idk about the wigs, but only the third costume has any decent reviews whatsoever (the other two have none or only a few). imo the yellow is off slightly on all of them, but I'd definitely choose the pale yellow over the nasty darker yellow

Proxy? Is Ruten banned in your country?
I'm assuming you mean a free online VPN. You shouldn't enter any purchasing info (credit cards, debit cards, Paypal) into a proxy though.
If you're just looking to search for things online, go to HideMyAss (it's UK based) and use that.
If you're looking for a safe VPN to actually enter personal information into and won't get tracked by your ISP (or the FBI haha jk...), then I'd recommend buying Hotspot Shield... It's what I use, mostly to get over censorship and be able to purchase things on websites that aren't available in my country.

I've never personally bought from them and I don''t think I will because Taobao is MUCH MUCH cheaper...

A lot of Japanese SS for Mbok and Y!JP Auctions allows stuff to be purchased from other websites, so I'd assume Taobao SS would. I've used Taobaoring to buy stuff from China's Amazon for me. What is the conversion rate?

The one thing that I'm hating about almost all Taobao sohpping services are the conversion rates. I look something up on Google and it's $100. Then I check out with a SS and it's $110 because SS's higher the conversion rate and it upsets me.

So I opened it up and pulled out a colourful bath towel. Bewildered, I said, "That is not what I ordered." He nodded gravely. I put it down and then started taking out more items and they were all bath towels of various sizes and colours. "That is definitely not what I ordered," I said, and he just shook his head.

Didn't get a response in the last thread so... Guys, I really need some help from someone with decent taobao-fu.

I'm being a little picky here but I'm after white shoes with three bows on the front. Either with a heart heel like http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.178.zxjB3Z&id=19045961194# (open toe or anything is fine) or with a covered toe like http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.105.urmTBS&id=10467735667 (any sort of heel is then fine).
As long as there's three bows in front and either a heart heel or a rounded toe they're perfect.

However, the seller of the heart heel ones isn't responding, so I thought I might as well ask if anyone can help me find any that aren't supposedly branded (the heart heels say it's only a reservation price, but don't give a full price and won't respond to emails). I'd tried using all the variations of heart heel suggested in the last two threads like 镂空心形 , 心形物 高跟鞋 and 心形底高跟鞋 but I don't know a term for three bows.
I know there were some suede heels with three bows that everyone was buying, but they only came in beige or something.

Okay something just occured to me and i'd like a little clarity

I ordered a costume using TaoBao Focus (because debit) and it cost around 37 bucks, and that was all fine and dandy.

Now, when the order arrived, it wanted me to pay another 33.58, which I paid without questioning.

Only now, a day after I paid that much, do I realize, "What the fuck? That's almost the price of the damn costume itself! I need to check this out..."

So I go back to view my order and apparently international shipping was 197.5 RMB... wait what??

Is this normal? I chose EMS when they asked what kind of shipping I wanted... did I do something wrong? Was it a thing on the shopping service's end or the seller's?

Sorry, i'm new to this as you can probably tell.

You mean like unnatural colored wigs?
Every one you'll find WON'T look natural because those wigs are costume wigs and usually shiny/soft. I can't seem to find a shop that has both what I'm looking for and that I've also heard anything about and thus trust and since I'm looking for something that's "unnatural", it can thus look a lot worse as a wig so I'd really like to hear from someone hear that has maybe bought from it before.

I have this wig. It's not exactly natural, but it is blended, which helps. The real 'this is a wig' tip-off is the scalp area. You can immediately tell it's a wig a) because of the color and b) because there is no visible 'scalp'; there's no part and that just makes it look extra fake. I tried the coloring in roots method, but again, without any visible scalp, it's just super wiggy.

Wearing a hat does help, because of the blended strand colors. There's mixtures of blue and a grayish green color that looks like fading blue dye over blonde hair.

And I put baby and matte powder in it. It didn't have any shininess to it initially, but in the sunlight it's plastic and fake looking, even with powder in it. Can't really avoid that ever with synthetic wigs.

I know this shop sells some wigs with a visible scalp, and even one in particular I was considering has dark 'roots' as well.

So you want like... Pink, purple, blue - those kinds of colors? By roots showing, do you mean like a scalp part? I've bought around 50 wigs (I've done a lot of group orders for people) from Taobao and not a single one lived up to quality...

