Reposting from the last thread, I'm looking for some gulls who would want to share an interior design blog/tumblr with me

https://maximumcomfy.tumblr.com/

what I need to add:
>Theme change
in the future, I'll change the theme/header to better fit everyone added to the blog's tastes.
>user profiles
I'd like each person to have their own tag "mod N" or "mod Z" - which you could click and see whatever these users post
and a little "about me" section saying their fashion style, their interests, their preferred interior design styles, and a link to their social media of choice. If people get on board and are active, I'd like to make chibi artwork of them to better fill out their profiles. cute stuff
>theme tags
click a tag with a theme, you see more stuff of said theme
>original posts
if you can take pictures of your interior or even the interior of hotels/restaurants you fancy, that'd make for cool content.

All interior design is welcome. Not just stuff that is my personal aesthetic. If you want to Join just send me an ask, or message me on tumblr.
Have my College bathroom, cost me $30 in total.

the issue with pic related is I can only think about

>how hard it would be to change the sheets
>Bed being pressed up against a window with possible condensation issues
>fire risk of bed being so close to TWO heaters.

but it's comfy looking

>> No.9578377

I had never actually paid attention to the heaters before; that's a little concerning. I've just always loved how comfy this looks. Sure, it'd be a pain to change the sheets, but it's not like you have to bother with that every day.

Wow, ty goth anons for all the new inspo! I haven't seen a lot of these before

Anyway, interesting decor related story...

>be me visiting long distance so two hours away
>leave so's place to visit grandma living nearby
>parents say she had a present for me
>arrive, grandmother takes me to the dining room
>4 or 5 huge boxes on the table
>apparently grandma's best friend had a brother who passed away
>He was a former addict/alcoholic who got really into theater in his recovery
>she opens a box
>inside are dozens of decorative porcelain theater/masquerade masks

Would any of you like to see these neat things? I wanna do something cool with them but I don't think all of them quite fit my gothic tastes. I mean I may even want to give some away to any anons that like theater. They're at my brother's house at the moment but I can pick them up and take photos soon.

Yes, which is why I'm taking my time and brainstorming before I redo my room again. Redecorating can cost serious money so it's okay to take your time to figure out which direction you want to go in. Yep, If you're just doing a room, then the wall colour and furniture are most important.
If you can paint: I'd go a pink or cream tone
Can't paint: Wall decals, stick-on wallpaper
Curtains: Wide stripe, lace, chiffon, floral print
Try and find a cute curtain rod or use a flower garland
Textiles: Depending on how much you want to spend or what you already have but a chic quilt cover and throw blanket look nice.

Furniture: If you're buying antiques then best of luck with your hunt, otherwise I'd go with the same tone of wood or white pieces.

Here's some inspo

Washi tape worked surprisingly well when I put some all over the edges on mine. If you get some that's a little see-through but want to give the colors more "zing", try a solid white tape under it.

Pic related is what I did but it isn't my desk. Downside might be that it might not look very mature, but it helped give my plain white desk a pop of color. Washi tape is also pretty gentle so it's easy to correct mistakes when applying it and it's not likely to damage the finish.

I'm looking for Gothic room inspo for a small room. I'm decorating a weird storage room that's an awkward L-shape to be my crafting space, but all the Gothic room inspo I find is either for grand Gothic mansions/castles or for Goth bedrooms. I want somewhere to sew my Aristo/Gothic Lolita stuff that matches what I'm making. Trying to put together some pictures for a self-post of my bedroom, and getting kinda frustrated. I feel like the pictures really, really don't do this place justice. :/ I had to turn on the harsh overhead chandelier lights that I never touch just to be able to photograph the place, which totally spoils the soft lighting effect I usually have going. Does not play nice with the antique-y goth aesthetic.

Oh well. I'll do a picture dump tomorrow when the light is better.

Suggestions: layer some cloth (scarves, fabric, quality lace) on the table to cover the IKEA looking wood and bring in the colors you have on the table. They are kinda haphazard. Also, maybe add a few partially melted candles of various heights (tapers + pillars + tea lights are good, if you need some on the cheap hit up a dollar store), or some dried flowers to add to the aesthetic and make it look less sparce

I could really use some help /cgl/, this was really a room downsize compared to the old place. I can't figure out where I can put anything. It's the furniture. This feels crowded but I hate to get rid of the chair, it's a nice chair and used to have such a nice nook. The shelf that the blue parlor set is on will need to be replaced but I'm struggling to find any kind of storage that is ~18" deep and 40" wide. It's a big set. I could put it on the trofast from my closet, or buy a new one, or something else altogether, but the trofast is a little ugly

You've got a lot of stuff anon. Maybe a konmari session is in order? If you have less things you won't need al those shelves.

Also, you don't have to put everything against a wall. Try floating the chair closer toward the middle of the room. Maybe even turn the desk sideways and float out the lamp to make a little office space and open up the wall a bit

>> No.9617431

I konmari all the time, but lots of things bring me joy! It's not so bad when everything is in place.

The lamp isn't really purposely there as much as it had to be somewhere so I had light. Truthfully I'm fine with getting rid of the lamp when the ceiling light is hung up. I have a hard time visualizing 'floating' the desk or the lamp though. I really wish my space hadn't been so downsized. We went from a 700 sq ft apt with large bedrooms and a tiny living room/kitchen to a 1100 sq ft huge living room, giant kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 1 ok bedroom and this tiny room for my stuff. I know I could move some of my things out into the other space but this is kinda like my little haven.

Oh no, I do appreciate the advice. I even have some fake candles in the holders that are covered or impractical, just to make it a little safer.

I totally get what you mean about the ikea furniture. I have a lot of it which is very very old, and I can't afford to get rid of anytime soon. Ditto, unfortunately, on the soft yellow wall colour.

I have a suggestion for anyone who wants to burn incense but is paranoid of it lighting something on fire, and it looks cool to boot (particularly for witchy/gothy aesthetics)

You get an old church candle holder like this one (I found this in a vintage shop for a few bucks), and fill the bottom with an inch or two of sand. Then just take the incense stick and stick it upright in the stand and light it. Any embers or ash that fall get put out by the sand at the bottom, and it's totally enclosed so it's not going to light anything around it. I change the sand in mine every few weeks just to keep it fresh. You could probably use very small pebbles or something like that in place of the sand.

It's pretty basic but I was proud of my little discovery
