Super Sailor Moon from Katsucon! She's my favorite character ever and I had such a blast cosplaying her. Definitely would like to fix some of my accessories - mainly the tiara and my brooches, which were way too heavy. I think I want to start from scratch and maybe try casting some resin hearts, not sure how the gold additives would look with that, though.

I think your odongo tails need to be fixed up a bit, the wig is poofing out kind of odd in the photo and I'd wear some blush and a little contouring next time. The jewel things look lovely. First cosplay that I actually made things for. Did a crappy bleach one that was mostly just a kendo uniform as my actual first cosplay. Gona work on a Cygnar stormblade for next year, was gona re-make this one, but I dont want to spend all that time just for a better version of the same costume.

ah yeah, this was a sacrifice I made -- I didn't feel confident making the sword from scratch, so I bought the longest toy katana I could find and modified it. in order for the top piece to be canon-accurate, I had to add some paperclay to make the top part, which lengthened the hilt even more. and on an unrelated note, the evoker turned out GREAT.

If someone is shooting from that low, make sure to tilt your chin down slightly so that your jaw/face isn't put at an unflattering angle. I know there'd be a lot of temptation with Satsuki to look upwards but you can still keep the same feeling of authority in your posture by looking slightly above the camera while angling your chin down. Good job on the costume, I really like how the armband and gold details look.

I'm actually hoping to hear some ways I can improve this. Bubblehead Nurse, I know it can be a lot better, not sure where to start.

I need to find a way to make my skin look all ashen, translucent paint of some kind would be ideal, but I can't seem to figure it out. I like the color I got with the tights for my legs, but I can't figure out how to do that on my arms. I tried using tights and cutting them into gloves, but my arms are fuckin' tiny.

Tights and shoes were both REALLY last minute, because the pairs I had before ended up being ripped and too small respectively.

I think you look good; you're already better than most I have seen. you have the perfect figure for one of these so that's good too.
As for improvement, I really think you should sew a game accurate dress, that is the detail fanboy in me I suppose. It's pretty easy, you could even use the one you have as a rough pattern! It really makes it stand out in a sea of nurses who aren't following any particular pattern as inspiration. Most look like an amalgamation of several nurses in one.
Basically pay attention to the collar/waist/sleeve style, those are the defining parts of the costume. Make a fake name badge (they have ones without lettering). Put a faint blue line on the hat if I recall correctly, I think it is just one on there. I am kind of useless as to how the mask could be improved, that isn't my forte. If it were me I'd body paint the legs/arms but I know that's hard. The shoes are good, can't tell you how happy it makes me to see they're not heels. If they're low wedges that's even better. But like I said I think you look good even as it is. I like the lack of bright blood as well. If you do make the dress eventually I would stick in the brown color family and avoid red all together except for the mouth if you do the darker variant, but that's just me.

Probably not the best picture, but I recently did Lady Subaru from .Hack//SIGN. My sewing skills aren't superb and I've been having a lot of friends and my mother give me pointers and help me with pieces.
I'm disappointed in the wrinkling on the tabard-Was trying to use heat and bond to make that issue not happen and then sew the bias tape around the corners, but my iron doesn't seem to get hot enough to apply the heat and bond-Guess it's time to buy a new one.
I learned a lot from it, though. Especially grateful to everyone who's helped me make my cosplays.

Hey anon! Fellow nurse here and boy, lol. We started out the same way. First off i agree with >>7429369 when talking about the blood being the right shade. You dont want to have blood that looks like you just walked out of the ER. Use alot of blacks and browns, also some green, keep it darker. For the mask, i'm not sure what you're using. Is that gauze? If so use more tea bags and just lay them on top in spots. Also, paint away. You can use a matte spray paint to seal everything if it's just a mold and not the gauze. For the tights i'd recommend throwing some blacks and browns on it as well. I painted mine in my bathtub or brought it outside where i just dirtied it up further. For the skin, you can use regular halloween makeup, the $1 tubes, or if you really wanna blow some time, and maybe a little money, Liquid latex. I feel like it really amps up the gross factor. Pic related is me on halloween last year. If you have any questions feel free to let me know! hope this was helpful!

Yeah, this costume was pretty quickly thrown together.

I use actual gauze, because I have glasses that I can't see without, and when I tried to make a mask, it looked really off because I had to leave space for them. I dyed the gauze with the decaf coffee in my hotel room at Katsucon, so that can definitely be fixed.

I also painted the tights at Katsucon, and I actually used makeup rather than... paint.

I was sort of a hot mess that weekend!

I'm looking at some actual vintage nurse uniforms for a new dress, something like pic related, and then I can remove a button or two, and re-press the lapels to be properly... sexy, and shorten it a bit, and add in a belt thing for the waist. The dress I used there was, admittedly, a nurse lingerie dress from ebay.

I'll definitely be more careful with painting the new dress, and I'm trying to figure out a good body paint for this. Still need gloves and a weapon too.

And, you look amazing, anon. I'm incredibly jelly.

i would recommend using early gray tea bags, no flavored, for doing any further darkening of the gauze wrap or using some fabric paints. Water them down quite a bit, let it dry, and layer it up. It'll add something to it. I threw my dress and tights into a large bucket i got from petco. Boiled hot water, put in tea bags, steeped em etc. put the cover on and left it for about 20 min. For doing any painting i recommending watering the paint down. I kept a small container of water near me and would just smear my hands in the paint, dunk my hands in the water, and rub the fabric or even flick at it. I had a pair of gloves myself but i ended up losing them and it was just more of a hassle than it was worth. For a pipe though, you can just use pvc, use a joint or two, sandpaper it, paint away. I've used mine for going on 4 years. No pics on hand at the moment. Will post when im home.

Sorry anon, got home last night and just went to bed lol. Pic related is the pipe i made. Pvc, sanded down, painted and then just used a matte spray paint to seal. I only have very mild chipping in spots. You can hardly see it at all. It's been used quite a bit though, other than cons i've used it for halloween or on events like zombie walks. I added my email here so if you'd like to shoot me some more questions feel free. Also, dont mind this pic too much on lack of makeup/coloring. Its quite possibly the oldest pic i have of it. I was a bit of an art nerd in HS so I'm pretty good with painting, that should be no problem.

For more splattery looking blood, I actually put some paints in a pray bottle with a fuckload of water and a little fabric softener, it works really well. That pipe looks great, too.

I just recently finished up making her outfit from that episode. Do yourself a favor and get a ruffle foot for your machine, I hand made the ruffles and although it looked nice, it was a nightmare to sew all together

I see a lot of really well made costumes, but a lot of you forget that your body is part of the costume too.
Shame to see a lot of really well made costumes go under appreciated because your body is the complete opposite of what it's supposed to be.
Get in shape, you'll be surprised how big of a difference it makes. I'm sure a lot of you would be getting swarms of people commenting on your amazing costume if you weren't fat.

I wanted to do a mix of the detailing from the Chinese splash art but the color of the American splash art. It sucks because her official art versions to in game all look so vastly different, so I'm just winging it.