Duller colors/not shiny as fuck usually happen in human hair blended wigs, but you probably won't find one on Taobao... I mean they usually run $60+. I have several blend wigs and there's no shine as well as a scalp parting. Cheap wigs don't have a "realistic" scalp parting - they usually only have a bunch of hair starting at the middle of the top of the head. The first way to spot a fake wig is no hairline. The second is if there's no bangs, think lace front wigs.

For the ombre wigs, you'd have better luck looking at those fade wigs. I've never seen a human hair blended wig with a fade, only highlights. What you could do is buy a dark brown wig and then sew on long wefts to make the bottom lighter brown.

The issue with those lolita blended wigs is that they always LOOK like wigs. You can just tell with the plasticity of the fibers... I have a few 100% human hair wigs and the texture is a lot rougher, same with blended wigs. The synthetic wigs off of Taobao are extremely soft and heat just fries them instantly. They also shed easily and you can pull out hairs like pieces of elastic thread.

>>7205443
It's not. Their extensions are definitely not human hair 100%. I've bought two pairs of extensions and was very disappointed because it's literally the same shit you can get on Taobao/China in general. It's not real, I know what real feels like in detachable hair form...

>>7205840
Yup exactly. It doesn't look that way. Their wigs look very bright/shiny and fake in person. It's only good for cosplay or any type of costume, it's not actually to be worn for daily hair.

>"kills" hair
>my sides
Guurrrl your hair is dead cells pushed out from your scalp, it's been dead weeks before you ever saw it. Yes bleach is damaging to hair, but it doesn't fry it unless you're completely fucking retarded with it. Certain hair types are also more resilient to extreme bleaching, like I'm Asian and I've bleached my hair 5 times or so with vol 30-40 developer and it's fine. I deep condition every two weeks and I have naturally thick resilient hair.

Also maybe first anon wants less shiny and thicker wigs? Fantasy Sheep's fibers aren't shiny, and are very thick, but don't go for anything past shoulder length because they tangle like fuck when too long. Phoenixiaoio and FML are also very recommended. Also look for mixed fiber ones which will look more natural, and ones with a fake scalp.

>> No.7205864

>>7205851
You CAN put baby powder in wigs like you would with real hair. I'm Asian and have extremely fine, thin hair that gets super greasy each day. Having black hair and putting baby powder (or various dry shampoos, I've tried a lot of different brands) really dulls hair color. For instance, my hair ends up looking like a faded black, like someone who died their hair and the color's coming out.

For wigs, you can use talcum powder. I don't recommend it for synthetic wigs, and for higher quality human hair wigs or blended wigs, you wouldn't need it. From my experience with synthetic wigs, talcum powder fades the color extremely... I used it on some cheap Lemail split lolita wigs, and the shiny as fuck pastel pinks and lavenders turned into the ugliest fucking colors ever. Yes, it wasn't that shiny anymore, but the wig was so rough and the fibers were so stringy that it pretty much ruined them. You can use fabric softener, but it alone doesn't do much without matte powder. The powder just dries out the hair (and with curls/waves, it makes them unbelievable frizzy).

Keep in mind that synthetic wigs are usually soft (except for those cheap wigs you can get in stores around Halloween), and powder will change that. My blended and 100% human hair wigs aren't soft, but that's because their fibers are made to withstand high settings of heat... They don't burn or become fried like if you were to do so with synthetic wigs...

I can't shampoo less because it gets greasy each day. My hair produces too much sebum, it's in my genetics. If I go a day without washing I'll look like a bum. It's okay though, I like to be clean. It just upsets me all my black friends can go over a week without washing their hair because they don't produce any grease. Makes me jealous, but I know their hair is way harder to manage so I suppose I'm supposed to be happy. I really just hate how flat my hair is, which is why I prefer wearing wigs. I've never seen straight hair with volume actually.

>> No.7205894

>>7205883
Shampooing less is generally what helps. Your scalp freaks out when you shampoo every day because you are removing oils each time, and it just makes up for what's lost and goes nuts. That's why people who shampoo a lot end up with greasy hair. The solution is to knock it off.

Every other day at the most, or only when your scalp is actually dirty. It takes time for it to stop being greasy though.

>> No.7205906

>>7205894
>When your scalp is actually dirty
Doesn't matter if it's actually dirty as long as it looks filthy, you should wash it.

