I do a lot of online shopping, but I'm relatively new to Ali and I like it so far!
The escrow thing is interesting but I wish they accepted Paypal for that extra layer of protection.
My first purchases were on a Vanilla Visa gift card that was burning a hole in my wallet lol, and those turned out just fine.
But with the horror stories with taobao of yoybuy credit card fraud, it's always best to be careful.
Do most people feel comfortable on Ali using their credit card or even their debit cards as long as the seller has plenty of reputable good feedback?
Or are prepaid gift cards the better way to go?

So, I ordered some jewellery back in February and had to open a dispute (I will note, for the first time ever and i've been using Ali for just over a year now). The seller initially was reluctant and then decided to give me my money back, but then asked if I could pay again if it arrived. I ordered like 6 times in total and had to open 2 disputes, because items simply got lost. One seller was really annoying. The other orders (one is still in transit) always took about 2 months. Hi guys, I have a question. Me and my roommate use aliexpress alot and so he and I both used our debit/creditcards. However, when I was on vacation one of the cards got blocked by the bank because they thought it was stolen. I got a new card and threw the old one away. Aliexpress now needs me to send them that card but I don't actually have it anymore. I explained that I got a new one but can give them a different card from the same bank.

Now, they haven't answered me yet but if this doesn't work can I make a new account and use my new card or will it flag the system?

Th shoes look really nice. The dent in the photo actually popped right out afterwards. I should have gone for a US4 but I didn't want to risk them being too small (I'm used to UK and EU shoe sizes). They still fit, I'll just need a heel grip. Not too much of a fan of the buckle part because it's just one of those ones that hook on and I have small ankles so I'll need to get the straps shortened.
They do have a very strong plasticy smell, but that will probably dissipate. They're true to colour. The grips on the sole are reasonable and it arrived relatively quickly

The fabric is heavy and feels solid, and the underskirt is in a silky-ish type of fabric. It arrived a bit wrinkly, but I think it's gonna look super neat once I get around to ironing it. It was very frayed where the underskirt and the overskirt was sown together, but I just cut it the off for now, and I'll see if it starts fraying again. I honestly think it's my favourite. It's really comfy right now, but I think it'll still fit and be comfy even when I'll lose weight (or gain a little bit, for that matter). The fabric's really nice and soft and feels quite expensive, and the lace is also super nice imo (but I don't have a lot of experience with lace). It's quite short though, but still long enough to hit me about 1/3 down my thigh, and I'm 171cm.

The lace is really, really sheer. As in, it feels super light and airy which I think is nice for a mori look, but there's also pic related problem. You can see how see-through it is both with black and white. I realized it might even be a bit more see-through than the pic because I had to use the flash. I haven't tried with nude underwear yet, though, but I imagine that might do fine. The skirt consists of three layers: a layer of tulle on top, then the lace layer, and then a sheer layer of what I think is chiffon? I don't really know much about fabrics... The rubber band at the top tends to twist around a lot (and I haven't even worn it for a day already), so I'm gonna try to find a fix for that. It's still really cute, and I think I'll be using it a lot for this summer.

Cgl, I'm in need of some help.
3 out of the 5 purchases I've ever made on aliexpress gave me problems. The first one I was able to take care of without much problem but I'm currently dealing with the other two and it's leaving me worried.

One of them was a cosplay, the seller gave me a tracking number but it's been over a month and the tracking number says it's invalid. I tried to contact the seller multiple times and no reply was given. I opened a dispute but so far, no answer. I noticed just a while ago that the seller's store is now completely empty, which leads me to believe it's a scammer (they have very good feedback, so I'm very confused). Has this happened to anyone before that could tell me what can I expect? I read I supposedly could escalate my dispute but I have no button available for that.

The second one, it was a couple shirts with printed designs. One of the prints is inverted, so what's written on it just makes no damn sense. I complained to the seller and they had the guts to say "you ordered from china, not japan!", which made me quite angry, since the print was correct on the listing photos. They also had high positive feedback. I opened a dispute, to which the seller "agreed to", so the dispute was closed. Whoever, I checked my back account and no refund was given.

Is there anything I can do? Will I ever get the money back?
I had a couple more things on my basket to buy but now I'm too afraid to lose more money..

How are you losing any money with disputes? If the dispute was accepted you will get your money back within a few days. If the seller hasn't responded to your dispute then when the timer runes out the dispute is won in your favor.

How the hell do people have so much trouble with Aliexpress.

No one's replying because no one really knows where the 'escalate' button is off the top of their head and you're worry-rambling when you can just click around. It's there. It might be because it needs certain days before you can, or maybe it's not even called 'escalate' (I think I recall that it was something like leaving it to the website to make a decision? Again, not sure).

How long was it since the second dispute closed? Keep in mind that some refunds can take days, and then a few more days to process into your bank.

I've had my share of disputes as well (also 3 of 5 orders went missing) and sometimes it takes some time for the money to end up on your bank account. I never needed an escalate button (I didn't know this exists, wasn't this a Paypal-thing?). Apparently if the seller doesn't react to your dispute AE will solve it for you.
