Breeches for sure. I own the right ones and they're very versatile with many other ouji looks. You can go any color with the blouse really, white, black and ivory are all safe colors with ouji. Look for a blouse thats more masculine in cut though, preferably with a jabot. Avoid peter pan collars. Get matching socks/tights depending on what blouse you choose. And masculine, chunky black shoes. I like loafers and oxfords personally. You can get away with no head wear but investing in a nice quality top hat if you want to continue with ouji would be ideal.

Doing OTT with a skirt is tricky because you don't want too little going on with your top half. Layering a cardigan or bolero over a blouse makes it more interesting. I went a bit lazy and just did everything AP or Chocomint but the shoes are Bodyline.

Any ideas/critique for what I've thought of so far for the Lav MK JSK? I'm quite new to wearing lolita after lurking in the comm for several years and I recently got the dress so I wanna do it justice.

Honestly, I say ditch the wig. Natural hair looks better, especially since the dress is already pastel and has a lot going on. If your natural hair isn't suited to lolita, then I'd say pick one in your natural colour with this same kind of style.

I like the idea of using pink as an accent colour, and keeping the pearl motif throughout. You could also do a white blouse with this, but make sure the fabric is chiffon or something airy. The last thing you'd want to do is wear a cotton blouse and just weigh down the whole look. I'd say look for delicate pearl jewelry, as well as try not to use too much plastic or resin, even though AP has a whole bunch of seashell things, and only use it as an accent. I think sticking to smaller pearls and gems will look a lot more polished. I'd also recommend some tights with lighter colours just to keep the focus on the dress, as socks might look too heavy. Anyways, I think you have two options here depending on your personal tastes, either coord it with blue and white for a more subdued look (left), or keep going with the yellow and pink (right). I also think that either one of your blouse or cardigan should be white, and the other item your choice of colour. This will prevent things from looking too overloaded. Keep white throughout your legwear too. I'm not a huge fan of the 'match your bag to your shoes' rule, but the thing here will be consistency. Like I said before, I think the key to not looking too over the top will be to keep your pastels light and work with white.

I want to do something with snakes, but for the life of me I'm just stuck. The grey keeps throwing me I think, but I love red with grey.

This dress has a lot of potential, I like it! I'd say ignore the lavender, and just focus on the white, navy, red, black, and gold. Most brands have pretty solid items in all those colours, so you won't be short of options.
I think I lean slightly towards black, though it looks nice with white too! If you are wanting some card motif accessories, just search for 'trump' in lolibrary, there are plenty of cute socks/ bracelets/ necklaces, etc.

Have you seen that print in person? Because it's definitely, unmistakably green and no one will think "ravenclaw" if you coordinate it with bronze (or silver, if you're a pleb I guess).

To that point though, you need to decide if you want your accent color to be book-accurate or screen-accurate and go from there. If you go the bronze route, Night Ship Alice or Rose's Prisoner in Pirate Ship (both by Alice and the Pirates, and both available in multiple cuts) would be extremely workable from that angle. Night Ship Alice in particular, even though the over-arching theme is obviously pirates, includes secondary items like globes, open books, telescopes, and other very Ravenclaw items, imo.
If you're not sold on coordinating with a printed piece then my second suggestion would be to pick a solid navy piece, choose your secondary color, and then keep the themed accessories to a minimum. I could probably put together a collage if you gave me a better idea of which way you wanted to go with it.

I feel the same way. I suppose it is restricting but you can always coord with other light colors and bring in more interesting colors with accessories. Beige and off white are very fun to wear imo because every color you add to the coord pops a lot more.

I'd love some possible help for this dress! The trim is more of a dark, glittery beige/gold color as opposed to the light cream in the picture, so I'm unsure of how exactly to coord it, along with the particularly saturated shade of blue. (Although I love it regardless)

Maybe instead of trying to match colors perfectly, try using colors that compliment existing ones. Did you try coording with beige, or dusty pink? Brown should be fine for whatever purse and shoes that you choose, assuming you lean more towards classic than sweet, and you can always make some hair accessories to match the unusual shade of blue. You can also look on etsy for some handmade hair accessories with mushrooms or other motifs to match the print, and I can imagine this would look very cute coordinated with a fawn collar.

Several months ago I rehauled my wardrobe and moved into gothic. I got this dress in a trade recently and I'm a little stumped. Anything but sweet is fine, and bonus points if it's *not* a Christmas coord, haha.

I got this JSK months ago but haven't been able to come up with a good coord with it.

After months and months of searching I FINALLY have my dream dress coming my way and I'm trying to figure out some different co-ords to make them a little more 'year-round'.

I dont follow MCD closely but I think I usually see it with the secondary color being brown. If you wanted to move away from the norm I would try downplaying the brown and cording with the other colors in the print like ivory or pink. I might try making a collage later
