Can we have a shoe thread? I'll start with a small dump and some questions:

What style of jfash/lolita do you wear?
What is your favorite brand or place to get shoes?
What are your most favorite/most owned colors? What colors do you wish you could find more of?
What shoes are you searching for or wish you could own?

Pic related is Vivienne Westwood's rocking horse shoe.

What style of jfash/lolita do you wear?
casual and gothic lolita
What is your favorite brand or place to get shoes?
I don't have one, I only buy shoes every 2 years. But OP's rocking horse shoes are my favourite, definitely worth the money!

I mostly own black, I need more brown

Not sure I have a favorite brand but I'm definitely a fan of real leather shoes. They are so much nicer than man made materials.

>What are your most favorite/most owned colors? What colors do you wish you could find more of?
I need to stop buying black shoes and start buying more brown.

>What shoes are you searching for or wish you could own?
I'd love a pair of nice dark brown ankle boots. Still on the hunt for a specific pair.

>What style of jfash/lolita do you wear?
Oldschool>gothic>sweet-classic>classic>straight-up sweet prints in dark jewel tones. 50% of my wardrobe is black and I've dabbled in jgoth, otome and cult party kei.
>What is your favorite brand or place to get shoes?
The shoes Lizjill on Taobao does are really comfortable and I want to get more, but they haven't restocked the styles I want in a while. BtSSB and Queen Bee are pretty nice. Bodyline and Demonia shoes are hard and uncomfortable. Clarks do some comfy real shoes I use for work but it's rare to find loliable styles. I honestly think Fluevogs and the injection-molded Vivienne Westwood shoes ugly but I'd love to own their real leather RHS.
>What are your most favorite/most owned colors? What colors do you wish you could find more of?
Black for obvious reasons. I wish it was easier to find more different shades of brown since there are a lot of different browns in lolita clothes and bags but most brands only seem to do one shade for shoes.
>What shoes are you searching for or wish you could own?
A pair of cool dark brown classic low-heeled shoes and knee-high boots, a pair of medium brown ankle boots (pic related, sadly sold out) and maybe RHS, maybe some aged leather effect heeled Mary Janes. Also looking for a non-oldschool pale pink shoe that'll work in sweet-classic, some low-heeled cream summer shoes for classic (not open toed but maybe a open at the side or with cutout details) and a pair of patent black shoes. Considering getting some pale pink RHS as well since summer always brings a brief CPK revival but I think the style might be too dead.

My storage is really limited and it's already hard to store the amount of shoes I have (20+ not counting normie shoes), but I always feel like I don't have enough to match the stuff I own because I wear a lot of different styles...I feel like I ought to downsize but I don't really own anything I don't use.

I have a pair of tea party shoes in pale pink and I'm feeling guilty for liking them because of how many lolitas think they look like clown shoes/hate them.
I have small feet and it's a really pale color so they look good but I think that wearing them in red or flash pink would make them look like actual clown shoes especially if you have bigger feet.

Also desperately trying to find replicas of Honey Cross shoes or Heart Buckle shoes (the 3cm platform version) but Bodyline ones are sold out. Fuck it.

I want knee high lolita boots, but my legs are somewhat thick and muscular, so I don't know how well brand ones will fit. Does anyone know how well brand boots fit thicker legs, or the average measurements of the leg part of most of them? If they won't fit, does anyone know where I can get lolita boots that fit larger legs? My legs aren't fat or huge, just thicker than the average Japanese lolita's.

Unfortunately pic related is my favorite shoe. The heel is just the right height to make my legs look great and they balance my coords well. However, they are just so obviously Bodyline and that puts me off. Probably not helpful but don't even bother trying Bodyline boots. I have nonexistent anthrophied stick calves and their boots were pretty uncomfortable anyway. So, I have been walking in heels of all sorts since I was a kid (my mom got me into cosplay when I was 9) but for the life of me I cannot walk in rocking horse shoes!

The only ones I have tried are bodyline RKS's so I don't know if that makes a difference, but walking just a few steps is nearly impossible due to my balance. I just feel like I am walking on uphill sloped rolling logs or something! And I have shoes ranging from flats, to 7in platforms, to nearly straight up stilettos and everything inbetween. Rocking horse shoes are just, seemingly impossible to me.

Are there any tips for walking in them? any at all?

This is hard because it depends what I want. If I want high quality flashiness, Fluevog for sure. But if I want something stadard to go with a lot of classic or toned down coordinates, I usually choose something like Cobb Hill or lately I've been really getting into Hotter shoes.

