Cool! I'd love pics. That's good news, I was hoping for something of "real clothes" quality but didn't want to have to pay the price it'd cost from a uniform shop and couldn't find anything locally.

Based on stock pics, it looks like most of the plaid skirts are good quality if you say you have one and it's good, but the solid colored ones look cheap and thin in comparison.

I actually have a solid colored uniform skirt from Bodyline and it's damn good quality. I have pic related in Grey and when it arrived I was surprised by how heavy it was and how thick the material was.

I can't say if the other colored uniform skirts are just as good but here's something that may help. Check the weights on the skirts. Heavier the weight, probably the better the fabric.

Mine, the weight measurements were between 239 grams and 302 grams and the size went up to 4L.

Thanks for chiming in! I actually would like skirt in solid black or navy so I'm interested, ha ha. What's the texture like? It looks like it's satiny from the picture. I prefer something with a little texture to it, otherwise it feels like a costume to me.

>> No.8253777

>>8253770
Definitely not satin. It pretty much feels like an authentic school uniform skirt. It's not smooth fabric, it's got some texture to it, and the stock pictures really don't do it justice.

There's a review someone did of their plaid one but I can't link because 4chan thinks it's spam and I just got warned for it.. Just google "Bodyline review costume skirt" and it should be the 'ourwalrusroom' one.

My feeling is that all the ones aside from the seifuku sets have pockets. I haven't seen any seifuku reviews mention a pocket so I think it's just the traditional school uniform ones that do because the fabric is heavier and can support it.

I've got a red plaid and a pink plaid skirt coming so once they arrive I'll do a review here if you want? I bought pic related during the last sale. All the good pink uniform sets were sold out so I got a super cheap red one and then bought a separate pink skirt and tie to use with the red set's blouse.

>mfw in out of desperation the red is 3L and the pink is 6L
So glad there's an adjustable strap on the skirt. Thankfully the 3L is only big enough to be considered roomy on me but for $7 I ain't complaining.

Hey anon. I've got 5 of these (433 in grey, 577, 547 in navy and grey and another one that doesn't seem to be on the sight anymore).
All of these skirts have pockets and are of good quality. In person they don't look costumey in the slightest. In my experience the solid colour skirts are just as thick as the plaid ones.
Mine are all either L or 2L and fit comfortably, just make sure you get the right size for you!
I have 2 of their Seifuku and in their skirts in comparison to these are so bad (no pockets, crazy short and really thin).
TL;DR I like them so much I bought 5.

Thanks for letting me know! Ha ha I can't pick just one or two that I like best so I hope I don't end up with 5 eventually because I probably don't need that many of them. So torn on colors though.

The sizing does look like they run really small compared to their Lolita skirts, though I'm not surprised because their sizing has always been weird. Do they all come with adjustable waists?

Also, are any of Bodyline's ribbons or ties decent? I'm trying to decide whether I want one or not, so I figure it's better to buy one on the cheap from Bodyline in case I decide I don't like it.

I know this isn't a uniform thread but since were on the topic I just want to say, I love sailor uniforms (probably got that from watching Sailor Moon as a little kid) and I wish I could pull off wearing one casually without feeling like an idiot or looking like a weeb.

>> No.8256526

>>8256283
In my experience all of the skirts have an adjustable waist, though it only adjusts by a couple of centimeters (the sizing is really accurate on the website though).
I have only ever bought tie185 and for the price it's not bad. It's about as shiny as a regular tie and adjusts by quite a lot. For the price I'd say just try it out and if you don't like it it's not a major loss.
I only really wear the sailor tops of mine with no tie and a jumper or cardigan for casualwear. I tend to wear casual sailor cardigans (not bodyline but here's the link: http://www.yesstyle.com/en/fairyland-sailor-collar-cardigan-beige-one-size/info.html/pid.1036988648).). Sorry for being OT again, but is YesStyle a good place to shop for clothes? I've read a lot of mixed reviews about them but I've also seen some pretty cute stuff from them too.

To be actually on topic, one of the shoes I wanted are finally back in stock, but of course the price is also raised by $10. Damn it Yan quit being so bloody unprofessional and seedy. Also, I have little faith that the RHS with the straps across the foot will ever be restocked, I regret not buying some years ago.

I don't remember if I ordered a size up or not, but since I almost always have to with shoes I'm sure I did. Mine fit me perfectly and it was pure shit luck because I have feet that are impossible to find shoes for. Since everyone is talking about the uniforms, I have a question. Do you wear your skirts at your waist, or lower? And how long or short is the skirt on you?

It looks like the uniform skirts are suppose to be worn at the waist, but I want to wear mine just above my hips because when clothing sit on my stomach it's really uncomfortable and it makes me queasy. Is this okay to do or does it have to be worn at the waist? Also, I know this will make the skirt look longer, but do they look cute longer too? I remember reading Japanese girls who have to wear uniforms often would shorten them by wearing them higher with a belt, does that sound like something I could do if I wear the skirt lower but decide I want it to be shorter? I'm not sure if I'd mind the longer look or not. Sorry I'm a noob to school uniforms and kogyaru fashion.

now go to the womens chart
we have uk sizes, us sizes, europe and japenese. bodyline runs by japanese sizes.
so using the chart, were gonna go up to size 6 womens, go down to japanese thats size 22 and a half. thats your size, 22 1/2.
bodyline dosnt use a half symbol, they put whole sizes with a 0 at the end (like size 250, thats a whole size), and half sizes with a 5 at the end. (like size 255, thats a HALF size).
so since youre japenese size is 22 1/2, your bodyline size is 225.
hopefully this helped!

i got this shirt years ago before i actually got into lolita and i'd like to try and see if it's still usable. i wanted to pair it with l145 in sax since i already have the matching bag. initially i wanted to get the skirt in black but they are sold out of the bag in black.

what i want to know is, does light blue pair well with black like this? If not then can i get suggestions on what to pair with it from bodyline? i'm a 2l in bodyline sizes, so there are a lot of jsks that won't fit me.

with some very careful coordination you could possibly make it work - just. However this is if you already have godly skills and even then I don't think it would look very good. I think you should just abandon the idea in all honesty.

