I've never bought from miccostumes but from what I see review wise, it's more on the low end.

I've heard cosplaysky get mentioned a few times on /cgl and they have pretty good reviews.

Besides that, I'd say check out ebay as well but be sure to look at seller reputation and reviews. Any time you want to buy from a mass wholesale just check up on google about reviews.

Update on a few products that have arrived:

The placemats are pieces of shit, they arrived rolled up in a poster tube and I've tried straightening them with heavy objects and a hair dryer to no avail.

The lunch box is super cute, sturdy and a decent size.

Totoro tissue box is really good quality too.

Really impressed with the bed sheets, they're soft and have a good print quality. Some minor issues are the pillow cases are a little small and the duvet cover is a little large for my duvet but I knew about the duvet cover when ordering.

The cat tights are very thin and light, and I've heard they fade quickly so I'll probably handwash them. They're really lovely though. They run small, but as long as you have chicken legs they're fine (I'm 5'7" and they fit)

I disagree. Unless I was in the wrong, i.e ordering the wrong size, not reading the description that said something else, I've never had an issue with opening a dispute. The only bad thing is if you want to return something you would probably be paying more in shipping to China than whatever your thing was worth.
Always add pictures with your dispute. Explain everything in simple English but with as much detail as possible. Don't expect to keep a working product and get a full refund for it.

Anyone ever get branded items from AliExpress? Brands like Vivienne Westwood, Rilakkuma/Sanrio, Liz Lisa etc.

Do you think that packages will be seized more or less often than Taobao if shipped via AliExpress? I guess the boxes are bound to be smaller, so maybe less suspicious, but I'm curious if anyone has any experience with it.

I've bought a ton of Rilakkuma shit on AliExpress. I bought a laundry basket, a pouch, some stickers, a pill case, a notepad, and a soap case. There were no problems with me getting my orders. All of the envelopes they came in were pretty small. Was especially surprised to see how flat the order was for the one with the laundry basket, but it sprung into shape when I took it out of the mailer.

You probably run an equal risk for your packages from Taobao or Ali getting seized. I would think it would be more risky to buy popular brands where there is common knowledge of many knockoffs (like Nike, LV, Louboutins, etc.). There is less of a risk for the brands you've named, because they aren't as well-known or watched for (not sure about Westwood, though, since all high fashion designers might have *some* risk).

It also may depend on the location you plan on getting your orders delivered to. I'm from the US, which may be more lenient about seizing shit.

Be careful with the cherry clip anon! I bought that before and when I got it one of the cherries was smushed. I had to take out the stem [pretty much ripped that sucker out] in order to stick a pen or something inside to try and pop as much of it out. Besides that it's really cute and I was able to put it all together and hide the smushed part.

From what I understand (and take all of this with a grain of salt because I'm really not sure), AE uses Alipay, which works like Paypal in that it keeps the seller from seeing your credit card info. The difference here is that you have to input your credit card info each time you make a purchase instead of just logging into an account like you would with Paypal.
I think Alipay also holds your money until you confirm you received your item? Really not sure about that though.