>What are your most favorite/most owned colors? What colors do you wish you could find more of?
Most worn would be Cobb Hill. I wear them for work as well as lolita. I have a lot of random offbrand I'll wear once in a while lol, but most owned probably would be Fluevog actually.

>What shoes are you searching for or wish you could own?
I have a shitload of black shoes. A single pair each of red, navy. Two pairs of brown.
I think I'm pretty good with lolita, I have about 4 colors max in my wardrobe, including black and white.
For nanchatte, I wish I could find comfy loafers in normie stores here that fit me and don't have retarded 'unique' details. I wear nanchatte when I want to be comfy and go to the grocery store. Lolita is more for dressier events like meeting friends or dinner out.
I also want a pair of RHS that will fit me, but that dream will most likely never come true.

Gothic and sweet mostly, dabble in classic. My casual style is varied but more on the casual gothic/rock side of jfashion with bits of victorian goth influence.

>What is your favorite brand or place to get shoes?
I don't really have a favourite brand. I'm lucky that I wear a size 24-24.5 so both Western shoe brands and Eastern ones have my size - I can buy from basically anywhere. I wish there were more brands that made black leather platform shoes that work for goth, most of it seems to be pleather or stuff that's western goth like New Rock.

I don't like TUK or irregular choice even though the styles are nice - I find their heels really uncomfortable.

>What are your most favorite/most owned colors?
Black. I still don't have enough black shoes/boots.

Meta. When I started out I had mostly Antaina and Bodyline. Then I got Baby and AP and while they are nicer than Antaina they are super uncomfy, especially Baby. I got new pair of Meta's engineer boots and fell in love. Since then I have gotten two pairs of wooden sole shoes and I'm pretty positive I will never buy anything else again. Meta is quite afforable and definitely worth every damn penny.

I'm going on holiday soon and it's really made me realise how uncomfortable most of my lolita shoes are. I'm having a hard time packing because there is literally nothing, out of over 20 pairs, that wouldn't fuck my feet up if I wore them for two weeks straight. I own brand, Taobao, Bodyline and some Western goth brand shoes and because they're all pleather they're all really hard, so anything with even a low heel (don't own any flats like tea parties because they don't fit my wardrobe) ends up with your feet sliding forward into the toebox and gets really painful after a while. Ironically the comfiest Bodyline shoes I own with the most padded insoles are some massive goth platforms, but the high heel and platform still make them painful to wear for more than a few hours and risky on uneven surfaces.

Are there any solutions to this at all? I did some Googling and some sites suggested padding the toes with lambswool like ballerinas do but I don't know if that's just a temporary fix. Could a gripper insole prevent my feet sliding forward in the first place? I've tried gel insoles and while they make the sole more comfortable, they do absolutely nothing for the hard toebox problem and some of my shoes don't have enough extra room for insoles. It's gotten to the point where I'm trying to plan my entire holiday wardrobe around a pair of work Mary Janes, because I needed real shoes that I could wear for more than eight hours at a time and they were the only loliable style I could find in normie stores.

I can't help anon but I feel you on Bodyline's platforms being weirdly comfier than their low-heeled shoes. I own pic related discontinued style on the left and they're actually fine to walk in, but they look so high that friends, family, relatives and complete strangers make snarky comments about me being dressed impractically whenever I wear them. I'm also pretty clumsy and tend to stumble a bit whatever shoes I wear, but the fact they look high means people give you no sympathy and end up being really patronising with the whole "silly girls wearing stupid high heels that make them fall over" thing. Whereas the ones on the right look simple and less extreme so nobody ever says anything while I'm wearing them, despite the fact they're really hard inside and make my feet hurt after a couple of hours.

I said some of my shoes don't have enough extra room for insoles, it's an issue of them having a slippery inner sole and a hard toebox. I don't doubt that loose shoes exacerbate the problem (brand shoes having such large differences between size is an issue, as is Bodyline's sizing being inconsistent) but I've owned a couple of different JP and CN sizes in the past while trying to figure out my size and I can say pretty confidently that I'm a 23.5 and not a 23.0 or a 24.0. Demonias use UK sizing and I've owned them in a size down from my usual as well because I heard they run large, and the smaller ones are just as bad for this as the larger ones because the toebox is really, really hard and my toes are pressed into it.

Oldschool yes, goth gothic no IMO. Sweet-gothic AP/Taobao stuff yes. I think in modern lolita that sort of chunky shoe with a very rounded toe and mary jane straps looks a little sweet for a lot of gothic but this might be a minority opinion. You can really see it in some worn photos, IRL I think they make your feet look like stubby round doll shoes.

