So what's the deal with Lost Candy, are they generally a shit company? Because I kind of like this dress.

>> No.7939039

Does anyone have recommendations of indie brand or makers who are good for commissions of accessories? Headwear and things like jabots, collars etc. I know of some good handmakers but not who takes or is actually open for commissions nor many reviews for them.

Stay away from Lost Candy. I ordered a Cat Tarot custom skirt with the same pattern from the JSK, was promised 3 days after payment I'd have pictures of the skirt to confirm if it was what I wanted before shipping. Pics never arrived and I had to frequently ask what was happening. Lost Candy fobbed me off with excuses of being busy and that there were holidays in Korea so they couldn't work on the skirt. I tried contacting them through the FB page and emails that were seen but not answered. They have since deleted my FB comments asking for an update and I notice they have also deleted another girl's posts asking the same thing.

I opened a Paypal dispute after waiting 43 days for them to get their act together. They never replied to the Paypal dispute and some other random person emailed me asking for my shipping address. I got my tracking number and when the tracking didn't update and my 20 Paypal days were about to run out I escalated it to a claim.

The stupid skirt arrived and it looked like shit. The fabric is damaged where it is sewn (looks like a blunt/bad sewing needle used in the machine) and there is visible tread at the waistband where they have gathered it . Paypal found in my favour and returned my money and not once did Lost Candy reply to any messages left with Paypal or on their FB page, just occasionally telling me to 'Be Patient because of Korean Holiday'. The skirt was shipped from China, so draw what conclusions you will.

Pic related is the waistband of the skirt.

>>7939717
Basically she got posted to lorp, everyone agreed that she's making a fool out of herself and giving the Chinese lolitas a bad reputation. Laughed at her shitty English, spammer behavior, and general shamelessness and greed.
The owner did a half assed apology addressing nothing, making excuses as to why (>>7939670) is so expensive. People started calling her greedy, and that her designs are ugly as sin, quality is shit etc etc.
Owner started a thread asking someone to dox the OP of the other thread, calling her all sorts of names, basically throwing a hissy fit. Drama and laughs ensued.

Skirt Anon here, I don't know why Korean Holidays had so much to do with it either. The Lost Candy account claimed there was a week long public holiday in Korea in September (which I think is correct as Haenuli said they would be down for the same time) then said that there was another week long public holiday in October - which I called bullshit on because the girl who claims to be the Lost Candy 'spokesperson' posted on her FB that she was on vacation.

Her FB name is Hui Huang; she is listed as living in China and her FB is /huang.sophie.37
She randomly friended me and is probably friending other lolitas for maximum spammage of Lost Candy.

Her weibo is sophiecandy as well, for reference. I don't know why she claims to be Korean when she lives in WuHan, China. Maybe to make her company seem more legitimate? All in all it's really shady, I don't understand why they haven't been banned from the sales groups yet.

Down in my boyfriend's basement, so I'm a little cramped, but I'll do my best!

I got it custom sized, because the S was a little big in the waist and a little too short. I gave my body measurements as 77cm waist, and it fits perfectly - if I were to order again I'd probably add on an extra CM or two to leave room for a thicker blouse, since this skirt has corsetting in the back.

The top part is actually boned, as well. It
s plastic, from the feeling, but it's still a nice surprise. The lining material feels thick enough to be a skirt on its own, which is also really nice. I found one hanging thread along the bottom, and there were some thread scraps stuck to it, but it's wool so I would expect little bits to stick. The straps are completely removable, but they're also pretty long. I thought my torso was on the longer side, but if I want to use the straps at all I'm going to have to move one of the buttons down. The strap has a single button hole on the front and two on the back. This also makes the straps adjustable, so they can cross in the back or not, whatever your preference would be. The buttons on the front are a little too far inward, though, the straps sit on in between my boobs rather than going over the center or outer part of them. Not a big issue for my flat chest, but it'd be hella awkward for a bustier girl.

The lighting is making the lace look a lot shinier than it actually is - it's nice looking, it just feels kind of plasticky.

It's a very heavy material, so I definitely would NOT recommend this particular skirt for anyone living in a warmer area, you'll suffocate.

I'll also note that I'm impressed with the ribbon quality - it's kind of shiny, but it doesn't feel flimsy or prone to fraying like Bodyline's or Infanta's ribbons usually do.

Overall : 7-8/10
Deducting a few points for some minor flaws, that loose thread and this little bit of lace that got caught in the seam

I also had a subpar experience with her. I ordered a black version of a headpiece.

She gave me a tracking number, but after a couple weeks I noticed it wasn't updating. I asked her about it, and she said she never made or shipped out my item. So she asks me to wait until X day to get it done and shipped out. I had to wait a few days longer, but whatever.

So the thing arrives at my house and it was not what I asked for. The headpiece was white, not black like I asked. So I had to send it back, wait another couple weeks for her to get materials and to make it.

I eventually got my order but man, what a pain in the ass. The quality is decent though I guess.

>> No.7970440

Some anons were asking about Woody's Lolita on storenvy in previous threads - I can't remember exactly which, but since they seem to sell mostly taobao brands, I assume it was probably an indie thread. Storenvy isn't allowing me to leave them feedback right now, so I thought I'd bring my praises here if any of those curious about the store are still hanging around.

They were SO helpful. I got confused about information on a skirt pre-order and missed out, so I messaged them to see if they could help locate it for me on the secondhand market. It took them less than a month to find it and have it on my doorstep. I'm not sure what they paid for it, but they charged me $30 less than what they listed for the pre-order right away when they could have easily tried to ask for that full initial price. Communication was very fast and friendly with great English.

Woody's pre-order prices, like a lot of storenvy SS fronts, seemed high, which is why I was putting off ordering from them and missed out, but my experience with them has been so positive that I can't do anything but strongly recommend them.

I hope it was okay to post this here, just want to spread the good word and knew some anons were wondering about them specifically.

Has anyone ordered from the Snowfield? I'm starting to worry about getting an item on time.

I ordered a petticoat that was in stock on November 24th, the Monday before Thanksgiving. I didn't get a shipping confirmation all week, but I thought she might be on vacation for the holiday. So this past Monday, December 1st, I sent an email confirming my order and asking if she could ship it this week.

No reply, and there's still no shipping confirmation or package at my door. I sent an email again this morning, but I'm worried I won't have a petticoat by December 11th, when I'll be leaving town for a lolita event that weekend. I shouldn't have waited, but I also picked snowfield because they're close by and I've seen the quality myself at conventions.

I was also told I cannot be immediately refunded, due to the amount of orders that need full refunds. But if I let my paypal claim run it's course I should receive the full amount no matter what. That's really fucking bad for her store though.
