We're already a slow board, it's unnecessary. There is plenty of space here for both cosplay and lolita.

I would be happy if there were an alt fashion board where loli would be at home. It would encompass not only j fashion but all alt fashion ( including goth, vintage, etc)
I like the cosplayers of cgl, but I just don't think that loli and cosplay are related enough to share a board.

If cosplay and egl split those boards would be so fucking slow. There just isn't enough content circling for separate boards.
We -maybe- might get one or two good drama threads (like what heroes of cosplay is right now to cosplayers) but for the most part this place is dead enough. And it would be even more dead without the shitposts and trolls stirring shit up every now and then.

This is already a super slow board and cosplay and lolita are related enough. Some lolitas actually sew and may get tips on how to sew things from the progress threads. The fashion is weird enough as it is. Then there's wigs... often times cosplayers and lolitas share advice and tips for buying the best wig, how to style it, etc. Face it, most lolita don't know shit about how to style a wig and cosplayers do help a ton.

The board is C GL, both groups have always been allowed to post here, it's not changing any time soon. IF it ever changes at all, it would likely be the addition of another fashion, though last time that was discussed, general jfashion was denied entry to cgl and told to fuck off to /fa/.

I wish there was a place for general non web alt fashion as well. Goth, vintage, k fashion all used to be discussed here until the mods killed them and now they have no place to go. This board is already fairly slow, and splitting it in half will just make things worse. There's definitely overlap between cosplay and lolita (we both talk about cons) and I like checking out lolita threads even though I come here for cosplay.

Saying "I don't like seeing X threads" is just an infantile excuse. I presume most of you haven't put any money into 4chan so you don't have any influence except consumption. Since this is a free service, you have to take your own steps to improve your browsing experience.

I participate in cosplay and lolita, and most people I know who browse /cgl/ at least have an interest in both. It would interesting to do a survey and find out how many people are into cosplay, loli or both.

There's a difference between content and discussion boards. The porn boards are content and /cgl/ is discussion.

When a board slows down, people start leaving because there's nothing new there when they check, causing the board to slow down further, leading to an inbred population of exclusionary hardcore posters.

Like it or not, a community needs fresh faces and a moderate turnover, otherwise it just collapses into stupidity and elitism

I would personally love a board for alt fashion (including EGL/EGA/Mori/Gyaru/J-fashion/K-fashion/Vintage) but I agree that it would be extremely slow.

To be honest, I think /fa/ would suffice as a place for all of this. The biggest problem is of course, that /fa/ has built this extremely toxic culture as a board, and don't welcome threads on these topics.

My idea is to change the demographic of /fa/ so that these threads ARE accepted. At the moment, /fa/ is populated almost soley by males only interested in 'monochrome, prep, or grungey styles', as the previous anon stated. If we change the demographic of the board, the culture will change, and that means those of us on /cgl/ interested in these topics need to start posting and contributing regularly to threads like these on /fa/.

I would say start off small - no EGL because that does belong on /cgl/ at the moment, but general J-fashion threads, heck even discussion of high end designers/celebrity fashions/latest runway trends would be a welcome change on that board.

There will be a lot of shitposting at the beginning, and a lot of comments along the lines of >>/cgl/, but if we have enough people posting and contributing to these threads, they should become more accepted. I can't see them being outright banned or deleted because they ARE related to the board.

In other words: /cgl/ takeover of /fa/. Anyone interested?

I'd be happy just to have a regular women's fashion board that would accept some alt fashions and talk about seasonal trends in fashion (and maybe even makeup). I can imagine threads about formal wear, vintage and retro, nice ballgowns and gloves, stuff like that. Basically, an /fa/ that isn't /fa/. That's all I want.