I've been having a lot of the same issues (not going on holiday, but trying to transition to wearing lolita daily). On paper my wardrobe looks casual and versatile but a lot of my shoes are too painful to wear daily. Insoles like Foot Petals help but it'd cost me hundreds to buy them for all my lolita shoes and I'm worried about them affecting resale value since you can't unstick them. I actually just ordered a pair of ballerina toe pad things lately (pic related), since I figured I could transfer them between shoes as needed. I'll post a review in the thread once I've got them, since they're kind of expensive (there are knockoffs on Ali but I don't have the time to wait months for them to arrive).

Have you tried padding the ball of the foot with the textured gel insoles and using an arch support? The arch support stops you sliding forward so much, and doesn't take up the space of a full insole. Textured ball of foot padding should stop you slipping forward, I usually double the padding or put a softer foam underneath as the gel ones aren't usually that thick - with foam I prefer to have about 1cm of padding that I can squish down into (seems like a lot but if it's light foam rather than gel it compresses heaps and gets really comfy).

Probably Lacemarket. FromJapan ship via DHL now as well so you might be able to get some from Queen Bee or similar in time, since that takes like 3-5 days to Europe so if you're lucky with domestic shipping and their packing it could be with you in a week and a half, but it might be slower to your country.

I think it's got to do with the shape of the toebox more than anything, one of my comfiest shoes (despite not having a really squishy insole) is pic related from An*Tai*Na and my shoes are actually right down in the toes on those. Because the shape of the toebox pretty much exactly fits my actual foot, this is comfy (I feel like I lack a bit of arch support, since the shoe starts arching down a centimetre or so before my foot does naturally, but that might be because I sized up). I've worn them for long days on my feet at cons and it was fine for the first 8-10 hours. Whereas I also have the rightmost shoes of >>9479515 and they're fucking uncomfortable because the toes pretty much go straight across so instead of being a comfortable snug fit, it's like your toes are hitting a blunt wall. I don't even have room for insoles in them.

I also feel like lizjill's shoes are super comfy but they haven't restocked the size I want in a while, I have a pair of the replicas of the BtSSB Antique Ribbon Shoes (which are sold out right now) and they've got a really squishy insole and are nice to wear. I've got the same arch issue with lizjill but, again, it's probably because I got my Chinese size wrong for my first couple of Taobao orders.
https://world.taobao.com/item/36301523883.htm

Unfortunately both those shoes are pretty sweet and I own them in bright colours, so they're useless for daily wear since they don't match any of my gothic, oldschool or toned-down classic stuff. The closest I have to comfy shoes for oldschool is a few different brands of RHS, which are still treacherous on uneven surfaces, and some offbrand ankle boots for gothic. I don't have any really comfortable classic shoes, even though you think they'd be easy to find (last pair I bought on the high street were too wide at the heel so my feet kept slipping out, even with inserts).

Before I drop $80 plus shipping on these, does anyone own these Queen Bee shoes and can tell me how they fit compared to other Queen Bee shoes? I've owned a different pair of flat Queen Bee shoes before, but I'm between sizes - an L fits with a little extra room, but an M would be too small. Looking at the design of these I'm worried my heel would be at risk of slipping out in an L. Has anyone found that an issue? Worn pics would be amazing as well, in some pictures these look like straight-up tea parties but in others they look more subdued and useable for classic or even gothic.

Pretty decent if you're an oldschool-leaning sweet lolita, probably inadequate otherwise. It's impossible to judge a collection in isolation without seeing your wardrobe to know whether it matches will with the dresses you own.

Like, I'm sure if I posted a photo of my 25-pair collection it'd look impressive, but if you compare it to my wardrobe it's obvious that I have like a dozen dresses/bags that don't really match any of my shoes at all, and a couple of pairs of shoes that don't match any of my dresses or bags but I love the design too much to sell. Esp. with stuff like reds, a photo might look like you've got three nice pairs of red shoes but then if you saw your wardrobe they might all be the wrong shade of red for what you actually own.

BtSSB's Victoire shoes are similar but I find them harder to walk in than other RHS, since they don't have a notch at the back and the part of the shoe in contact with the floor is narrower than your sole (hard to explain without seeing the underside in person and I couldn't find any photos, but they're kind of tapered and the "footprint" of the shoe is smaller than your foot, whereas with typical RHS it'll be the same size). BtSSB shoes are also pretty hard inside and because they space for toes isn't very high I'm not sure if there'd be room for an insole to compensate.

