I think lolita is becoming more acceptable and mainstream there. I’m from Canada and I see the same thing. In my uni there was “Chinese” only groups and clubs for those who are here for school. It seems weird to not want to get to know others while you travel for school, and their English skills suffered from lack of practice.

If I want to avoid taxes, will it be better to split my order into multiple packages?
I'm shipping to EU, and I will easily pass $600. Even with undervaluing (as single package), I won't go below the EU taxing limits, which are ~$25 and ~$50 for gifts, and the tax will be a bullshit 21%. There's no way I'm going to pay $150 in taxes.
If I were to split the package in two (or more?) I would only pay ~$15 for two packages instead of one bigger.
Does it sound like a smart thing to do? Obviously I will ask for packages to be undervalued, so any tax will be less.

45 EUR if it's marked as gift.
The limits are EU wide, usually only value of the content is used to decide if to tax the package or not. But the tax, if applicable, is calculated on the combined price of content, shipping, and insurance.

Thanks so much! I contacted them and apparently my Houseki No Kuni Diamond items triggered their 'no powder or sticky things' ban list. They had me link them to show them it was actually just a wig and lazer plastic paper or whatever it's called in english and then cleared it for me.

I'm not 100% certain but I think it says something along the lines of:

He might be telling you to check out the shipping page for the order numbers or to go there to combine your orders for shipping? Did you already combine for international shipping? If so and it is too big then you can provide them with that order # to have them cancel (I feel like there's also an option to do this yourself on the shipping page though) it so that you can split your shipment into 2. If you have not paid for international shipping then simply only check the items you want in the first package, pay for international shipping. Then do they same for the remaining items for your second package.

Would not recommend buying from Candy Rainbow. Their "cupcake" petti had a really weird shape when I got it and sits a tad short for most of my dresses.

Aliexpress. Tiny orders aren't really worth it through Taobao, because you're usually paying the base commission price and something like for half a kg of shipping anyways. It's only really worth it if you get quite a few items.

To give you an example, I bough a bunch of cosplays recently.
On Taobao I paid:

On AliExpress I would have to pay, with shipping (some free, some paid extra), for each around:

10 kg haul costs around $115 using DHL, and the package is in my hands in less than a week since I request shipment at my SS.

Even for smaller haul, only for one of the items I listed above (the heaviest, 1.72 kg), it's cheaper.
$2 pre-order, $56 item, $1 shipping in China, $36 DHL up to 2 kg. Total $95. On AliExpress that would be $138.