Dif anon but I've seen dermatologists and my daily sebum overload has nothing to do with my shampooing routine. My family is all like this too. It's in our genetics. Funny because my skin is extremely dry and it often looks like loads of dandruff in my hair, but it's just flakes from my face. I know I'm gross.

Yeah, its supposed to make it dirtier(oilier) for a few weeks, maybe more, depending on you. Normal shampoo strips the shit out of your natural oils so its always producing more, so you keep washing it with normal shampoo, it strips and gets oily, and you wash it again, and its a never-ending cycle. When you switch to one that doesn't strip it, it still continues lubricating itself, just out of habit. So you get extremely oily hair. But that should stop after you've done it for a while, its just the transition period.

I've been here most of the time keeping up with these threads, believe it or not. I haven't posted because I only briefly visit these threads. I currently have something on the way to me, but it was an order I made during the late summer as my last end-of-the-year order which was prepared several several months ago. Taobaoring screwed up some things and kept me waiting for no reason, but trying to not impulse buy, I just waited for them to clear everything up with certain sellers before having them ship out.

Not adding things to my cart and making several orders while waiting for other stuff has been hard. I'm still trying to get over my shopping addiction and I'm really happy about the results, because I've been very patient and I haven't bought any clothes I thought I NEEDED. I wasn't even upset after they were sold out! I've even been going out more (well to lolita meets and that's it...), but still, it's much better than being cooped up in my room all day, everyday in front of my computer. I've been spending less and less time on taobao each week... I almost never go on it now. ALMOST never... I feel like my life is really improving. I remember having hundreds (maybe a thousand) bookmarks of just Taobao items as well as 50+ Notepad documents with links, and now I've emptied out most of those links. I originally went through them all, but it was too tempting, so I decided to just delete everything. Best decision ever.

I saw my name pop up twice since I've last been on and it makes me happy for all of the anons on here who remembered me lol.

Until we meet again.

Pruany's really starting to piss me off. I sent a $20 payment to add something else to my order and basically the site "ate" my money since it wasn't showing up in my account. I asked them twice in a span of four days what to do and who to talk to and no one answered. So I opened a claim with Paypal and got my money back in not even five minutes along with a message from them saying, "Friend, we have customer service for dealing with this problem. This isn't even the first problem I've had with them. The first time I used them I asked them to cut off all the tags on the clothing since I ordered a lot of Liz Lisa replicas. I even sent them a picture of what tags to remove and the said "Ok" but lo and behold when my package arrived ALL the tags were still on. Luckily nothing got seized.

The second time was with a package that's on it's way now. I wanted and Amavel replica blouse and it was sold out in the color I wanted so I gave them a link to another blouse and they didn't try buying it until the next day. When they were going to buy it THAT one was sold out as well. Long story short, it was for days of musical chairs with the same two links until I just told them to forget it.

Then I had to literally hassle them to purchase the items I wanted for the 11.11 sales. I placed the sale on the 9th and they didn't buy until like 11PM on the 11th. Thank god all the shit I wanted was still in stock.

And now this problem is the most recent one. This is the last I use them, honestly. Cheap prices don't make up for shitty service.

There's no wiring inside so it's easily bendable, and the folds lead a crease in the PU similar to those Loris lolita bags. It's cheap, so you can go for it if you want. Also be careful of their zippers. They are very cheap and easily break off.

Dif anon, it's now been almost 15 days and my EMS package has not updated. I think most of the stuff in my order has been confiscated or pissed on. Getting REALLY upset... I can't believe I paid so much for fucking EMS and even SAL is quicker than this! This is bullshit!

Dif anon but most likely. All of these items are distributed to many different deals. When I was in China, I saw so many i-sos bags all over street vendors for as low as 10 yuan.

Uh, what? I have one of their bags and love it.
It's smaller than I anticipated, but I also was an idiot and didn't look at measurements.
It's incredibly well made, and I get compliments on it pretty often.
If people are interested, I can write up a little review tomorrow.

so many thank anon. A 5' 10" friend of mine wants me to help her shop on taobao and she is all about thigh highs and really wanted some of those fleece lined leggings. This store will be great for her.

Can I bother you for any more shops you buy from with stuff that fits you? She likes generic asian fashion as well as gal stuff.

So apparently the thing I bought from eBay a few days ago is being shipped EMS. The tracking updated today to "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment"
Meanwhile, my Taobao order tracking still doesn't even register. I wonder what's going on.

