The only cesspool you don't really see discussed around here is reddit because the cgl-related discussions that happen there are pretty much exactly like the cgl-related discussions on gaia and most of us are bored by entry-level newfaggotry.
Social media has become a big part of cgl culture whether you like it or not; the fact that those sites aren't entirely dedicated to cosplay or lolita means literally nothing if you take 0.02 seconds to consider just how large FB, Tumblr, DeviantART, and Twitter actually are. Peaceful protesting sure is a nice concept but when it's clear that no one will listen and that a part of the population will be eternally mistreated and used as a scapegoat for everything that's wrong in a city/country/whatever, then telling them to be peaceful basically amounts to "Yeah just keep talking and don't do anything so we can keep ignoring you". It's like saying people shouldn't hurt others in self-defense because it makes them as bad as their aggressor.

When you live a comfortable life it's easy to say that they should just stay calm and go on with their life like nothing has happened. Morevoer, those who do think the concept of police is a good thing should at least understand how it's supposed to work. They're not vigilantes. Even if faced with a thief they have no reason and no right to do what Wilson did, unless said thief is armed and actively threatening them or other people. If someone is a known racist they should not be allowed to join the police. Racism is not an opinion or a belief.

It's not a matter of white guilt or being black or American. It's a situation that constantly repeats itself even beyond this particular instance, even in other continents, even when the reasons for discrimination are different. Things are objectively fucked up and that needs to be acknowledged. When you Murricans want to know why people outside of your country hate you that much just reread the shit some of you wrote here.

A lot of them just want to show the related part of their blog to attract more followers and then they'll continue posting sjw related shit thinking that maybe they'll get excused for doing it or they'll get filtered.

I am mutuals with one blog in particular that I found on a past thread and that I can't unfollow because it feels wrong for some reason. They just post sjw stuff most of the time and it's incredibly frustrating sometimes because while they reblog my shit, I can't reblog theirs.

I was also mutuals with someone commenting on every single post with "that's ableist/homophobic/transphobic/conflicting in any way", and he would often tag blogs he didn't like and try to send his personal army to block them. He ended up unfollowing me which I found so relieving.

I don't go on tumblr to make sure I am not hurting anyone's feefees, and if people want shit tagged well shit sorry but I don't do it because I'm not there to think about other people but to relax.

People who become Tumblr famous and then proceed to answer all of their asks (publicly), putting their actual content as a second priority, is really frustrating to me.
A lot of people use tags for such things, but many people use the same basic tags, and I don't want to filter *everyone*.

People who add dumb comments to reblogs are annoying.

I like mostly picture content, with gifs kept on the minimum because I personally find them overwhelming at times. Text posts in excess kind of turn me away when I'm initially looking at someone's archive, deciding to follow or not. They can be funny on your dashboard, but seeing it stacked in an archive looks bland.
Tagging makes me extremely happy--mostly because it helps my blacklist. Specifically, people who tag in a very basic manner. "food" as opposed to "tw: food, warning: food, trigger: food" etc.
