Before I saw the show I looked at the uniforms thinking "Those are pretty nice uniforms, but those random thigh belts are so pointless." Like in Caitlyn's design.

But then I saw the show and saw how it's all part of a harness to make the 3DMGs work and I was floored by how awesome those were. I like how each part serves a purpose. The jacket is shorter to make room for the gears in the back, The boots are protective against the wear of jumping around trees and buildings and keeping the leg straps in place.

I understand that some people crash after cons in weird ways, but this shit gets old. I'm too fat to look good in cosplay, so I decided to wait until after I got fit to do so, and every time she says she's too fat for cosplay, I just want to suggest that she get fit with me and cosplay afterward.

Of course, she'd just get mad at me and say that the only reason to go to a con is to cosplay (even though I go and just do panels instead) so I lose either way.

I don't usually self-post but it's worth it if a before & after will motivate anyone.

In December I decided I wanted to get as fit as possible by Otakon this year. I was 210 at least year's and was 140 this year. Even if I feel a little chubby in pictures from this year, I hardly even care because the improvement itself feels so nice and I felt much better in costume.

The picture on the left is Ninamori from last year's Otakon (July) and the picture on the right was taken mid-April. I had to clip the back of the shirt and skirt so they wouldn't fall off. (see: how huge the sleeves are) I've been told I look like an entirely different person.

I really can't stress getting fit and healthy enough, and cosplay can be a really helpful motivation. The effort is really worth it. You can do anything if you want it hard enough and put your mind to it.

haha, you're right about the wig. I've been meaning to replace it, I got it for that con on short notice and haven't worn the cosplay to a con since. The only other time I even wore it was when I tried on all my old ones after the weight loss.
Not to make excuses, but the lighting in the room in the second picture is terrible; the stockings are the same ones in the first picture.
The shirt is too big only because that's the point of the post and also because I haven't made a second one. It's also wrinkled because, again, I haven't tried it on since then.
You're right though, those are explanations, not excuses. I'd like to get a replacement wig and overall just redo it sometime when I have the time and money.

It's hard to say since a lot of it was just "wow your current state is really unhealthy so let's just Do Things because any improvement is still improvement."
I used to have really poor stamina esp. with breathing but now I can jog for a long time without any drawbacks, and all I did from the start was powerwalk a little faster than I was comfortable with, starting at 20 minutes, and gradually up the time as my tolerance got better.
I also focused on lots of protein and lean meats and tried to take in as little fats and sugar as possible. (which can be legitimately hard because hahah america)
If you're working towards it, good luck!! You should be proud of any progress you make.

Ah! I'm so excited to get back into cosplay again. I posted up the ideas that I have on the cosplay suggestions thread, but people were telling me I needed to lose more weight.

I started off at 220lbs last year, I've been weighing in at 180lbs for a while now. Kind of stalled out on my gym work because I was at the YMCA, and the Jesus pictures were freaking me out!

But now I'm going to be working out about six times a week now, and I'm switching to a new gym. I'll be among the thin people soon! I can't wait to get started on my Big Sister cosplay, I also want to do Shiro from Deadman Wonderland-

And I also got hooked on Attack on Titan too.

You could lose the weight faster, and with the proper diet can be safely losing 1lb a week. All depends on your diet.

Anyway, as a /fit/izen who lifts heavy things a lot - I can't really see to say if you're ugly or not in those photos. But I'd say you do obviously look better in the second one. Keep losing weight though, and consider adding some squats to it because from that angle you look like your thighs and ass aren't really developed.

So I finished listening to all the available podcasts. And really, it's just too damn tryhard for me. Another Anon here, it's actually really rare that something comes up that makes you realize just how different someone's vision is compared to yours, even if you're like me and almost blind. This is especially so with peripheral vision (I'm missing about 50% of mine). For example, the only time I notice how other people's peripheral vision is if someone does something with it in a movie that'd be impossible for me ("take a look at that girl, no, without moving your head"), or if we specifically want to test each others' vision to judge how blind I am compared to them. And with films you always just think it's exaggeration for effect of course and not that you yourself have that bad of vision.
