Post your measurements, /cgl/. Height, bust, waist, hips, and if you're a dude then height and whatever numbers ya'll dudes use to fit into clothes. Talk about how they affect your relationship with cosplay/lolita. If you're working towards a specific goal, tell us your goal.

5'6", and 34-24/25-35. I'm a lolita and I don't really have any problems fitting into stuff- any excess weight I have is on my hips and thighs which isn't a big deal when measurements are loose down there. I would like to be a bit more fit so my calves and arms aren't as squishy.

Its kept me out of trying most other jfashions (I'm either too big in general, or a bad shape--as much as I love mori, mori doesn't like my body shape) and I've never cosplayed because of it. I've been yo-yoing over the past 8 years between 150lbs and 200lbs but have never managed to get lower...I'd like to get back to 150, I was able to fit into some really cute stuff back then. I have really muscular legs from sports, though, so I wear size 8 pants. I don't cosplay because I feel like my proportions aren't really suited to anyone. I wear lolita because it covers up my thighs. Thankfully, due to my lack of boobs I don't have trouble fitting into most brand.

I really hate how my legs look. I wish I had slim, delicate looking legs, but I have no idea how to make them thinner. Whenever I lose weight, I lose it from my torso first. That being said, I'm trying to lose about 15 pounds. It's a slower process than I'd like.

As someone also with close to an 82cm waist (78cm), I can't imagine skirts look very good on you either, not with that large bust size. I have a 96cm bust, coupled with my larger waist size, even full shirring skirts make me look huge, they draw too much attention to my boobs and I look massive.

Full shirring jsks/ops are also out. Just because you can fit into it, doesn't mean it's flattering, and I've never felt full shirring looks good on large girls, ever.

My case is similar to >>8337107 in that I feel insecure about my thighs and love how lolita covers them up really well. I fit most brand, which is nice, but I hate how skirts always feel like they're digging into my waist. So I'm hoping to get down to 26" or 25" there. Now that it's summer, I have few excuses to cover up my thighs, so I'm trying to cut those down as much as possible. As far as cosplay goes, I usually don't take my body too much into account. I don't cosplay busty characters, and sometimes my thighs and waist make my figure look too girly for crossplay, but as long as the costume itself is really good, I tend not to worry as much about my body.

Diet is a lot more important when trying to lose weight than exercise. What I do is try to drink a ton of water with those cheap water flavoring packs so you feel full all the time and don't want to eat as much. As for staying motivated, it's more a state of mind that you have to work on. Always wanting to be stronger mentally and physically because you owe it to yourself.

It's extremely difficult in lolita (and cosplay, but I have left the cosplay), and it grinds my gears when I get attacked for wearing reps or have to pay extra for tailor. I have been working out since I was 12 I'm 23 now and I haven't dropped a lb since then.

I have a feeling I would be considered a land-whale/ fatty-chan; however I'm not all fat like most under the category, I have muscles and heavy-dense bones by genetics and I eat normal american portions. It's just hormonal issues and genetic mutations.

In most cases, that is going to be too much food, to be honest. Exercise is important, but diet so much more so. Try actually weighing your food and tracking seriously if you haven't already, you might be surprised.

If you really have exhausted all other options and it really is hormonal, then you need to see a healthcare specialist. Why would you want to keep suffering?

I fit all my lolita just fine. Im exclusively brand and as long as I have at least partial shirring in my JSKs and OPs i fit fine with room to move around and breath. Skirts tend to be smaller then jsks even of the same brand with the same amount of shirring. I dont tend to buy skirts because unless they have full shirring they don't fit very well, and even then, they dont look very well on me. My ribs kind of stick out so even with bigger skirts, it looks like my ribs are rolls of fat above where the waist band sits. Id like to loose some weight to hopefully make this weird skirt effect go away a bit, and fit skirts better.
Because of my tits, even when i use to weigh 109, i was never able to wear unshirred dresses, so ive given up any hope of that.
I dont eat anything unhealthy really, im just struggling on meal portions. I always seem to be hungry no matter what and then i feel like a pig when i eat a large salad and im still hungry.

