Uh, actually unless you are wearing an overbust, they are meant to wear with a bra. It isnt a pain, although I have seen suggested that you wear a bra a bit too tight because it will fit better when you wear the corset. You also have to make sure that you are wearing a bra that covers enough because the push of the corset can make your nipple come out of a bra that normally fits well. Another way to avoid this is to get a corset that doesnt go as high up your torso, which gives a bigger gap between the bra and the corset. This however can lead to a bit of a muffin top effect if you are fleshy.

I think the main problem with this is that the waist is baggy and lumpy. The materials and colours are shit, but if she redid this with decent cloth and lace it would still look wrong. I'm assuming it's a WIP and that the hems will be finished off etec, but this type of dress needs higher panniers and ideally a corset to look good. This just looks deflated and sad. And I've been following a lot of the back and forth, and I disagree. The big issue is that people are seeing matching shades of red and going "oh, nitpick", but to fix the issues with this outfit, you'd have to swap out a hell of a lot of things. Either a new skirt, new shoes, new corset or new corset, new blouse, new socks and shoes.

The skirt has a really oldschool flavour, while the blouse is more contemporary and absolutely swallowing her neck with that high collar. It also disrupts the balance of things because there's no white anywhere but the shoes and skirt. The shoes and corset fit with neither of the main two pieces, and the socks (while the least offensive part of the outfit) would be better with white lace instead of the red, to go with the skirt. It also looks like she is wearing the skirt undone/low on her hips for extra length, which distorts the shape along with the corset front.

TL;DR: I feel like there are too many pieces out of balance for this to just be a nitpick, and that while the skirt and blouse aren't bad on their own, the only reason people are saying nitpick is because she's thin, pretty, and has nice legs.

Easiest fix would be to get an oldschool white blouse with a less neck-eating collar, different shoes, and an oldschool bustier like pic related.

Change the shoes - I hate bordello/pleaser heels in lolita because they look cheap, but that's just me. The collar looks ill fitting and oddly cut, making it seem more like a costume than anything. Her hair looks like a helmet - softer and longer or a blunt hime cut would really suit this.

If she wants to wear a corset, she should think about wearing it underneath with a really slim cut blouse and scooting the skirt up a little higher on her waistline.
