup than I usually do for males because Levi... but it really depends on the character, and since you're doing Armin, black liner may look like too much.

There really aren't exact ways to do it, since different faces, etc, but look at what other cosplayers have done, take notes on what you like and just keep doing test runs until it looks good on camera and in person.

Also, I forgot to mention you may want to stay on the heavier side of makeup because I noticed that even though I went rather heavy on shadow and liner, it looks like I wasn't wearing much in photos and my eyebrows didn't show the upward curve on the inside as much as I thought it would. Aside from the lower/thicker eyebrows, try bringing a bit of the countouring from the eyes down the sides of your nose and highlighting the bridge.

This is the first pair I've made, and I'd like to hear some suggestions for improvement! I know the photo quality is shitty, can't really do anything about that.

Anyways, I have a question about a lot of the Sasha wigs I've been seeing. Most of the Chinese/tabao wigs are going for a look that is like the picture attached, but, it does not seem to be actually tied into a ponytail, just in a style that mimics a ponytail wig with a clip-on. I know that most ponytail wigs have issues with stretch/fit. My head circumference is 22 inches, do you think ordering one of these would be risky? I'd go for a Jeannie from Arda, but, I've had absolutely terrible luck with that style in the past. Thanks.

I ordered one and it was too big for me (I figured it would be, anyway and planned to modify it), but since I ended up not liking the color, I didn't bother sewing up the cap to fit me.

I ended up going with my backup taobao reseller one. Basically the same thing, but less fibers to pull it off of your head with its weight and the top half is pulled into a ponytail while the bottom hangs down to cover your hairline. You can tie the top half up to generally not show the wig wefts, but even if you don't, the clip on ponytail pretty much covers the empty spot anyway.

Not sure if the style would work as well for Sasha as it did Hanji, though. Just my personal experience if it helps you any.

Depends how close people will be taking pictures of you. Natural freckles on Ymir's skintone are usually betwen toffee and chocolate brown, so if I were you I'd do less large, dark ones and more smaller, lighter ones. Freckles across the bridge of the nose tend to stand out a lot so maybe go lighter on those too. Otherwise, makeup looks good.
