So... how can Lolita have it's own board separate from Cosplay? Is there any way for this to happen?

>> No.7089912

I could have sworn that series was called Milky Berry...
oh man, I wish there was a /egl/ or /loli/...
the /loli/ would probably attracts tons of misguided neckbeards though

>> No.7089915

We're already a slow board, it's unnecessary. There is plenty of space here for both cosplay and lolita.

>> No.7089919

I would be happy if there were an alt fashion board where loli would be at home. It would encompass not only j fashion but all alt fashion ( including goth, vintage, etc)
I like the cosplayers of cgl, but I just don't think that loli and cosplay are related enough to share a board.

>> No.7089924

>>7089915
Actually, as someone who is not interested at all in cosplay, it is rather frustrating having to wade through a mix of posts. Even if it's slow, it would be nice to have all EGL content together. Even if it was Jfashion as anon below mentioned, that would be great.

>> No.7089925

>>7089901

We should put EGL and loli porn on one board and cosplay on another.

>> No.7089926

Is there any way we can actually appeal for this to happen?

>> No.7089930

>>7089924
Use the filter to pin anything with the word cosplay to the top and hide everything with lolita, then.

It's not that hard. Don't be a faggot.

>> No.7089932

>>7089924
Wait no, other way around. Fuck. Need sleep.

Use a 4chan extension dammit

>> No.7089935

If cosplay and egl split those boards would be so fucking slow. There just isn't enough content circling for separate boards.
We -maybe- might get one or two good drama threads (like what heroes of cosplay is right now to cosplayers) but for the most part this place is dead enough. And it would be even more dead without the shitposts and trolls stirring shit up every now and then.

>> No.7089936

Beg Moot to the point that he just shuts down /cgl/ forever.

>> No.7089938

>>7089926
It's not going to happen. People have asked before, and when you compare 'I find it so frustrating to hide a handful of threads~' to the level of shitshow that some other boards have to deal with, we are not exactly moot's top priority.

>> No.7089950

That is Milky Berry... I don't know why it says Strawberry Parlour.

>> No.7089965

>>7089901
This is already a super slow board and cosplay and lolita are related enough. Some lolitas actually sew and may get tips on how to sew things from the progress threads. The fashion is weird enough as it is. Then there's wigs... often times cosplayers and lolitas share advice and tips for buying the best wig, how to style it, etc. Face it, most lolita don't know shit about how to style a wig and cosplayers do help a ton.

>> No.7090002

Ever stop to think that by having its own board, more people may be apt to posting? Since it would be more organized and easy to navigate through posts?

>> No.7090014

Whoever can't use the catalog at this point is a retard to begin with and shouldn't post. There's nothing complicated or difficult about using it to find a related thread to post in.

I use the catalog. I never said I didn't so I don't understand why you are making an assumption from thin air. Also the catalog has nothing to do with my original point, that it would be nice if there was a specific lolita or jfashion board. The catalog still has to be searched through, things still have to be read, in order to find what is or isn't lolita.

This.

Instead of being a pussy about it and going "b-b-but I don't like seeing lolita so go away!" he can just hide our threads and posts by filtering them out in the catalog.

The board is C GL, both groups have always been allowed to post here, it's not changing any time soon. IF it ever changes at all, it would likely be the addition of another fashion, though last time that was discussed, general jfashion was denied entry to cgl and told to fuck off to /fa/.

I wish there was a place for general non web alt fashion as well. Goth, vintage, k fashion all used to be discussed here until the mods killed them and now they have no place to go. They aren't welcome in fa and aren't allowed in here. I also miss all the inspiration threads, dress porn, show porn, etc that used to be in here but is now murdered on site.
I think that splitting the boards would allow that to return. I am the one who wants an alt fashion board where loli would be dumped and a cosplay board.

/fa/ only enjoys monochrome, prep, or grungey styles. Pretty much anything 'mainstream' but creative, if that makes any sense. They hate anything with more of a juvenile or ... out-there sense of style. Lolita is pretty much blasphemy to the majority of them.

>> No.7090304

This board is already fairly slow, and splitting it in half will just make things worse. There's definitely overlap between cosplay and lolita (we both talk about cons) and I like checking out lolita threads even though I come here for cosplay.

Saying "I don't like seeing X threads" is just an infantile excuse. I presume most of you haven't put any money into 4chan so you don't have any influence except consumption. Since this is a free service, you have to take your own steps to improve your browsing experience.

>> No.7090319

>>7090304
I see a lot of "this board is already so slow" arguments. What is so evil anout a slow board? People will discuss what they have to discuss and then go away. Why is it bad to have 2 boards with a total same number of threads rather than 1 confused board?

It IS possible people people would check it out if they knew it was just for fashion. What probably keeps a lot of lolitas away is the constant cosplay everywhere.

None of this matters.
Unless you can cook up a good enough argument to get Moot to separate them, this isn't going to happen.
Arguing here isn't going to solve anything.
So go rally a few lolitas on q I guess and beg Moot to split the board, although I'm sorry to disappoint anyone, but I don't see this happening.

I don't need a separation of the board. I want inclusion of alt fashion even if it isn't Japanese and a return of the inspiration and off topic but still relevant to the people here threads. I feel like splitting the boards would allow that but I am fine sticking together if we could have that.

>> No.7090707

There's a difference between content and discussion boards. The porn boards are content and /cgl/ is discussion.

