First time cosplaying something obscure and ofcourse no one recognized me. But I really loved my cosplay and want to wear it more often (and fix some stuff I'm not happy with)

Was supposed to wear this to Fanime but got too lazy to wear cosplay on that day; I ended up photoshooting at The Last Bookstore, and I love how the pictures came out

The wig was a stand in as the one I wanted hadn't arrived in time. I've also had to fix a number of things after the first wearing of it and found a bunch of issues. Nothing that ruined it the day of, but things that needed to be addressed.

First time making that kind of armor and I still have to improbe, but the ears are modified Necomimi.

To be honest the photo on the left isn't even great, the posing and lightin is obscure so I doubt the photos with the white turtle neck could be any worse.

The voume on your pigtails is in the wrong place. Most of the volume is at the top and thins out at the bottom but your wig is heavy on the bottom plus the pigtails sit too low down (you and see the top of rises pigtails front on). Also I have a feeling your clip one are a tad long but shouldn't be once you clip them higher I think.

Never self posted before but I'm really proud of this costume and I'd also like some critique on it!

A few things first...

Those things aside, I need a way to keep the thigh pieces higher up on my legs so that they don't scrape against the knee parts. Any suggestions? Also, what makeup do you think would be suitable for her if I go without the helmet again? I tried simple liner and mascara and not much else, but I have trouble bringing out my eyes.

You look great!! Have you tried Velcro on the black leggings to help with keeping the leg pieces in place? Also for makeup, using highlighter or a bright eyeshadow on your kids and a white eyeliner pencil on your water line should help bring out your eyes subtly as well!

This is possibly one of my favourite cosplays so far. Note to everyone: Two sweatshirts in Florida is a horrible idea.

If you want to bring out your eyes, pluck your brows to give yourself some more room, apply eyeshadow in nude tones, and use mascara and eyeliner last, use brown instead of black for a less dramatic and natural look.
There are a ton of basic tutorials for eyeshadow application, and for a good middle of the road palette, ask the ladies in the makeup thread.
If you're worried about plucking, I wouldn't, you have a really nice base to work with, just take little by little out from the bottom, middle to the far edge until you like the shape.

White or better yet, shimmery nude eyeliner on the waterline is a very good trick to make your eyes appear larger. You just need a product that is made for that purpose for it to last.There are quite a few options on the market compared to few years ago.

My Mikorin from this past weekend. I was pretty happy with how it turned out for my first cosplay, but now I know what to add/improve for next time. I also have a lot of sympathy for people who do layered cosplay with thicker materials in the summer, even as light as something like this the weather was getting to me.

Is there a such thing as wearing a cosplay too many times? Because of E3, I'm really excited to re-wear my Quiet (I'm the darkie), but I wore it last year too. And with MGSV's release I want to wear it again next year.

I know of someone in my local convention scene who's worn the same military-style steampunk costume for, what, at least five years now?

It doesn't bother me, though, and if you go to cons that are far enough apart with a "fresh audience" so to speak then hardly anyone (if anyone at all) will notice, and they may not even care.

People are even less likely to react negatively to seeing a cosplay again if the cosplay is good, and your Quiet seems pretty good to me.

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate the input! I realized that red contacts would have helped a lot, given the fact that I was wearing contacts already. Where's your wig? Gehrman has long hair. And you're much too clean. Bloodborne is a very gritty game in which everything is covered in rot, blood, or some sort of grime. A trick I discovered when trying to make dirty bandages for a prop on the fly was taking strips of muslin fabric and wiping it with foundation, powder concealer and bits of eyeshadow. Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the wig came out super dark because I dyed it myself (first time wig styling oh yeah) and failed a little bit. And of course I didn't have time/funds to buy a whole new set of wigs and wefts so I just went with it.

Nice, it's great seeing more people take on PAD cosplays, some of the designs are really good. I'd cosplay Kirin but I feel like her design is hard to translate irl.

Last cosplay was Haman, made it in 2012 but touched it up for katsu, due to travel constraints I had to leave my shoulderpads at home, and gotta change the wig, but I'm overall happy with the re-wear.
