I know the socks aren't working, so any suggestions? I also have those gold Star/moon clips but they're in storage atm--the IW headbow seems sad by itself (if anyone knows anyone who is selling the headpiece from the same series please tell me!!!). I've got a seashell bag in white coming in as well. I was thinking more gold but the gold on the dress is really dull compared to the super shiny stuff that's trending atm.

Reposting since I posted at the end of last thread:

I'm having a REALLY tough time trying to figure out a blouse to go with this, does it need one? The scallop color is removable, as well.

I have it in pink.

I can generally tell right away, but this has me stumped. Was hoping to maybe use it on it's own as a summer dress with some pink/white pearl bracelets, but who knows. Opinions?

If you want to wear it as a sundress, it doesn't need a blouse. In a lolita outfit, I'd wear a high collar blouse or one with a neckline sitting under the collar.

I think the pink is fine with that colourway as long as you balance both colours. If you wanted a lavender blouse, meta has a high collar one with gold trim on it.

>>8397983
It's really hard to tell what the colours are like - but it looks more like beige x grey. Apart from the stock coords, I came up with this because I quite like red with grey, if that's not your thing maybe navy, dark green or purple could substitute for the red. Also, sorry about the non-matching reds - in real life I would try and match the bag to the shoes as both are leather-textured/pleather and the bolero to the fascinator.

>>8400339
I like the items chosen on the right rather than the left, the black tights are kinda boring if you have bows on the top (maybe black bow tights?) and there's no balance for the light-coloured dress at all. Love the beret idea though!

Yes, but only if you have a full bottle around your neck worn as a necklace, and one in your handbag. Also, it really depends on the area and the group you're hanging out with - all my lolita friends are in their mid 20s and would find it funny, but some people get super sensitive and wah muh triggers over that kind of stuff because tumblr taught them so.

I was thinking perhaps a black velvet rectangular headdress, velvet rose combs or a bonnet with velvet flowers and a bolero with lace or chiffon, black tights possibly flocked and I'm a little stuck for shoes. Hey anons, I'm really stumped with what blouse collar style to wear with collared JSKs!

I've had Sweet Cream house for quite some time now and It really has me stumped. I don't feel like I can move on with coordinating other parts of the outfit until I have the blouse sorted, but I just don't know what collar style to choose. The collar on the JSK is detachable, but I really would like to work with it instead of without it, otherwise I would have just bought the high waisted cut. Any input would be great!

I have this issue too. I don't like the look of two collars particularly with peter pan collars, so find the best options are:
No blouse, wear a cardigan or bolero that suits under the collar
High collar blouse/cutsew that isn't too fussy
Blouse/cutsew with neckline that suits under the dress, so you're basically just wearing it for the sleeves

The other option is wearing a top where there's some decoration along the neckline and it kind of goes along the neckline of the dress, but that usually either covers the collar in which case it's kinda not the point of wearing a dress with a collar, or sits oddly.

what about something like pic related? Sometimes simple is better imho, I think something chiffon with a high neck that echoes the ruffles on the skirt in some way would look particularly nice.

I especially like the tights on the right, personally I think the cat ones are a bit overdone and perhaps slightly too cute for the elegance of the rest of the ensemble.

You can always add elegant and interesting headwear too to really create a visually interesting look.

I would ditch the blue wig and while the rose headdress matches in colors and is lovely, you'll want to find something that either has a marine theme or something a little more general like a bow with similar detailing. Also the BJD tights would be a no. I'd rather see plain tights. I'd also recommend either a lavender blouse (may be something you can get later) as there's a lot of white going on here and it would be a nice way to bring in more color.

Uh, it's okay.
Please don't buy the blouse or wig from Milanoo, they're expensive and will send you something half-assed or never send you anything at all, it doesn't match anyway. The tights don't match too because the rest of the outfit has nothing to do with dolls and from a distance it can just look like your legs are bruised. This is how I would have done it: a hair accessory with either seashells or pearls to match the ones on the JSK, no flowers since flowers don't grow underwater, a sheer blouse (if you're going to use this cutsew, DETACH THE RIBBON FIRST OR IT WILL LOOK WEIRD) and short socks since it's hot summer right now and strappy shoes, and no wig or a naturally-colored wig. And maybe some silver jewelry. I hope this helps.

The purse is a yellow gold while the shoes are more of a rose gold, so that clashes a bit, but it should be fine because they'll be far away from each other so the eye won't be too bothered. Bag is way too sweet plus the rest of the coord isn't really gold based. A nice beaded purse or straw purse (maybe in a more toned down coord without a fancy necklace) would be nice. Or vintage leather.
Anyway I'm not sure those shoes would match, the colour is pretty true to the stock picture and it's a warmer beige.
Elegant short boots would be nicer. If you go brown, match your bag.
Usually not sure about gloves with a long sleeved op, but I think they work. For more ott add rings and go for the bonnet or an elegant, decorated wide brimmed hat.