I know this isn't exactly the right place, but this thread is where I usually hang out and I'm sure anons here will know. I was thinking about ordering a few food items from jlist as stocking stuffers for my boyfriend, but reviews on them are very mixed. Is it worth it? It's mostly those DIY candy kits that I'm after, he's always wanted to try them. Is there a better place that I could get those? Obviously ordering food off of taobao would not be the best choice, even if you could get the stuff across the border.

>> No.7210312

>>7210303
It doesn't matter if the food is coming from Taobao or Chinese eBay sellers (same thing, really). I've bought tons of DIY candy kits around Christmas from Chinese sellers. They take about a month to arrive if you find someone with "Delivery: greater than 8 days" or whatever. It's all safe. Candy doesn't rot since it's all sugar and it getting stale after a month? Yeah, no. I don't think candy expires. You're safe. Only thing you may not enjoy is a difference in taste, but that applies to any culture.

I love this stuff.

The culture idea of it is so fascinating, I went to a Baby Shoop shop once and the girls were so cute. I'm not sure how easy it'll be to wear bgal as a westerner whilst still looking jfahion-y, though.

Hey anon, I remember you. You're looking for a long down coat that'll fit a petti, right?

Such a thing doesn't exist because down won't insulate if it's not by your body. Down traps your body heat in the stuffing, holding it close to your body. Wool creates a barrier heat doesn't pass through, so it can be away from your body and still keep heat in. If you can't wear wool or the synthetic replacements, you're going to have to settle for a short coat like http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.78.K1RTUn&id=36019024473

So my foot is 25.5cm, for whatever reason I fit into both size 9.5-10 (though I have a pair of 9's) and I'm not sure what size in shoes I should be looking for since the charts on google all say something different

Can someone with equally big feet give me some feedback on your experience?

I'm a men's 6 1/2 (lol I know), but know from wearing friend's shoes that I have a hell of a time fitting into anything smaller than a women's 9. A women's 9 is usually a men's 7, but 7s are usually massive on me (depends on the type of shoe). I order 40s from taobao and they fit me great. However, my roomate is a women's 8.5 and 40s are too tight on her about half the time.

I think the lesson is that shoe sizing is a fickle thing?

However I have a friend who is a women's 11 and she can wear 44s just fine. Since the chinese sizes kind of go by half sizes, I'd knock that down to a 42, then try a size down if you have thin feet (as my slender shota feet are the reason I can't fit into american 7s) or up if you have wide feet. I think my roomate's problem is that she has wider feet than the asian average.

The shop I've been waiting on finally arrived at my SS today and they sent a picture of one of the items saying it was a little different. It is so ridiculously ugly. I expected variants, but geez. Hoping they'll return it as I find it pretty unsalvageable. Share your worst purchases?

Nope, that was me, actually.

Currently I use a normally-shaped down coat that isn't snapped all the way, and though the weight of the bottom half still crushes my skirts pretty badly it's still warmer than smaller jackets, so I don't really believe that... I have a shorter down jacket, and it's not warm enough, so that's why I'm looking for a full length one.

Super soft and cozy. It leans more hot pink than the soft pink they've got there. I'm 5'1" and it goes down to the tops of my knees which I find ridiculous, esp cause I can't reach the pockets. The sleeves barely reach the tops of my hands unless I pull on them constantly. Idk what it is about long sleeved taobao items, I've had trouble getting anything to go beyond my fingers unlike stuff I buy here in the states.

It's rough and not cozy. I dumped it in a wash with a good amount of fabric softener and it didn't do the trick so I haven't even tried it on yet lol.

A couple of threads ago there was a few people wondering about Infanta's new churches roses dress - well I just got mine today and I am definitely happy with it. I think I should have ordered the XXL not the XL just to compensate for my chest though...There's plenty of space on the waist but I need help zipping it over my chest. I'm considering taking it to a local tailor to change the zip just to make sure it doesn't burst on me.
Saying that, it's not 100% perfect - for example I had one loose thread stuck to the print which peeled off a tiny strip of it - but that's not a massive issue and the print is designed in such a way as it doesn't really matter. It also arrived with a tiny stain on the front but I feel like that was probably my SS rather than it being made with a stain on it. I'd be happy to do a more detailed review but I'd say for now I'd give it an 8/10.