The flat stomach will come from a lack of bloating (cut down on sodium) and being hydrated (homemade tea with splenda really helps.) Try not to eat after 8:00pm too. Some people say carbs play a part, but I have brown rice twice a day and the occasional pastry and my stomach flattened out okay.

This is going to sound weird, but check your posture! My belly pooch that I thought was "the last five pounds" was more caused by my anterior pelvic tilt than excess pudge. If you don't feel a lot of chub over your muscle, but it still sticks out, try correcting your posture!

- low carb & low sodium (to reduce bloat)

I don't have too many problems with wearing lolita at my current size, but I'm forever upset that I won't fit into some of my dream dresses (MM/VM). I mostly wear AP and Baby, though, so it's not that big of a deal. If anything, shirted pieces without corset lacing by AP tend to look/be too big (honey cake and Petit patisserie being two examples).
My shoulders are kind of wide, especially for my size, so some blouses fit me poorly.

Shoulder are always a problem. No brand blouses for me. I have a hard time with no shirring also since my ribs are so big, even if it fits nicely once I try taking a deep breath it feel way too tight.

I was exercising 50 minutes every day for 5-6 times a week, usually 6 In the first few months. Women on diets doing a lot of exercise without being careful about their vitamin intake are more susceptible to injuries. The funny thing is my exercise was primarily on the treadmill and elliptical. They're supposed to be easy and light on the knees and bones for fatty-chans.

In my case it was the shitty nutrition, bad shoes (they were basically minimalist shoes), and too much too soon and you can be out of commission quick. When people tell you to eat your vegetables they're not kidding. Most multivitamins don't make a dent in vitamin deficiencies. It's just easier to suck it up and eat a salad than be on bed rest and not lose weight for a long time.

I wear sports bras for so many of my cosplays because having boobs will often mess up the silhouette. From chest up I look pretty slender (good arm tone and a nice neck/jawline) but I hate my midsection chub and wish I could just transplant it to my butt.
>was hanging out with a female friend in our underwear the other day
>she works across the street from a gym and visits it daily on her lunch breaks
>she has the most perfect butt and she's a white girl

I have thick thighs from cycling everywhere (main form of commute) but I have to be careful about tailoring short cosplay skirts because anything higher than a certain length will leave my legs looking stumpy. I've pretty much accepted my non-Jfash bust/hip proportions but I'm working on midsection cutting and tone.

Bust: 100cm / 39in
Waist: 81cm / 31in
Hips: 96cm / 37

This is the heaviest I have been in my entire life. The weight gain mostly came from overeating because I am a pig with no self control and I'm currently having a sedentary lifestyle.

Just got married and moved to another country where I dont speak the language or have any friends or family. I wont be seeing my friends and family for another year and I'm currently unemployed so I have nothing better to do than baking and cooking. They have seriously become the highlight of my day.

I haven't cosplayed in a while but I have a costume I haven't touched here. The problem is that I have been expanding so fast that it's too snug on me now. My old clothes are also starting to get too small on me and the pants and shorts which used to be big for me can't even fit me anymore.

As for exercise, my knee is busted and I cant even jog or do squats because it cant handle the pressure and weight. I know I am also making excuses while I gobble up that double moist dark chocolate cake with chopped cacao bars and fresh strawberries from Spain but... I dont know anymore. Maybe I am eating my sadness away but I am pretty sure I need an intervention.

I mainly have the same issues most tall people have with waists or busts not sitting properly, or skirts and dresses being too short. I am extremely pear shaped, but with slender arms and leg and a petite upper torso. All my weight goes to my ass and hips and so I can find it difficult to dress myself to show that I have a small waist because my hips can make things flare out in an unfortunate way and disguise it. My hips can also make certain tops ride up to my waist which is irritating. My waist acutely flares out to my hips rather than being a long contour like some people have.

Lolita and otome flatter my figure nicely though.

Measured at the fattest or thinnest so the hip measurement is a lot of thighs.
I've never had issues with the waist on lolita clothing but usually the bust, especially since I have a pretty big rip cage.
Tights will usually stop some cms below the crotch and otks will roll down. My goal is just to get fitter so I can eat more without getting fat. However my arms are already too big for some sleeve openings so that's gonna suck for lolita.