When a board slows down, people start leaving because there's nothing new there when they check, causing the board to slow down further, leading to an inbred population of exclusionary hardcore posters.

Like it or not, a community needs fresh faces and a moderate turnover, otherwise it just collapses into stupidity and elitism

>> No.7091292

I would personally love a board for alt fashion (including EGL/EGA/Mori/Gyaru/J-fashion/K-fashion/Vintage) but I agree that it would be extremely slow.

To be honest, I think /fa/ would suffice as a place for all of this. The biggest problem is of course, that /fa/ has built this extremely toxic culture as a board, and don't welcome threads on these topics.

My idea is to change the demographic of /fa/ so that these threads ARE accepted. At the moment, /fa/ is populated almost soley by males only interested in 'monochrome, prep, or grungey styles', as the previous anon stated. If we change the demographic of the board, the culture will change, and that means those of us on /cgl/ interested in these topics need to start posting and contributing regularly to threads like these on /fa/.

I would say start off small - no EGL because that does belong on /cgl/ at the moment, but general J-fashion threads, heck even discussion of high end designers/celebrity fashions/latest runway trends would be a welcome change on that board.

There will be a lot of shitposting at the beginning, and a lot of comments along the lines of >>/cgl/, but if we have enough people posting and contributing to these threads, they should become more accepted. I can't see them being outright banned or deleted because they ARE related to the board.

In other words: /cgl/ takeover of /fa/. Anyone interested?

>> No.7091297

>>7091292
I agree with this, actually. /fa/ should be a board for ALL fashion-related topics and that includes alt fashion

>> No.7091304

>>7091292
That sounds like a pretty good idea. Really, the only reason there are no alt fashion threads there- or even just high end fashion threads- is because of the people on it. If there were other seagulls interested in participating I'd be in for it. Especially threads for female fashion.

>> No.7091309

So basically, we need a /d/, but for fashion stuff?

>> No.7091310

>>7091292
This so much. Honestly at the moment they may as well rename /fa/ 'hipster'. Half the discussion there isn't even about fashion, it's about "the effay lifestyle". I would love to see more threads on there about alt fashions and female fashions

>>7090335
And as a lolita, I'd miss the cosplayers. You're helpful and crafty, you know way more about wigs than we do, and you're the only legal pipeline of drama in here nowadays.

I can't imagine that people who think the level of thread-hiding necessary here is intolerable have been on ANY other boards. This board has a very high ratio of good to shit threads, and it's slow speed = slow thread creation = you don't have to hide many new threads (other than that one homestuck one that pops up ten different times a day).

>>7091292
And everyone else whining about /fa/: Yes, /fa/ is a total shitpile. Going and posting better, relevant and interesting threads is great, but you're probably not going to stem the tide of that toxic board culture. Going there and posting lolita, jfash, or otherwise making a "lolz epic raid seagulls poop on yr face" nuisance of yourself will only stir shit.

>> No.7091319

>>7091313
anon never suggested we stir shit, they just suggested we go to the fashion board to discuss fashion we're interested in. If posting alt fashions in the fashion board does stir shit, maybe moot will see that there is a need for an alt fashion board, but all I can see happening is that /fa/ becomes a little broader

>> No.7091317

>>7091310
>Honestly at the moment they may as well rename /fa/ 'hipster'

>> No.7091328

>>7091313
as >>7091319 said, it's not about stirring shit. We'll be creating and contributing to our own threads, not fucking with the rest of the board. It doesn't automatically have to be a "lolz epic raid seagulls poop on yr face" thing - grow up.

>> No.7091330

>>7091319
I didn't think anon intended to stir shit, but I could see that being the result, especially posting /cgl/ content on their board (jfash or ego). Mentioning that you're from /cgl/ would also be a bad idea. I don't think a respectful "retro women's fashions" or "ny fashion week" thread would go down poorly, but I also don't think it would have any impact on what /fa/'s like in a week.

>> No.7091333

>>7091328
Grow up? I'm not the one who's demanding another board change dramatically because I'm too lazy to use a filter for threads I dislike.

>> No.7091335

>>7091330
It doesn't need to be an immediate change. I just think that a lot of people are scared to post on /fa/ because of the general culture of the board. If there were a lot of people contributing to these threads, it would give these people somewhere to discuss topics that don't really fit on other boards. A board's culture is determined by those who contribute.

>> No.7091336

>>7091328

that IS stirring shit, I don't know if you understand that each board has it's own culture and customs, essentially going into another board with new culture and customs is stirring shit.

If another board came in here and decided to do what you're recommending you do to /fa/ then the whole place would sage and report. It's just how it is

>> No.7091341

>>7091333
This has nothing to do with the separation of cosplay and EGL for me. I'm interested in both. I'm talking about needing a place for topics that don't belong on /cgl/, like J-fashion or EGA, aka fashion-related topics that should be able to be discussed on the fashion board and cannot be currently because thhey have a toxic culture

>> No.7091348

>>7091341
Jfashion (including EGA) does explicitly belong on /cgl/. Read the rules before you complain about them.

>> No.7091351

I'd be happy just to have a regular women's fashion board that would accept some alt fashions and talk about seasonal trends in fashion (and maybe even makeup). I can imagine threads about formal wear, vintage and retro, nice ballgowns and gloves, stuff like that. Basically, an /fa/ that isn't /fa/. That's all I want.
