Can we have discussion about replicas? I'm looking to buy a replica of AP's British Crown. I wonder if anyone has thoughts about it.

I consider myself an alt-replica and support lolitas who can't afford replicas.

NO.

Seriously, instead of buying a replica either save up for the actual brand piece or support indie brands. Seriously, why would you buy a replica of a print that new?

I was told Oo Jia was going to produce British Crown replica so I got excited.

I missed out on the release and it was sold out.

i'm going to assume this is a troll post because

>"i consider myself an alt-replica"

but you are not entitled to any print just because you were incompetent and missed out on it. tough luck.

Not OP and yeah they seem trollish, but in regards to replicas - I've seen it discussed a lot in the past on cgl that DESIGN replicas are more acceptable. Especially when it comes to shoes and bags, but mostly just shoes seeming to be the only ever real reason to buy a replica as it's just not possible to get smaller feet for some people.

However, since some design replicas are acceptable, at what point does paying someone to make a design replica become a bad/unacceptable thing?

I don't know too much about sewing but I have a friend who is a seamstress for a living and she wants to collaborate on dresses with me. They would be non-print and mostly just circle skirts and jsks which would be some easy money for her to make. However, I feel like most lolita cuts have been done already, am I wrong in that? And so, would I be paying her to make a design replica? Should I only be using patterns from otome books and meta because patterns have been made readily available?

I commissioned a seamstress to make me a 'replica' of Innocent World's Marie Rose, to see it you'd never tell what it was based on, simply because the materials I had available were completely different. You'll probably find the same thing

OP is a bad troll, it has been done many times before, shitposters don't put effort anymore.
Anyway here's a hilarious shitty replica.

I have an old bodyline dress that was sold to me as a replica but when I looked it up, it didn't look anything like the dress from Mary Magdalene that they had claimed. However, it does give me a MM vibe. It's nothing amazing but it's nice for casual simple classic coords.