Heck of a time trying to fit into clothes. Current goal is to get to 100lbs.

I end up using children's size 8 (width) and 14 (length) in patterns for some of my cosplay costumes and just draft my own for the rest.
Lolita clothes have been getting bigger in the last 5 years, so most things (JP size M/9) are too big on me. I have to seek out the few size S items for OPs and JSKs.

In normal clothing, I'm usually a size 00P or XXSP, so it's very difficult to find pants that are the right length AND doesn't gap from my waist. Shirts are little more forgiving, but so many are designed for women with bigger busts and wider shoulders, so I can't fill them out and they wind up looking odd despite matching the manufacturer's sizing chart.
I don't want to resort to shopping in the girls' section, even if children's size 14 fits me, because I'm twice the age of those clothing demographics.

The way to fix that is to measure yourself properly (look in the archives), get a well-fitting bra (I've heard good things about Nordstroms) and then "stoop and scoop" where you're basically pushing the tissue back in place. It makes it really hard to track my weight gain or loss through anything other than measuring myself everytime.

I hate my large frame so much. I will never be petite no matter how much I diet or exercise. The lowest adult weight I've ever had was 65kg, and I was actually starving myself and jogging twice daily. Obsessing over achieving the impossible goal of petiteness actually made me fail my degree so its affected my life pretty harshly. Not to mention always being the 'big' girl in school and life in general. How it effects my lolita? I have such low self esteem over my body because I just find it impossible to find myself attractive as a 'big' person (years of bullying and disapproval from the family have contributed to this) so I can't work up the courage to go to meets and make friends. I have no friends.

I also can't buy some of the most gorgeous brand because it just wont fit. Its not like I'm even fat! If I was fat I would just be like "tough titties fatty chan lose the weight or stop complaining". But they will never fit despite anything I do, I can't have things because I'm me. Blouses are also depressing because my shoulders are broad and my back is wide to match my stupid frame.

Sorry for the vent guys. I just find it hard not to compare myself to other people and feel inferior.

I hope I don't have daughters.

I haven't measured in a few weeks and I had a pretty swole weight gain over the winter (15 pounds). I don't overeat, it's physically impossible for me to do that, but I have been drinking an excess of calories because I unhappily kicked my water-only habit. I also stopped working out. It sucks, but now that I'm done with grad school I can focus on doing what's right for my body with less stress-based impulse decisions involved.

Btw I don't have a lot of trouble with lolita. My favorite brands are AP, Haenuli, and Lief and they all have jsks that are more than comfortable for my size. A lot of times it has to do with body composition, metabolic rates, and genetic things that can't be changed. The best you can do is eat a healthy diet, drink a lot of water and work out and keep up on lifestyle changes. The weight will come off. Back when I was really skinny (5'9, 110lb), I just made sure I didn't eat over 1100 calories a day and once a month had a day where I ate everything that I had craved that I wasn't allowed. These days I'm 20lb heavier, have put on a lot more muscle and eat more like a normal person (1800 calories a day) but I'm so much happier and my measurements only went up 2in max.

But i also have a shoulder width of 35 cm and the distance between my armpit and top of shoulder is 14 cm, so anything that doesn't have sleeves just slides of my shoulders unless i shorten the straps with a safety pin, and even then the straps will hang at the very tips of my shoulders because they're so narrow.

Still the same anon.
We have a similar back story. Only mine comes with the added pressure from a mother thats always been stick thin. I took after my father, a barrel chested giant of a scandinavian.
My mother started calling me fat at eight when I started growing boobs, since she didnt have any she figured I was just fat. It took her a year and a friend's advice for her to get me a damn bra. By then trainers were too small and I have some sagging issues... not to mention the body issues from my parents and peers telling me I'm fat over the years. Lately I've decided not to give a fuck. If I'm large it doesnt change who I am, it only changes what people think of me.
Measures:
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 235
Bust: 48"/ 38 F
Waist: 42 (chubs considering bra band is rib cadge made for titans.)
Hips: 52.5" (most of my weight here, spoon shape due to birthing hips but I could stand to lose some of my pooch and ass. Broke my foot and have been healed and working out since march but gained about 25 lbs while losing a pant size. Still no measurement change.))