I would not advise solid tights as they can make your legs look stout if the skirt is not long enough. Otherwise, sailor motifs like anchors on the tights, matched with accessories, would work well.

there's a themed meet coming up soon and I don't have too much time to buy certain pieces like shoes, different color blouse, etc. so majority of these are just items I already own and can make a decent coord with. throwing that out there first since I know some of the colors may be a bit shoehorned.

should I wear the vest or no? I was thinking of making a rosette brooch to match the rest of the coord? for head wear I also was going to make a head piece out of an actual tea cup. definitely want some ideas as to what colors I should go for when making these pieces - because the skirt doesn't have the border print with the red diamonds on it but since my bag is going to be dark red (it's a bit brighter IRL than in the photo) I would like to bring out that color more in other places. Maybe a red/gold/black rosette brooch to pin on the collar? Would that be balanced as I can be if I have those colors in the bag and socks?

Also not sure about the btssb socks, since like I said the skirt I have does not have that diamond border print, so I'm unsure if those socks are a stretch or not.

As for the teacup head piece, I was going to try to add some pastry/sweets cabochons somewhere (perhaps around the saucer?) to kind of tie in the pastries all over the print? perhaps finding some pastry themed jewelry as well

Can someone help me think of topwear/accessories/bags that would make a coord with Gardenberries pop?

The last time I coordinated with it I wore a black bolero with a simple headbow, but I think overall it was a boring coord. Sometimes I regret not getting the cream colorway just because I'm so clueless when it comes to black so I resort to black x black everything.

My second thought was to pull a color from the print (say the red from the strawberries or the cream banner color) and use that as the color for a bolero or blazer (any top really), yet I don't want the coord to look unbalanced since I have a pair of black shoes that I have my heart set to have in the coord. So I'd probably try to get colored tights of some kind.

I don't have a lot of ideas for the head accessory and bag still. I tried to get a BTSSB bag (it looks like a conductor's clock) to make a white rabbit theme, but I couldn't find it in auctions anywhere.

Oh gosh, it was a little over two years ago.

Basically I was looking for a custom bolero to match my DDC jsk and so I picked a design and sent a color swatch plus the stock photo specifically asking for a fabric color that matched the swatch.

It might have been because I lost a lot of weight at the time, but when the package arrived the bolero was very oversized and frumpy, it actually looked a little worse than her stock photo examples of other boleros. What actually set me off was that the color of the bolero was not even remotely close to what I asked for, it was some dark muted color and not even pastel. Back then I was really new to ordering from overseas so I decided to not escalate anything and just keep it. By then I had spent enough money that I just felt really stupid and drained. Lo and behold a few weeks later AP released a bolero in the exact color I needed and I bought that instead.

I finally sold the other bolero a couple months ago.

But maybe you'll be alright if you didn't ask for a custom color or custom measurements, anon.

sorry anon but 10 inches is pretty significant. like, for example, a 26 inch waist and a 36 inch waist are really, really different. that's a pretty good difference in sizes. if you're 10 inches over the max, a corset isn't going to take off enough inches to help you fit into it...if you're 10 inches over bust and./or waist, you also have the shoulders and sleeves to consider. it's just not gonna happen, sorry anon. maybe if you were only 5 inches over the corset could work. I really just recommend that you put the money into finding correct size/custom size blouses - you're already putting in the money to buy expensive dresses. If you don't have that much money then just buy like 1 or 2 versatile blouses that could work with your wardrobe in the mean time. I'd just like to reiterate though, please don't think a corset is going to help you fit into a blouse just right if you're 10 inches past the max measurements.

Um yeah...Even if it takes off 6", corsets actually add bulk as well so you need to add 1-2" to account for the thickness of the corset. You aren't gonna fit in your stuff just with a corset, it'll be weight loss if anything that does it.

IMO I think they should be fine - slight difference in shade I think is fine and you aren't always going to find perfectly matching shades anyway, especially with blue colors like that in particular. any ideas? doesn't really need to be a full coord, I'm also okay with general accessories. I figure the cutsew material would be better for more casual, even more normal-y type outfits. I tried to find worn pics but could only find like, 3.

two questions though
- the buttons on the sleeves are little gold stars, is it too much of a reach if I used a gold star bag?
- dress is a little more sweet in the details (the gold star buttons) but it'd still be fine if I coorded it more gothic, right?

Not bad, but I would be careful with solid colored tights, especially black ones in a coord like this, as they can look a little "heavy". There's no black in the print either - try to stick to colors that are in the dress. I think you would be better off with pink, white, or cream tights. I can't really picture a square neck blouse with that rounded collar tbh, not unless it sits high enough - in my mind it needs a high neck to work but that's just my take on it.

I'd ditch the socks and replace with say, simple white dot tights or lace ankle socks. Change your beret out for a white one or another suitable white hat.

I think all the navy is just kinda swamping you at the moment, try to tone it down and keep it all relatively clean and simple.

The blouse in the collage is a possibly a but perhaps a bit fussy, you could certainly use a simpler looking one, just make sure it's a chiffon type material.

just to add, if you can find socks or tights with a white base and subtle gold star pattern (moons or whatever) then it would really help to bring the gold in and balance it out. Would probably give it a cute otome type look overall too.