I'm looking for a pair of white platform shoes. I'm not too fussed on the details as long as they're cute and walkable, both open and closed toe is fine. Would prefer shoes with a distinct heel to a single wedge platform. (I don't wanna narrow down the description any further to keep the range of possible suggestions as wide as possible)
The problem is that I seem to be exactly in between sizes S and M in most Japanese brands (my feet are 23 cm & they're very slightly on the wider side, i wear a uk 3/eu 36 usually) so out of 8+ pairs of cute shoes I've bought so far only one has actually fit me. I would like something that can withstand some degree of wear so so far I've avoided ali/taobao but if anyone has recommendations for a specific style I'm all ears.

Please help a barefoot lolita.

A couple months ago I started having horrid pains in my knees and my back. After several months of tests and PT and whatnot, turns out my "funny" way of walking that no doctor had given importance to before was a combination of joint issues and a birth defect in my legs that has now eroded through my kneecaps and some of the bones in my feet. This translates to resin orthotics and no heels, and that has seriously affected my lolita wardrobe because all of my loliable shoes either have heels that are too high for me to wear or I can't fit them anymore now that I have to wear the insoles at all times (went from a 24.5 to a 25).

My wardrobe is more or less an even split of old school nonprint BTSSB and not-so-recent gothic (think turn of the decade AatP). Ideally I'd settle for something with minimal heel (like Tea Parties, since they can't be 100% flat either) but a bit less sweet so I can wear it with the more elegant prints. RHS and other high flatforms are out of the picture too due to endless sprained ankles in the past. Please, help a seagull out.

Maybe the BtSSB heart buckle shoes or replicas of them? They're oldschool but have a tiny flatform with a bit of a slope so they're not 100% flat either. I hear the design (glued-on foam sole that comes off because it can't flex) means they break easily though, so paying full brand price is not worth it. They got re-released recently and they're pretty easy to find on Fril and Mercari - there's a pair up right now but they're not in your size:
https://item.fril.jp/ae8f6e622fb75826bd01d916d4ac13d2

BtSSB have also released a lot of other flat-ish shoes that would work for oldschool or otome, like these (linking to fril again because I can't remember the name and lolibrary doesn't have the shoes back up):
https://item.fril.jp/2726e476ea5c17c6fc7432efbc593f33

There were also a lot of low-flatform cork-soled shoes with a sloped heel back in the day and An*Tai*Na and Angelic Imprint on Taobao have some replicas of them. They're a really sweet shoe though and wouldn't work with your AatP stuff.

Thank you for responding! I actually owned a pair of Heart Buckles (the BL replicas) a while back, but I ended up ditching them because the sole came appart all the time, and by the time I spent more money on the cobbler than on the actual shoes I just tossed them.

I'll check Baby for other flat shoes, thanks for the tip. Cork soles might be a bad idea because I live in a very rainy area and for what I understand they don't tend to hold up that well, plus they're too sweet.

A lot of classic/elegant styled dresses have this sort of bronze incorporated into their colours. You see it more on dresses with classical painting prints etc.

It's also easy to match up with bronze accessories. The basic colours (black/white/red) for RHS work better with oldschool/sweet/gothic.

>What style of jfash/lolita do you wear?
Oldschool, classic, gothic, hime.
>What is your favorite brand or place to get shoes?
Not sure if I have one, I find nearly all my lolita shoes a bit uncomfortable. Bodyline's huge colour and style selection and low price used to be handy, but now they're jacked-up and never restocked nothing's filled the void. I mostly buy second-hand Baby and IW shoes now but I'm not that impressed by the quality.
>What are your most favorite/most owned colors? What colors do you wish you could find more of?
Black, whites. I wish it was easier to distinguish white, offwhite and cream online. I feel like I need shoes in at least four slightly different shades of red.
>What shoes are you searching for or wish you could own?
I want real leather Vivienne Westwood rocking horse ballerinas. I keep thinking about saving up and buying a pair if I have money over at the end of the summer but I'm anxious as fuck and worry a lot about damaging such an expensive pair of shoes. Since they're well-known as a designer brand among normies I even worry about it making me a target for theft.

Question for everyone- what are your most worn burando shoes? I want a pair of versatile shoes since I wear classic and sweet, both old and new school, in pastels, bright colors, and jewel tones. I have no idea what would go with the most. Most of my blouses are white, I also have cream and black.

I used to have these in black and wore the shit out of them to the point of no return. IW shoes aren't that great quality for the price but they had a few good years. I wear classic primarily but they worked pretty well for casual and other jfashion-inspired outfits.

I have another pair of IW shoes in a sort of similar design, except the bow is a ribbon you have to tie up. Been wearing them pretty frequently over the past 2 years.

I think some Mary Jane heels would cover most of the styles you wear quite safely. Just have to hunt down the right pair that suits each style well enough.

