There's no stupid question thread so asking here: Why the hell are so many LM listings missing waist ties? Where do they go? How do people lose them? If you remove the ties wouldn't you just put them back on the dress before hanging it back in your closet?

Can anyone explain this phenomena to me?

>> No.9760620

>>9760615
I've noticed a lot of Japanese listings without waist ties, same thing at CC and WW. I don't store my waist ties on the dress, but rather organized in boxes. My guess is others do the same, lose track of where they put what, and either can't find the items or can't be bothered to look.

I had a seller offer to send me the waist ties to a dress I'd bought ~6 months later because she found them when she moved.

>> No.9760626

I used to wonder this and then I lost a bunch of pinbows when I moved across the country. I store my waist ties separately because someone told me to do that, and I misplace them constantly. So, you know, this doesn't happen for smart reasons, but just because people are dumb and careless.

I store most of my waist ties over the hanger loop because leaving them to dangle puts unnecessary stress on the buttons and material, plus looks sloppy in my closet. Normally feelers are when sellers are thinking about selling an item but aren’t 100% sure yet or want to know how many people are interested and how much they want to pay for it. So I feel like it’s a poor word choice from someone whose native language is probably not English.
I think she means people who are interested in the items, but who are not sure if they want to buy it or not, but yet still bid or purchase the item and then start asking questions. (Otherwise she can’t leave them negative feedback.)

Whether I lose or gain weight is my choice and my own concern. it feels good to be free and so sure of myself. you can be healthy and chubby at the same time. look at your family history and know your range. whatever your goal is, make sure it's something that you want for yourself, and not what others say they want because they could honestly care less whether you live or die.

Okay but when you fat fucks stretch out brand and then list it as good condition that's not fair to people who actually have self control. If I pay $300 for a dress listed as good condition it better be good condition and not busted like a rekt tire.

This isn't even bringing up taxes I pay because of fat people like the other anon did.

Not in my country, even though all the most prevalent causes of death are obesity-related. We have universal healthcare, too. I really wish junk food got taxed the same way cigarettes are. Contrary to what I often hear people claim, all fat people I know eat junk food regularly and will usually go for the junk food over healthy food because it's cheaper and more satisfying. When we're out as a comm the fat girls always go for the most unhealthy options even if they claim they're dieting. Meet days are "cheat days" apparently.

quit griping and file complaints or submit a chargeback.
I bought a dress 2ndhand off mercari that arrived with super stretched shirring, bodice and straps, that was just from being hung improperly in a closet. It was cheap though and worth rehabbing.

bad or inexperienced sellers come in all sizes. not everyone takes care of their pieces like they should. some small girls don't even fucking wash or dry clean their brand out of "fear" so I've gotten things with b.o., caked pits, and disgusting dingy collars.

if you're desperate enough to pounce on a DD without checking the condition, that's on you. I buy used almost exclusively, and I've made dress rehab part of my hobby. you'll likely never have the pleasure of buying anything off me because I keep everything that I can wear. My wardrobe is a permanent collection.

in an ideal system, elastic stays tight forever. but we live in a reality of death and decay. stop trying to act like my being overweight has any real affect on you. I live in burgerland, have a full-time job, pay for my own private healthcare, and am working on getting toward the lower end of my healthy range. but I refuse to be thin. I love the way my chub feels and looks on me, and that's my preference.

Not sure if this should go in the general, but what do you do if someone is (possibly) trying to scam you?
They bought a dress from me in November, and I shipped it to their address on paypal. They contacted me a couple weeks later saying they didn't receive it, but I using the tracking number, it showed as delivered.
They then said that they had moved from that address, and had written it in the notes that I was supposed to send it to a different address from what was on their paypal account. They did not message me to inform me of this change or to read the notes, so I never scrolled down far enough on the Paypal transaction to see it. I contacted the post office per their request, but since the package was already delivered, there was nothing I could do. She (presumably) filed a police report and said the new residents were sending the package back to me.
Fast forward to now, and she contacts me saying that she's going to start a dispute. I never received anything back, and now checking the tracking number again, the previous tracking and delivery info is gone, replaced by very recent (within a week) tracking info saying the package was dropped off at the post office (in her city) and is being forwarded to a new address.
How fucked am I, if she tries to get her money from paypal? It seems like she's getting the package already, but since it doesn't say delivered on the tracking anymore, she's trying to scam me out of the money.

That seems scammy. You should ALWAYS ship to the address on Paypal. It's relatively easy for buyers to add a new address at checkout, and if she was moving, she should have told you in advance.

I would contact Paypal with screencaps of her requesting you to send it to a different address, any threats, etc.
You might be out the dress, but there might be a way for you to prevent the chargeback.

Hopefully that's enough to win the dispute; I thought I was fine until I checked tracking again and it said "being forwarded" instead of "delivered" like it did a month ago.
Her excuse was that if she changed her address, the payment wouldn't go through since she hadn't changed it with the bank (which doesn't really make sense, since it's the shipping address, not the billing address that she needs to change), and since she did "put it in the notes", she didn't feel the need to let me know through messages.

