Yugioh seems to have taken to something of a shining towards Lolita-esque designs for a couple of years now. Just search Madolche and Ghostrick.

I think there was an episode in one of the shows where a Gothic Lolita duels with a deck of doll monsters, but it was one of those cases where they make cool monsters for the show but never for the game.

The fucking sad part is if you look in the Art book for Madness Returns, they had a lot of great ideas that looked like they were getting back to the original vibe of the first game. But they wasted way too much time on trying to design Alice all over again, so they scrapped a load of really cool ideas.
American McGee's pretentious as fuck. He only wanted one Boss battle because that way his game could be unique. The only boss in the game is actually a cool idea, but his only motivation not to put bosses in is just juvenile.
