Old thread in autosage.

Help on fitting, sizing, where to shop, etc, and discussion.

Alright ladies, where can I get a decent plus strapless bra that doesn't slide with the weight of boob?

>> No.7411219

I've never worn a strapless bra but I hear good things about Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless.

You might also try on bras in-store and give it the ol' jump test to see if it'll stay in place.

I used to work at Lane Bryant/Cacique, I'm technically too small for their bras but everyone else swears by their multi-way strapless. They're not cheap but they last a long time, and you can get some pretty good deals if you wait for buy-one-get-one sales or coupons.

I love how all these anons just automatically think plus size = 500 pounds. Keep workin' that ignorance, y'all.

Getting back on topic, does anyone have any suggestions for where to find plus size cutsews or just kawaii t-shirts in general? Maybe like a women's size L?

i'm trying to help out my best friend to get into lolita, and she loves it, but she's also a poorfag too.

We have a con coming up next week and i really want her to go, and she already has a skirt, shoes, and tights ready, but it's been really hard to find a blouse that's cheap and fits her bust size.

I don't know if you guys can help me find something for her, i mean it is asking for a lot, a large loli blouse with fast shipping.

but still, does anyone have tips?

Sounds like custom sizing won't work then, due to time constraints. Would you happen to know her measurements?

>> No.7412063

>>7412057
Personally if she's a bit of an odd shape in the bust, try and find some thrifty blouses local. If you get the quality shit for JSKs / SKs / shoes (don't buy OPs) that's what will make an outfit look good, you can setlle on the blouse if it means it will fit right

>> No.7412078

>>7412057
The only places I know of to get blouses fast are through Bodyline or a major brand shop but the latter will be more expensive. If you know what her bust size is (actual measurements, not bra size) we can suggest a blouse. If it doesn't get stuck in customs it should get there in time.

for everyone who assumes we're all morbidly obese scooting about on hoverounds in brand... plus size simply means a bit too big for regular sized brand, which I'd guess to be 95cm bust, 72cm waist, 160cm height.
So even though I'm considered to be a healthy weight for my height, gender and health, I'm still a bit too big for the usual brand size.

oh and i'm not sure if the waist measurement is accurate. I don't think she measured the smallest part. It's mainly the bust that's the big issue.

Or maybe so people who are also plus size can find people like themselves for their inspirations and blogs (and hence use similar styling and fashion techniques that they can't get from a thinner person for obv reasons).

Why does every motivation behind anything always have to be 100% negative if it involves a fat girl? Fucking hell.

>> No.7420795

>>7420787

That's still attention seeking if you want to be found. Just like I tag my shit #classiclolita, #lolita fashion, and scan for the most popular tags to tag myself with. Don't be mad - we're all attention whores here, especially us ones who post to tumblr for the cold pat on the shoulder (i.e. reblogs and likes).

>> No.7420802

>>7420795
>That's still attention seeking if you want to be found.
Alright then, guess you better never post any pictures of yourself on the internet ever again. After all, that would imply you expect someone to find your pictures and therefore give you the attention seeking asspats you so crave.
Don't be ridiculous. "Attention whore" is a jealous construct manipulated by bratty girls who can't stand seeing someone else being given the attention they think they deserve-that's NOT what an attention whore is.
It's like how people misuse the term "ita" now--anything they don't like is "ita" even though that definition has rules too.

>Alright then, guess you better never post any pictures of yourself on the internet ever again. After all, that would imply you expect someone to find your pictures and therefore give you the attention seeking asspats you so crave.

I never said that was bad? I'm just saying that it's good to recognise that we seek validation for the work we put into things, and not necessarily in depth concrit. That's why people post, especially on Tumblr where the communication system has been reduced to a statistics contest. If I wanted true feedback, I'd post either here on perhaps egl in its former days.

I repeat: This does NOT make someone an attention whore.
An attention whore is an obnoxious, self-centered twit that will do and say anything for attention good or bad. So unless you're exaggerating for effect, 'attention whore' is not an appropriate term to use for what you're describing as a very natural human need. So who cares?

I use my tumblr as an archive, if I find a nice coord of a certain dress, I'll tag the name so "See it Worn" thread can have my contributions. Plus Size coording ideas thread? I'll go grab some from my blog's tag and some off the the PS entire tag. I'm glad they're tagging. Because even if I'm not plus size I can still use their tag for inspiring my plus size friends, and theyre probably using it too until they reach their weight goals.

I'm particularly fond of cardigans and belts. I've been making some simple belts lately with a bow and a large button snap to wear with different things (helping to tie colors in). With cardigans, they can be really tricky. I find cropped cardigans work best. I also own one that flares out over my dresses and pettis really well and ties in the front. Plain cardgians and up looking boxy and boring. So I like them to have some detailing like a peter pan collar or something similar. I usually end up modifying most of my cardis to be a bit shorter.

I'm not sure of your measurements, but Lolibrary is your friend. Find a piece you like, check Lolibrary to see the measurements and see if it'll fit yours.

I'm at that size where I'm mere centimeters too large for a lot of brand, so I check Lolibrary before most garment purchases.

>> No.7420856

I don't see the problem with tagging coords as #plus size lolita if they are such, especially if you're a new Lolita looking to get exposure for your blog. New Lolita blogs especially need as much exposure as they can get, so adding a decent number tags (within reason) is never really a bad idea, plus size or not.

"Attention whore" tags, to me, are tags like #Lolita #fashion #Lolita fashion #plus size #fashion #fatshion #plus size Lolita #cute #pretty #kawaii #followformore #ifollowback

I fucking hate those.

Hi all. I was wondering if you could suggest some other bodyline pieces to fit me. I have pic related, these are the measurements listed and it fits fine with ruffle cotton blouse under. But bodyline sizes seem so wonky on the site and in reviews that I'm not sure which other items might have a comparable fit. Prefer JSK or skirts instead of OP.

4L
Back center of length 96cm
Bust 96-106cm
Waist 86-96cm

Also, is there a database or list anywhere of plus-friendly brand items?
Thank you to anyone who suggests.

I have the JSK in black. I really like it, it is nice thick slightly stretchy woven cotton, a bit longer than some AP dresses and able to take much pouf. I'd say the fabric and sewing detail quality is better than their carousel skirt and more like some of the cotton things from FanplusFriend. It is of course, unlined with serged seams like other bodyline pieces. I like the heart details.
It runs snugger than the listed waist max measure, it fits me well at an 88cm waist but I wouldn't want to stretch too it much more. I have a smaller bust so I lace it tighter there.

Only tangentially related, but do people not realize yet that only the first five tags of a new post show up in tumblr's "official" tags? Past five tags, there is literally zero point in continuing to tag for exposure, especially if all the other posts on your blog use the same tags.