I'd love to see them worn and get a better idea of the colour compared to lolita golds, since they're listed as bronze but look more gold. Sizing info relative to UK/JP sizing would also be great because I'm a half size and don't know whether to go up or down, and there are no physical stores where I can try them out.

>>9515228
I've seen knockoffs of the Alexander McQueen heel in normie stores, which might be why. What would I respond with if someone directly asked as well? Lie and say they're fake? When I've worn Bodyline RHS out I got "WHAT ARE THOOOSE" a lot but I didn't worry about saying the brand because they're cheap and nobody's heard of them. If I say VW people will know they're expensive.

>what are your most worn burando shoes?
Probably my BtSSB Victoire shoes in various colours, they work for classic and sweet and other jfash as well, like CPK, and I really like the way they look. They're fine as oldschool RHS if you squint even though they came out in the past ten years AFAIK. They're not that comfortable though so I'm not sure I can wholeheartedly recommend them, but BtSSB have a lot of shoes that'd work for old and new classic and sweet. I don't think a single colour could go with all of that range though, you'd have to get more than one, unless gold would work with both your light and dark newschool stuff?

If they're anything like other BL RHS they'll run narrow and squash your toes. I'd say go up a size (eg 24 if you're 23.5) because they get uncomfortable and you then have space for insoles if necessary. BL RHS have a decently solid sole for being foam and the upper is comparable to other BL shoes.

nice trips, but you wasted them on an incorrect statement. the pheromones released by an average decently bathed girl when she has sweaty barefeet are proven pleasant to both male and other female noses than her average well bathed male. it also helps that girls also have less sweat glans in their feet than males as well.

regardless while the original(im guessing girl to bring this up) had some people tell her female feet are just as gross as males, well, on day 4 of GENCON the entire complex smells like BO, water dog water, and greasy french fries. I gladly welcome the smell of a barefoot cosplay girl over than ANY day. She literally would have had to step in human waste to beat that smell. go barefoot, have fun, maybe it's the slight footfag in me but girls cosplaying "slave leia" or morgianas that do it barefoot just look awesome and really cute.

walking in the both carpeted convention center and hotel, and then street with all the good catering trucks and beer gardens are clean too so your Chell would be comfy there while barefoot, BUT definitely definitely definitely keep a pair of flip flops for when you need to use the restroom. i dont even like going in a convention center bathroom wearing sperrys with no socks...i cant imagine being barefoot. Forgot about this for ages but I've been using those toe pad things for a while and desu they're not really worth it, they take up a lot of room in the shoe but don't really increase the comfort level of having your feet in a hard, injection-molded shoe that much. They're better than nothing but I feel like ball of foot insoles that stopped your feet sliding forward in the first place would have a bigger impact.

Generic styles like MJs are not hard to find from alt shops and places that cater to drag queens and crossdressers either - probably easier and more reliable to get something for gothic/classic that way than waiting for An*Tai*Na.

Demonia womens' shoes typically go up to a 9 UK, which is an 8 mens (they size slightly large as well). Pleaser go up even higher on some styles, I've seen Victorian-style boots from them go up to a 12. Other repro footwear and goth brands like Oak Tree Farms and Funtasma also might fit as your feet are average mens and not gigantic. Places like Clarks should do womens' shoes in large sizes too if it's for crossplay.

Generally avoid anything too pointy as they'll visually elongate your giant man feet even more.

Army/military surplus store if they have those in your country. How soon is the cosplay needed? Ordinary high-street fashion chains tend to get them in in autumn/winter but you're not going to find them in summer unless you have a Doc Martens store. Depending on the style of boot needed you could try an alternative/goth store in your city as well, since stompy combat groups are perennial in goth and deathrock fashion and there should be Doc Martens, Demonias etc available there.

>> No.9559698

I bought mine from some website in the UK in a UK 4 which is a US 6 and a EU 37 (according to the bottom of the shoe) I own other styles of melissa which I've bought in EU 37 and I do think these fit true to size, as opposed to some of their queen II flats (which fit tight, need to stretch but are comfortable after about a month's wear) and the ultragirl flats (which fit loose, about a half size big/need to wear insoles) I also own their RHS which definitely fit tight, but the sandals fit right in between without having to break them in or wear insoles etc which I have had to do with their other shoes in the past. I'd say they're definitely quite true to size as opposed to their flats which differ in sizing and never seem to be my true size. As for the ankle straps, they're adjustable and depending on which colour/finish you go for it'd probably be easy to make your own holes if you want the strap to fit bigger or smaller. The wing is detachable though so it might slide around and look out of place like >>9520954 if they're not positioned right when you do up the ankle strap but otherwise I think they're pretty true to their UK and European sizing at least.