BMI means fuck all in terms of looking good or being healthy, especially if you don't exercise much. If you don't, a 'healthy' bmi makes you look chubby. If you do, your BMI will be higher anyway (muscles weigh more blabla).
As a lazy bitch I personally find I only look good slightly underweight, seeing as I have no muscle to edge the scales up and any weight is just chub.
Do what you want, BMI isn't a health indicator anymore.

Honest question, do people like you actually realize being that thin is LETHAL? That if you continue along that path you will actually die?
I get some people aren't happy with their bodies, and maybe even being that thin you feel disgusting, but surely when you see that tiny number on the scale you realize: oh fuck. I better eat because I'm at a deadly low weight.
I guess the eating disorder causes you to want to give up your life for being thin? Trying to understand.

well, eating disorders are very complicated. Simultaneously I feel I look absolutely dreadful, yet I am also terrified of gaining weight and still feel drawn to the need to see the numbers go down. There's a lot of reasons as to why I use my ed to cope with things, but I'd rather not go into it. As far as it being deadly, I do recognize that to a certain degree, especially as I've been hospitalized at lower weights before. Yet when I get out I just get trapped in the same anxiety fueled patterns. At this point I'm beginning to find it hard to find real hope for myself. Sorry about the 'oh woe is me' story, I don't mean to come off that way haha

Dead-on average but still kind of tall for lolita - I have a long torso so loads of things end up empire-waisted on me that aren't supposed to.
>84cm bust
>64cm waist
>85cm hips.

I'm actually underweight by several kg right now and I'm trying to gain weight, which makes knowing which size to buy difficult, especially since before I lost weight my tits were a lot bigger but my waist wasn't much bigger, so it makes fitting into stuff even harder. It's a pain in regular fashion too - my chest measurement is technically not that big, but proportionally to my waist I'm an hourglass so stuff that fits my chest was always baggy on my waist and vice versa. With standard Taobao sizing my bust is usually an M but my waist's an S.

I'd say my main problem is short legs with a long torso meaning bodices on dresses are often higher than they should be, and I have to buy trousers in the petite section. Also believe me when I say 28DD or 30D bras are fucking hard to find anywhere. Also got narrow shoulders so sometimes JSK straps fall down.

Your ideal TDEE varies a lot based on height and current weight... I'm 5' 9“ and it takes 1600-1700 kcal/day to maintain 115 lbs. On someone shorter or less active (I do cardio five days a week) it would be less, etc. Us sharing our calorie counts really won't help you as much as one of those calculators will.

I feel you... I've never been able to get below 65. I might be able to go down another cm or two if I did a severe cut down to the muscle, but there's very little fat over the muscle so I'm stuck there. The double-edged sword of having decent abs, I guess...

Not that it's all terrible, since I can fit into most unshirred brand with 65, but it also means I'm forever a box.

I'm so scared to even attempt lolita based on my measurements alone- I'm a weird trapezoid shape and I need to fix that before I even attempt to fit into brand or anything.

This question isn't probably fitting for this board but is there a healthy way I can lose weight long-term that don't include sports and things? I'm already in a year-round sport in school and I'm pretty athletic in the summer.. Would cutting out soda and stuff help? I like my body for the most part but the numbers terrify me.

Cutting out soda is important since that's completely empty calories. Eat lots of protein, whole grains and vegetables. If you eat protein at the beginning of a meal you'll be full sooner, it takes about 20 minutes to digest iirc. Weight loss is all about what you eat.

I have an amazing underskirt that combats the height problem, from F+F actually (I think it's just their chiffon one) I've got long legs and I swear by it... but not every dress looks good with an underskirt.

Bust 34, waist 24 and hips 40, 5'6. I'm planning on losing more weight enough to get rid of all the cellulite I have on my thighs (tfw pear shape) and doing corset training down to about an 18 inch waist and then getting boob implants to about 38 inches. Basically I want to have Betty Brosmer's body. I wonder how lolita will look on me? Probably bad, but maybe if I stick to flattering cuts it won't look so damn weird.