I wish I had taken a screenshot of the tracking info when it had said it was delivered.

I hate to say it, but if you’re planning on shopping, you are going to buy a lot. There’s lots of good stuff there, and I always end up with more than I planned to buy.

I force myself to take only one medium-large sized suitcase, as there are planets of places in the major cities that don’t have escalators/ elevators, and you will have to be able to carry your bag up and down flights of stairs. I had one trip of hauling multiple bags, and I swore never to do it again.

It also depends on when you are going. I have visted and brought lolita with me in the summer, but coming from a cold climate I was not used to the hot weather and felt too ugly and sweaty to wear lolita. I later visited in the spring, and I did pack one coord with me and wear it without any issues.

I can give some more advice, but all in all, I would say leave the coord. You’ll be thankful for the space in your bag, and you’ll be having so much fun that I don’t think you’ll miss having it. Personally, I just pack a few shirts, a few skirts, some tights/ socks, one pair of pants, and one sweater (plus underwear). Everything else can be purchased while you’re there, and it’s kind of fun to update your wardrobe. Additionally I try to stay at places where I can do laundry at least once.

I would say leave it, or just bring a petticoat/blouse, or a couple things you *know* are definitely going to match what you'll buy (e.g. pink shoes and bag for sweet). But in that case, ensure with those items you're bringing you're not going to buy anything similar while you're there because that will defeat the purpose.

Definitely planning is the most important part, really think about any new releases you'd like to buy or plan what kind of dresses you'll pick up if you see them in CC or such - obviously just get what you like, but if you can try to prepare in advance for pieces you want to see and buy with anything that you're going to bring to accompany it. If you *really* know what you want to buy then bring some things, but if you're just going to be buying whatever then probably dont.

It will also really depend on what kind of things you're doing for your trip, and what kind of person you are. Personally, I'm someone who cant be fucked to get dressed up for touristy things, places which require a lot of walking or outdoorsy things, or even if i just want to go ham on shopping. If you like to be dressed up, and if you're not going to be doing many "inconvenient" things then maybe bring one coord or a couple of basics like i mentioned earlier. If you're going to be spending more time in shorts, joggers and a backpack then probably dont bother because you'll be buying a lot of shit.

I'm assuming you're going relatively soon where the weather wont be an issue, but if you're going in summer pretty much forget about wearing lolita, and dont bring anything besides a petti and maybe a blouse if you're really insistant on wearing it. Chances are you'll feel too sweaty and disgusting, and your hair will go to shit in the humidity (just like mine did) and it wont really be worth it.

>t. went to japan in summer, wore lolita once and had to wash everything and my hair looked like shit. also brought a piece i didn't end up wearing that had inbuilt petti.

Thanks guys, I'm going in the late fall/winter but I want to get a general idea of packing j-fashion. I know I'll be buying somethings maybe even enough to fill another suitcase but I can't miss the chance to wear J-fashion on this trip. We'll be staying in Tokyo the entire time and be doing light to heavy shopping and just stuffing our faces tbqh.

How much does she typically charge these days? I couldn't find the info anywhere, and I don't want to send a request before I have a ballpark idea of what to expect.

I remember one of hers back in 13' I think was $500?

I travel to Tokyo a few times a year and I have a few tips, but I wonder, which season are you traveling in?

I recommend packing a large suitcase, then placing a slightly smaller suitcase nestled inside like this anon said >>9763994. In your small suitcase pack your basics, but understand things like shampoo and conditioner are very easy to find there or provided by your hotel. You don't need to pack that type of stuff. Pack a bunch of space saving bags that you can put your clothes in and squeeze the air out of to maximize suitcase space.

You'll need a comfortable normie outfit to travel in on your flight which can double for sight-seeing like jeans, athletic shoes, and a hoodie. I usually have a med-small bag I carry onto the flight with my passport, hotel address, and a black pen. Then bring a cute fashion purse, one or two casual j-fash outfits in similar colors, a small and light pair of go-to j-fash shoes in your preferred color, a petticoat/blouse/hair accessory in your preferred color, and undergarments. Try not to use more than two space saving bags flying over, then be prepared to use around 4 or 5 for whatever you bring back. An empty shoe box can hold your accessories when you return. It depends on your hotel, but mine usually have a yukata and I sleep in it.

When it's time to head to the airport you can try to manage your bags, but since I'm tiny and travel alone, I just have my bags sent to the airport from my hotel. It usually costs me around 3,500 yen, but I don't want to bother with it in busy train stations with stairs or rush hour. Talk to your hotel about it when you arrive and see when you'd need to turn in your bags and how much it would cost for you. If you have more questions you can ask and I'll try to answer. I travel internationally at least twice a year and I'm getting better at travel tips.

Oh, sorry now I see when you're going. Wear a cute lolita coat on the plane and use it as your winter coat.