The blouse in itself seems decent enough for a basic piece with nice lace etc, I would just remove the god-awful white ribbon laces and all should be good. Just wear it with something else anon.

I don't know if they're too small or just silly in construction, but after a few steps my toes reach the front. When I'm standing still it feels good, though.

So when you order those, I'd recommend to take 1cm more than usual, since I already bought 0,5 more than I'd have needed.

My seifuku order just arrived. I was actually surprised by the quality of what I got for so cheap.

>costume421

I actually bought this because Bodyline was out of white blouses and I figured I could just sell off the tie and skirt.

The blouse is I think typical Bodyline, meaning it's a bit thin (you can probably see my sports bra in the pictures) and it's made of stiff fabric. Considering this is a school blouse and not a lolita blouse, that's pretty okay with me.

The skirt is thin and see through, underneath I'm wearing black shorts. There are no adjustable strap on this, just a clasp, and no hidden pocket. I think this is one of their older styles, hence the not so great fabric choice and lack of extras you get with the new skirts.

Overall, damn good for 799Y considering you pay more than that on Ebay for bedroom-tier school uniforms.

This is the color skirt/tie I wanted in the first place but Bodyline always is sold out of their pink uniforms so I was surprised that I managed to snag this one during the last sale.

The red 3L on me was just big enough to let me slip my thumb into the waistband but the 6L kept slipping down to my hips (pic related is when it was slipping down). Thankfully (and to my surprise) it's one of the newer designs so it has the adjustable waistband and a hidden pocket. The fabric is also heavier than the red one and not see through, from what I could tell.

The pleats are sewn down and I didn't bother to undo them since after I tried it on it went straight into my closet. The bow with outfit has an adjustable elastic band and a snap so you can unfasten it to put on and then refasten it. The fabric for the bow is also sturdy fabric

Overall I'm SUPER pleased with this one. Definitely worth the money and if you're smaller than the measurements by a size or two but desperate for a pink uniform, I'd highly suggest getting it and then adjusting the waistband. It may hang around your hips instead of your waist though. Either way it looks fantastic and is very sturdy.

how much does the waistband adjust on Bodyline's skirts, and do the measurements actually count the adjustable waist? (for example, if the size is 66-70, is that the size range the waistband adjusts to?)

I'm weirdly in between sizes so I'm having trouble figuring out which size I should get. I don't want to go for the smaller one and have it end up being too small, but I also don't want to get the bigger one and find it's huge and I can't adjust it smaller.

Ya, most of their colors are a bit off. But usually its still useable. I own other shoes they have listed as pink so I expected them to be similar. Sorry to ask you another question, but how long are the sleeves? I'm worried about them being too short and doing the digging into my armpit thing. Is all the lace cotton?

It's so hard to tell what something looks like and it's quality on Bodyline's website. I can't afford to spend much on lolita clothes though so I've been trying to collect some of those Bodyline diamonds. I think their older dresses were actually better than some of their newer ones because so many were actually made with cotton lace, I feel like the cotton lace really makes a dress look and feel better.

The lace is beautiful, mine looks like it almost matches that on my Happy Girl mini JSK. It's more of an offwhite/almost cream color though, not white. I would definitely go ahead and buy it if I were you. $20 for such a beautiful dress is an absolute steal. If you can buy some nicer ribbon to replace the corset back, that'd be a good plan too. Bodyline's ribbon is always shiny and shitty.

One mo and I'll take some closeups of the lace and measure the sleeves.

Something that worries me is the collar being so large, and that it's high waisted. I have a small bust but have never worn an empire waist before so I have no idea how it will look and if it will suit me. And huge collars often dwarf me because I have extremely fine hair and don't do the wig thing. If it wasn't for those two things I wouldn't hesitate to get it. The pictures of it look lovely, the lace is perfect and I'm a sucker for tartan. I have Kotoris one so I'll give a quick rundown of what you can't see in the pictures.
If you're worried about flimsy fabric, you shouldn't. The shirt is like a kind of regular shirt fabric, probably some polycotton and the skirt seems to be a polyester twill with bi-stretch polyester as the plain red layer.
My only peeve is the gloves and as you can see in the picture, they're a kind of disgusting metallic latex. Also, the suspenders fall down a load so you'd need safety pins or velcro if dancing.
Basically, it's all pretty good and true to picture. You get your money's worth using the yen trick

I want to get L066, but not for wearing with Lolita. I want it for casual wear, something storybook inspired and outdated looking, maybe slightly on the mori side?

I can't get it in red because my skin looks terrible with red, and pink would be too cute for the look I want, so I'd have to get the blue. I'd remove the awkward ruffles that sit above the strip of lace that runs along the bottom of the dress, and replace the buttons to metal or plain black if the ones it comes with give me problems. I'd probably wear with bloomers for modesty and the little volume they provide, but probably no petticoat, because I don't have a petticoat with casual poof and don't think poof would fit the image I'm trying to go for.

Would this work? Does the color work, will it achieve the look I am trying to go for?

You might want to put together a different collage, or go for a different dress. The one thing in common most of the outfits in your collage have are muted colours, and they are paired with browns and beiges. L066 in all colourways is anything but muted, and I don't think that particular blue goes well with beige (might work with some shades of brown... maybe)

I'm not saying you can't achieve your "storybook style" with this dress, just pointing out that there's this one huge difference between the collage you posted and the dress you picked out.