As for the tricorn I believe there are a number of indie brands that make them - Shinkurose, lily of the valley/sakurafairy, Sheenasbellabows and Apatico have nice ones, albeit pricey

Hiya gulls
I'm a little bit conflicted with the blouse with this jsk, because the red is just a shade deeper than the ribbon on the jsk. Is it nitpicky or ...? I'm always at a loss for bags. For leg wear, I have the OTKs but I'm thinking it might be a little too busy, so maybe white stockings? (Too cold here atm to wear ankle socks).

A simple brown hairbow in the same shade as the dress would do it for me. Personally I think darker and dusky pinks, light blue or a mid tone violet/purple would look very nice (AaTP's "iris" shade) as third colours with the brown and cream. Tights related.

I think that neckline goes with just about anything (except that funky flower lace blouse with the cutout). Choose a blouse based on what kind of feeling/style you're after, for eg Romantic Sweet Lacy if you want to give a princess feel, one of the shorter-sleeved blouses if you're going for a more relaxed, casual look, or Sugar Airly if you want to look a more formal but not too princessy.

>cros

Don't do that. クロ is kuro, not Cros, and it means black. You'd probably end up spending more time explaining this than getting any real discussions if you keep using this word.

The black looks great. Sometimes /cgl/ gives terrible advice, it happens.

If you were to go with white, I reckon a lighter, sheer chiffon type material would look better and then perhaps white frill ankle socks to balance it all out.

I think a 'half bunches' hairstyle would look really cute with this and give just that bit of lift to avoid everything looking a bit flat.

N-none of things match outside the blouse and shoes, anon. Deeefintitely do not use that wig. Since you're going with lavender, how about a plain light one? The one you picked is too neon.

Thanks! Yeah I think I like black hair/grey flower too. And I totally feel you about chiffon/delicate things, but the OTKs are required this time around (brand tea party). Navy/navy is cute but I don't think the black bag will work with either the white or navy outfits. Maybe a silver star bag and jewellery would break it up a bit more, and would lighten up the white outfit more as well.

>>8432914
Black hair/grey flower, I actually am a sucker for platforms with moitie so keep those but get a grey blouse.
I don't think that choker is going to work with the high collar and the cross pendant is pretty boring and generic, bring in that creepy bird skull theme into the jewellery as a pendant maybe and consider a chiffon blouse with princess sleeves - that way you could also bring the rose motif into bracelets.

Thanks for your advice gull.

>>8434423
Definitely agree re: all details being gold, and sheer white/gold tights. Although if you already have that blouse in that color, you could get away with it since the print has that kind of ivory-beige in it, but if not, a truer white would probably be ideal. Does any of your jewelry have the same navy and/or aqua as the headdress? If not you might consider bringing some of that in if possible. This looks like a stunning coord so far though

I need some help!
I just bought this baby off CC and I have no idea how to get about coordinating it with what I have. I'm primarily a person that wears a lot of darker (blacks) colours, so majority of my 'drobe is black. :\

I'm also in Australia so buying stuff on LaceMarket is a bit tricky (expensive as hell).

Halp? :<

I also need help with finding socks and a cardigan for Loyal Rosette in brown..

Where in Aussie do you live that shortening wardrobe to 'drobe is a thing? Because it honestly makes you sound kinda dumb.

Coord wise, I would hit up Diva/Equip to see if you can find some bows and star clips in that hot pink shade as if you wear entirely black without any pink accents it's going to look weird.
Depending on the temperature, I'd go for a black chiffon blouse, black bolero, black tights/socks with pink stars (easy enough to find on amazon or ebay - this was just the first result on ebay), black shoes and pink hairbow. Black bag will probably be easier - do you have a star bag? Silver star jewellery will pick up the tiny silver accents on the dress, so probably just a simple charm style bracelet and ring.

>>8434710
I'm not quite sure what you're going for in this coord but it looks like you're mixing off-white, beige, pink and brown and not in a very balanced way. Personally I would nix the pink as you've already got beige/brown in the pochette, so go with the beige strawberry dress, off white blouse, straw hat with cream/beige ribbon, plain offwhite socks or tights rather than those weird patterned ones and brown shoes. I wouldn't use those nails for it either, just a plain neutral nail would be fine.

The reason why you're having so much problem is because the bear you bought is ivory and brown, whereas nearly every single thing in Bodyline is white-based, or offwhite based.

This one uses pink and slaps the bear on top. I gotta say, you might still get nitpicked because it doesn't quite all go together.

The bows can be found on Aliexpress. There's a lot of sellers who sell entire lots with free shipping, so you're not spending a bomb.

Coats:

The Bodyline one is beige, which means it might look weird when you put the coat on, and then sling the bear on top (because the bear's bows are ivory/cream, not beige). So there's two other coats from Fanplus Friend, you can request custom colour in ivory/cream or brown to match your bear.

Or, if you're ordering from Infant you might as well get the Creamy Cat coat, it's cute and you can pretend the paws are bear paws.
