Was looking for some suggestions on what to do with my Knock-off Wego bag since it's kinda defective.
I bought it on a whim a while ago since I really wanted to make an ichimatsu bag but the straps on the bag were sewn so off center it leans to the side when you have both straps on. It looks decent with one strap on your back but it's a pain in the ass to carry around(especially at cons) with just one strap and can slide off.
Should I just suck it up and keep it or sell it for super cheap? I thought about throwing it away but goddammit it makes me feel bad since it's technically still useful

Hello anons, I was wondering what sort experience people here have with modifying base bags? i'm in the planning stage of making a bag for Bruno Buccellati. I'm planning on using a heart window bag and I really want to both add the pattern on his suit onto the base bag and add his chest thingy around the window. I've been thinking of using leather paint for the design but attaching the chest thing is stumping me, I'm not sure if I could just glue it or if I would have to hand sew it or something. I'm also making a themed outfit and I was planning on doing that in his black colorway but the bag in his white colorway, does that seem like it could look balanced?

I think leather paint should work. But to be safe test the paint on the bag's back or bottom, someplace it won't be seen, and see how it wears and tears before painting the front. I would hand sew the chest piece. Make sure to use a sharp needle since it is time consuming and can hurt your fingers. Glue can peel with time and sewing would last longer.

Could anyone suggest a decent SS/agent for Taobao? I found a ton of charms/pins/small stuff I wanna order, but everythings from a bunch of different shops and I don't want to get hit super hard with shipping.

Makoto bag anon from the new fb group here! I recently got my earless version of this bag and i love it so far! Pic is a comparison. I've yet to put in any merch since i'm still collecting them (ffxv/prompto bag) but i can give a mini review of it!

It's really sturdy and can fit more things in it than a wego heart bag can. Also there's no need to worry about sagging inner linings. A few minorrr things that slightly bothered me was that the vinyl part can be opened with 2 zips but the main bag has only one and that when i first recieved it, there was a strong smell. I don't know how to describe it, but maybe like a fake pleather stench? Definitely needed to be aired out for 1-2 days. Too bad it only comes in black at the moment. I highly reccomend it to anons who want a glitter-less frameless wego bag!

Happiest impulse buy has been YuYu Hakusho charms. When they arrived they were huge! Absolutely regret.. getting some doujinshi. If I had around or more than 15-20 rubber straps/charms, would an A4 Salus shoulder bag be enough to display them all, or should I bump it up to an A3 size? I'm worried about the bag being too small/too big once it actually comes in.

You can find the measurements for a4 size online anon. Same with A3, A5, etc. Use that and your straps to figure it out.

It depends on the sizes of your straps. I want the same bag in the A4 size and am planning to have about 20-25 straps and to fill the rest of the empty space with buttons (even if I have to make custom ones). Other side will have a folded towel and pillowcase.

Same anon with Otamart. Haven't heard back from proxy and someone bought one of the lots I really wanted so I'm a bit bummed out. I'm using Luxas proxy and heard they take up to 24 hours to respond. Hopefully I can add more listings to my order to make up for the listing I lost.

Just want to say that I received my order from Mercari through Japonica this week, and it was packaged beautifully (not sure if this was the Mercari seller or Japonica themselves) and everything was individually wrapped. The package wasn't undervalued, but it was marked as a gift, with the contents listed as "used character merchandise." It came super quickly, and they were very easy to communicate with.

Overall, 10/10.

Here's my personal rule for that, if you have another buyer that is willing to pay right away, drop the person that continually refuses to pay or continually delays payment. Usually, not in all cases, they will just not pay in the end at all. Or, tell them you need them to pay for each piece and will calculate a final shipping cost once they've paid for everything they've wanted. As much as I'd rather sell in bulk, sometimes it's better to snag a small sale than no sale at all (unless you're not tight on money and are super patient).

Deresute itabag ano here again. I ended up decorating and re-arranging the whole backpack. I made some jewelry out of pearls and beads and arranged the girls according to their types (cool-cute-passion) and managed to make them also be w their unit members. I am so happy with it now! use washi tape to cover the backing, it comes in a lot of colors and looks very pretty. the glue is also not strong to damage the charm.
you can also use clear shelf liner, it's not that sticky.
side on both side and cut around the charm, leave a edge and push together to make a "laminated" look.

I use regular scotch tape and have never had an issue with any of my acrylic charms peeling off. It's no where near as strong/sticky as duck tape, so that's probably why.

I was there last month and the only wego I found heart bags at was in Osaka, in the location near Glico man, althought not a lot of colors to choose from. All the ones I visited in Tokyo, only had a few of the canvas shoulder bags and one of them had the small holographic heart bags but that might be because it was in crowded Harajuku and surrounding area. Perhaps they'll restock? I ended up buying my heartbag online after I returned.
I found base bags at Kotobukiya in Akihabara as well, might be worth a look, pic related.

On another note, I was lucky to be there at the time Riyoko Ikeda's 50th Anniversary of her career was in Osaka and there was SO much merch at the shop, a lot of it that could be used for itabagging (sadly, I think it's over now, it was in Yokohama till the 8th of May). I think I saw some stuff at Kyoto's manga museum as well. If you're going, I hope you can still find a lot of stuff somewhere else, the merch was gorgeous. So I have a wego heart knockoff backpack that I've pretty much decorated the outside of a good deal. The window part is pretty full and I have 6 more keychains, two straps, plus another 3 keychains/charms coming in the mail. I have no freaking clue where or how to attach them. I kinda want to keep a backpack, It's mostly for a cosplay bag and would be more character appropriate for a backpack, particularly a black pleather looking one rather than a big vinyl tote.

I was thinking about ripping seams on the side near the zipper and inserting a pleather strap with a ring, sewing it back up to secure it and then do a grape vine thing off the sides maybe?

What's the best way to 'iron out' wrinkles in the vinyl windows? I got a Salus backpack and the front panel has some wrinkles in the centre. For some reason they shipped it in a large paper bag instead of a box.

You can see the vinyl window here. It was honestly easier to work with than I expected! I just cut out a big piece, pinned it in place along the edge of the cutout (making sure to only pin around the very edges because it doesnt heal) and stitched it down with a regular foot, cutting the excess off in the inside afterwards

For my acrylic charms that aren't sealed on the back, I take a piece of packing tape and cover them, then use a utility knife to cut them out, and then it's like they're sealed on the back. Then I use packing tape to stick them to the bag. I also just put packing tape directly on rubber straps because I don't care if the logo/copyright wears off.
