I really want to cosplay from Maria-sama ga Miteru but without a partner you'll just be another weeb wearing a seifuku and wig for fashion to the vast majority of people. All the characters with elaborate floor length poofy dresses too. I want to make them myself and don't want to use shit material, but that's a lot of money for a hobby I just do by myself. The only time I've ever been tempted to cosplay from something I'm not into were eroges and I really want to avoid that for obvious reasons. I don't even want to cosplay Kuroneko because of that, much less characters from eroges I actually have read and like. Seriously though why are eroge characters so much cuter on average? I want to cosplay La Pucelle from Magical Girl Raising project but ironically cosplaying the sole male character in the show is too difficult to do as a guy.

I want to do group cosplays of my favouritre anime and manga, but I have a shit taste so noones would cosplay my crap.

I got into Atelier games because of how beautiful the character designs are, but always felt too intimidated to make any of them. I'll be working on Totori over the coming months though!

I've always wanted to cosplay Ami, especially her school look because it would be so simple, but it's always been on the backburner and I never got around to it.

I have a large, sensitive head, and I have a really tough time wearing wigs as a result. I can't even wear headbands since the pressure quickly gives me a huge headache, and now my hair is getting longer and heavier so putting my hair up in a ponytail gives me a headache, too.

Because of my stickler attitude toward cosplay accuracy and head, any character that doesn't have shoulder-length light brown hair and side-swept bangs isn't a viable option for me. Luckily, I can cosplay Yui Hirasawa from K-ON, or Totoko from Osomatsu-san. But I can't/won't cosplay Winry Rockbell from FMA:B, Eru Chitanda from Hyouka, or anyone else that requires a wig.

Almost everything I want to cosplay are female characters, and as a male that's almost impossible. I also don't really have a group of friends that could support me, so exposing myself to the harassment is not very tempting at all. Have done some crossplays though, but do it rarely unless they look ambiguous to a person who doesn't know the material, and don't put any real effort into passing. Still, the things I REALLY want to do and put a lot of effort into will probably never be done, because it can't look good or even acceptable in the first place.
It could be a nice dream to work towards getting better at cosplay and do what I want, but there is no male path that I want to follow so I'm simply stuck at the beginner stage with semi closet thrown together lazy stuff.

I've always wanted to cosplay Dread Queen Serqet from Smite, I totally love this skin and how it is inspired from Alien makes me nerd out! I always wanted to cosplay Boba Fett since I was a child. The first time I saw him on the TV I fell in love with the whole outfit and character but never can I imagine being good enough to actually make it. Moana, because we have a similar height, build, head shape and hair. I want to use my natural hair so have been extra careful with it, but don't have the time for cosplay anymore if I want to do it justice. Cosplaying people (especially if the culture is linked to a real culture) demands more accuracy and detail than, say, a Pokemon fur suit.

Would love to do some Phantasy Star 2 cosplay but I've got three (possibly four) problems:
1) my ugly ass round face that doesn't match my body type

I did her anon and my stomach didn't show that much. It would surprise me if you have stretch marks at the top of your belly. Even in the reference pic the skirt is a bit high waisted and covers the belly button. Just do a bit of ab work to tighten it up before the con and I'm honestly sure you'd look great!! although it was a bit reavealing for me so I wouldn't recommend doing it in the winter time since you'll get chilly

A fair number of them have tutorials on sourcing fabrics, how to draft accurate patterns, and sewing historical garments. You can also find period accurate shoes online as well.

2: get/make several mostly empty calorie foods to snack on

Just do it, I did Panty many years ago and I was literally soft as a mashmellow and not fit at all. It was fun, nobody said anything bad at all and even I receive some pretty good comments unexpectedly.
