Why can't people just enjoy a show for the sake of the show?

Why do people NEED for there to be a romantic subplot? Does every single story need to have romance in it? Why can't action and adventure be that? JUST ACTION AND ADVENTURE. Can it, just, not keep their attention if there isn't romance? And why do they always become rabid shippers who'll bite your head clean off your shoulders if you don't feel their pairing, even the most ridiculous crack pairings?

Fucking. Legend of Zelda series on Netflix rumors and I'm over here blabbing about "monsters and dungeons and lore oh my" and everyone else is "OMG there better be lesbians or I'm dropping the series forever!"

When people only ever consider cosplaying the main characters of a game and never a common enemy. You know, the enemies you end up seeing and fighting for a majority of the game. Even worse is when people only do the protagonist. Even elite enemies would be preferable.

There's even more variation in mooks too. Nobody judges you as harshly because while a main character has one unique look you have to fit well to do a good cosplay, enemies can be more flexible.

IIRC when things were just starting to become massively popular there was an interview thing going around with the author where the asker said they couldn't tell whether Hange was a man or a woman. The author messed with them by not confirming either (but he was really just playing around which pissed off the fanbase when they found out lol), that made a really large amount of people think Hange was non-binary or whatever.

Then later the official localizer I think said that Hange was canonically gender-neutral or something which made the arguments erupt again. Luckily it's all died down alongside most of its popularity among that crowd.

But really there's a hell of a lot of projecting onto characters on tumblr, like there are SO MANY transwhoever, nbwhoever irls anything not cis unless they're 'transphobic' characters which nets them cishetcharacter urls. Even when it's literally impossible for them to be asexual or trans, they INSIST that they're right and you're trash for not sharing their headcanons.

And we're not even getting into the fictionkin people who believe they ARE the characters which is a whole 'nother bag of crazy...

TLDR: Hange's gender used to a big subject, and tumblr is crazy, absolutely crazy.

I could make them feel like shit too and tell them to limit their pool of cosplays because of their body shape or height since big details like that are so important to them but I'm not like that. There are some black characters I'll cosplay because I actually like them rather than because I can pull them off decently. I actually lean a lot closer to doing masked and fully armored cosplays because I like how enigmatic and spooky the characters are behind them.

And and not to mention the bullying you get for being "paprika-cheese", because every little pimple will shine on your transparent skin like a big warning sign.

But please, tell me all about how it's the end of the bloody world because oh no, I've a spot on my face and dark circles!
So do I dear, so does everyone. It's called being human. Time to grow up now and stop pretending the world's done us a disservice because we grew up with one skin tone over another. Everyone gets bullied for something, I got bullied for my hair colour just as much as that one kid who got bullied for being Canadian, and my mother made just as many offhanded comments about so many things.

For the record, you CAN go to work without makeup. No-one's stopping you. You just refuse to do so because you're afraid of other people's reactions. However, those reactions won't change if you cake on makeup and foundation and manically reapply.

You do realize that LGBT people tend to flock together because they're a minority group with a similar life style? A big thing about US sellers not wanting to ship internationally is that NONE of the security that foreign posts offer is there. There is no tracking for international packages at all, except the GXE service, which starts at about $65 for document envelopes. Got a couple dresses to ship? GXE could run you up to $300 in shipping alone, if the weight is high enough.

You can't get intl. delivery confirmation, restricted amounts of insurance at a high price, and a bunch of other BS. So if you're a US seller and something goes wrong due to the post, you can't prove anything about it and will 100% of the time be fucked left and right out of your money.

If you're male I could see why. Almost all of the Fillipino males I know are complete man children who expect mommy to take care of everything. Somehow the women are the opposite.

Just because you're Asian doesn't mean you could be any less of a weeaboo. "fake" or "wannabe" accusations are a bit much though.

I'm not rich myself which is why I don't make as many cosplays as I'd want to and don't go to conventions that I can't afford etc. so it pisses me off that I have a couple of friends who are poor as fuck yet spend all their money on cosplays, conventions, expensive figures, eating out etc. They could whine about not having enough money for decent food and the next second talk about this super expensive $100 figure they just ~had to have~ or how they spent the last of their money on their next cosplay project. I understand that some people are not happy with how certain things are going within their respective communities but what REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS Is when people think that the community AS A WHOLE has gone down hill when they're forgetting the fact that sooooo many other people make up the cosplay community. There are those who cosplay because it's just fun to pretend being someone else, there are those who love making their costumes by hand, those who love learning and increasing their skill in the cosplay craft, and those who want to be popular, gain fame, or acknowledgement by their looks or skill.

ALL OF THOSE THINGS MAKE UP THIS COMMUNITY! Are there drama people? What community doesn't have them? Are there people who make trouble? What community doesn't have them!! But they are a small fraction of the vastly large global community that is cosplay and to watch people cast aside what brought them here at one point or another is frustrating and saddening to me.

>gets immediately frustrated when male react in any manner that could be even remotely sexual

Like, I get not wanting to be touched and shit, but you open yourself up to that kind of attention, especially from really die-hard fanboys. It's practically wish-fulfillment right there.

Also, I don't much care for heavy people in revealing costumes. My body's far from sculpted, but I choose my costumes accordingly. It's not that hard

>people who buy their cosplays all their time and act like they're the paragon of cosplay

I have several of these in my country and they're this plague that just won't go away. One of them goes so far as to host workshops to cosplay, and it's like 'bitch you literally buy your shit from ebay.'

The special snowflake-(young) anime fans who think they're somehow "weeb anime trash" for doing things any other fan of a series would do, like buying figurines and other merchandise of different series, cosplaying lots of characters from the said series etc. etc. Especially when they latch on something generally unknow, it gets on my nerves with the constant "WAAAAAH WHY DOES NOBODY LOVE THIS SERIES LIKE I DOOOOOO??"-wailing on Facebook. And the worst part is when they get into a more known series later than everyone else but still start to mimic the elitist part of the fandom ("hmmmph people who like this anime but haven't read the manga completely should just kill themselves ^__^").

I hope it's just a phase, especially with teenagers who have lots of older friends from cons. They tend to do this a lot to fit in and sound more mature.

Why are we now busting on "co-ords"? I'm just wondering. I remember not too long ago people were throwing a fit over it being "co-ords" and not "coords"

Really? I've always known it as "coords" and never the other way around. It's short for "coordinate" after all... where does the hyphen come from?

>> No.8144393

>>8144383
I suppose it came from people internally pronouncing "coords" as... well... cords/chords. I personally pronounce it ko-ords, since I can be a bit of a pronunciation stickler.

You don't want to see me go off when people pronounce zoology as "zoo-ology" DO YOU SEE A THIRD FUCKING O, FAGGOT? IT'S "ZO-OLOGY". Oops there I go again.

Haha, I kinda get that, but man the hyphen just looks so... unappealing. I can see people hyphenating it when they're explaining the pronunciation, but when it's always there I can't help but imagine people saying KOOOH-AWRDS in a really exaggerated voice, lol.

To be fair, a lot of people who do this are kids like 13-16 and these are introductory series for them, so they aren't familiar enough with older series so they're just gonna cosplay what they know.
